About this ebook
Three close friends decide to go camping. They arrive and set up camp nearly three miles away from where they left the car. Late that evening, as they sit around the campfire roasting marshmallows, one of them reveals a deep dark secret that turns what was to be a fun weekend into one of the most terrifying weekends of their lives. One of them will reveal the fact that she believes they have been followed by a hideously scarred man, Wild Drake. Worst of all she has brought them to the spot where a camping family was killed by Wild Drake.
The man is horribly disfigured, and with hate burning up his heart and mind he seeks revenge. He has followed the women to their camping spot and has maintained sight of them as he lurks in the forest. He waits until dark to strike and when he does it is methodical, evil, and horrifying.
One of them will live through the horror of the night, but who will it be?

Marilyn Bostick was born in Phoenix, Arizona, the second oldest of four children. After a high school she joined the Arizona Army National Guard. She worked briefly at the Arizona Army National Headquarters in the Logistics section. "It was very interesting and a lot of fun. After her first son was born she tried being a stay at home mother. She took work into her home from a jewelry maker across the way. Eventually went back to school until her second son was born. After many years of motherhood, and various careers she finally went back to school to learn to be what she always wanted to be. A writer. She attended Full Sail University and received a Bachelor's of Fine Arts Degree in Creative Writing for Entertainment. During her time as a student she wrote many stories and had a couple published in the university's literary magazine The Aviator. She also developed many story ideas that will keep her busy for many years to come. Through the years, Marilyn has raised two sons. She is a member of several writers groups and enjoys them all, online or real world groups. When she was a kid she spent much of her time reading. While she did dishes she would prop a book up over the faucet so she could read while performing her chore. In high school she started writing stories. The first story was a gothic romance with elements of murder and mystery. She never sent out her stories but she did let friends read them and received many compliments. Now she writes in her spare time between assignments and required socialization with family and friends. She lives in Sun City Grand in Surprise, Arizona. It is a great place to write. No blaring radios from the neighbors or kids running up and down outside her house screaming and caterwauling. It would be even better if she received no distractions whatsoever while writing. A good friend of hers enrolled in Full Sail University on Marilyn's recommendation. Her friend is going for a degree in graphic design and is currently helping Marilyn set up an Author website and doing covers for her books. Her friend is exceptionally talented and they have come together on a working partnership where her friend does all of her design work. Marilyn is a voracious reader, writes every chance she gets, loves to cross-stitch and spend time with her grandchildren. She reads mysteries, Sci-fi, horror, and the occasional romance as long as it has scary parts in it. She motivates herself to get the stories rumbling through her mind onto paper.

Chapter 1 - Road Trip
"Hello?"
Laura? Paulette. Want to go camping?
Of course I do! When and where?
Hannigan’s Meadow in the White Mountains in let’s say--two hours.
In two hours! I’ll be running around like a head with my chicken cut off!
Oh come on! Chris is going. She’s packing her stuff as we speak. We can make a pit stop for food once we’re out of the city. We’ll have to go through Showlow, we can stop there for groceries.
Laura sat on her counter stool thinking it over. It was only five in the morning on Friday. Her camping gear was always packed to go, all she really would need to do is pack some clothes, Okay, you’re on. Camping we are going. I’ll be ready in two, but you guys can drop by any time you’re ready. I’m assuming we’re taking my Gx?
You got that right. I’m going to finish up over here, then swing by for Chris, and if need be help her out, then we’ll be at your place. See ya at seven thirty! Till then bye.
See ya in a few, Paulette,
Laura said and hung up the phone. She looks at her dog Silly Willy sitting at her feet and says, I guess we’re going camping. Want to go for a ride?
Silly Willy barks twice, then runs in a circle.

In line at Food World in Showlow, Paulette and Laura are waiting to purchase their groceries while Chris takes the dogs to a grassy area to run around. There’s plenty of soda, sport drinks, water, various juices, and tons of food for snacking, breakfasts, lunches, and dinners even marshmallows for roasting. Paulette looks over their items ensuring they have everything they need, then bored, looks out the window in front of the store. She’s startled by a strange sight, a man in a long dark duster, black boots and jeans, and a cowboy hat on his head standing in the middle of the parking lot looking in. She can’t quite make out what he looks like. She blinks her eyes a few times to clear her sight, but the man’s face remains out of focus in the shadow from his hat. She continues to stare out at the man until the cashier leans over and whispers in her ear, "Don’t look at him. If he catches you staring at him you’ll become a
