About this ebook

Being the Son of a retired Navy Man who had six children and hearing the stories about his Adventures would have been great, but he did not share many. I decided I would like to share some of the crazy and dumb thing I did while being in the Army, so my Family could in days to come, could talk about some of these Adventures.

I have enjoyed reliving these event as I wrote about them and hope all that read this book will laugh and smile as they might see them self's doing some of these thing I experienced while serving my Country.

    THE BROWN ARMY

    TURNS GREEN

On Sept. 2, 1954, the adoption of the Army green uniform in shade 44 was announced, but it was not until September 1956 that it became available at Quartermaster Clothing Sales Stores -- and late 1957 before it began being issued to inductees. After a transition period to allow wear-out of existing uniforms, the green uniform became mandatory service dress in September 1961.

I went in the Army in Nov 1953, Brown uniform and Brown shoes and a Overcoat that weight a ton and we call it a Buffalo Blanket.
