Reviews for A World of Possibility
1 rating1 review
- Rating: 3 out of 5 stars3/5As a collection of short stories, I found A World of Possibility to be a mixed bag. Some of these stories were quite good. Some of them were stories that I would never have chosen to read, but they turned out to be rather okay. And some of them weren't worth the time it took to read them.
This last category included stories that suffered from mostly bad editing, weak storylines, or both. I guess that's the risk you take with any kind of anthology.
I also found it really unfortunate that the formatting of the ebook edition that I read (from Scribd) left a lot to be desired. Just by way of example, the Table of Contents was there, but it was completely useless. It contained six chapters, but those chapters referred to a single story, starting about 70% of the way through the book. And AFTER the sixth chapter, there were another good five or six stories. It made it very difficult for me to judge how long any given story was, or how long it might take me to finish it (important when I only have a finite amount of time in my reading session, and don't want to have to end it in the middle of a story)!
Similarly, the stories themselves ran straight into one another, with no page breaks between them. I would much rather have preferred the stories to be nicely organised, with each one having its own entry in the Table of Contents.
It's the little things....
