The two authors also share their respective personal philosophies on resiliency and life with all its traumas and celebrations.

    Gloria Vanderbilt was born in 1924. She was the only daughter of railroad scion Reginald Vanderbilt and Gloria Morgan, his second wife. When Vanderbilt was 15 months old, her father died of cirrhosis. This left Vanderbilt, along with her half-sister from her father’s first marriage, the beneficiary of a $5 million
