Description

Hi to Everyone, my friends, fans, and followers. I am your host, "Linda Gaye Scott" and very excited to be here FINALLY for our 2nd Episode.which is ... WHY I was on the cover album of "Jan and Dean Take Linda Surfin".I'd like to say a BIG THANK YOU to All of My listeners. YOU mean a great deal to me. You are extraordinary & have introduced me to a new chapter in my life that I never knew existed. Thru all of you, I'm learning about a different world I don't think I recognized, probably because I was such a private person. Therefore with All of my heart, I want you to know"YOU ALL are AMAZING"!! Let's stay together and travel this Very Bumpy Road, Indeed. Whoa “WELCOME”. !!! In my first episode, I talked about my childhood surrounded by movie stars, and my grandmother being an award-winning actress. In This, my 2nd Episode I'll introduce my high school years, experiences, crazy things that happened & WHY I was on the cover album of "Jan and Dean Take Linda Surfin".IT ALL STARTED when Jan and Dean attended University High school (Uni-Hi) they were on the football team with adjoining lockers and "together" started singing and harmonizing in the showers with a number of other football players. Life was Good and Fun abounded. Jan and Dean joined together in 1959 they recorded their first hit,“Baby Talk”. As they became enthralled with the popularity of surfing they recorded a #1 hit in 1963 called “Surf City”! Also, Little Old Laday from Pasadena was #3 and Dead Man's Curve was #8 and the "LINDA" recording reached #28 in Billboard's top 100!! AND With That, They introduced a Dynamic, one-of-a-kind sound, ESTABLISHING their own place AS musical history was born. Before I go further I'd like to talk a little more about my life, because I know you all are curious to learn more and know me better and why I was involved with Jan and Dean In the 1st episode. I often mentioned my father/my dad. So I'd like to talk a bit about my father. He was tall, very handsome & had an aura that was Unmistakably Powerful, and Overwhelmingly Charming. You name it and He Had It ALL. !!!I loved him and frankly, at times, was ah struck by his presence because when he entered a room Everyone would Stop and Look or even stare. He was a highly successful businessman as well as acquired vast amounts of real estate in Beverly Hills, West Hollywood, and West L.A. !!My mom discovered the most incredible woman and that was Mabel from Mobile, Alabama. She was the best cook, housekeeper, and Assistant that our family had ever known as she became an Integral Part, big time and I loved her like a 2nd mom..Now, When dad was home, One of his favorite things was to have big parties with his friends like The Mayor of Los Angeles, Sam Yorty & his family & so on. Our parties and get-togethers were like a Who's Who socially.Switching gears & back to high school, I was a full-on teenager and on my 16th birthday dad surprised me with a slick black chevy that was quite a car, I mean it had all the extras, plus a wolf whistle (sounds) and definitely a show stopper. In the summer before my senior year, dad sold my chevy making me very upset. Although not long after, he surprised me with another car this time it was a white corvette with a turquoise racing stripe right down the center. It was exceptional and I loved it. Only thing was, my dad's absence was like a giant hole in our home life. That may be the reason why he bombarded us with material gifts.

Titles in the series (8)

Many of you may know me as an actress in Michael Crichton’s Premier film “Westworld” in which I played Arlette, robot prostitute who seduced & gave favors to Richard Benjamin. Now Richard was a fantastic actor to work with especially because he knew I was uncomfortable having to disrobe and undress. Richard might have been uncomfortable during that scene but I never noticed a hint of it. Off-screen he was a happily married man to a beautiful and highly talented actress Paula Prentiss, known for her comedy roles in many films. I’d like to mention that when actors don't have any lines of dialogue, it’s not as easy as you would think. Without words, the character has little to work with. As an audience, think about it and imagine what or how You would convey your thoughts to another person if you were unable to speak. Well, if you don’t agree, try it sometime. It isn’t easy my friends. Also, it was inferred that handsome James Brolin was having his way with another saloon gal. FYI - As an aside, James Brolin is married to the iconic “Out of this World” Singer, Actress, Award-Winning Barbra Streisand. Meanwhile, Brolin's character was being pursued by the Man in Black, Gunslinger Yul Brynner who was brilliant, outstanding, and very scary. Mr. Brynner was best known for being the staunch King in the legendary film "The King and I" with Award-Winning actress Deborah Kerr. Now regarding television, there was a well-known series called The Green Hornet (Green Hornet Music.. )in which you may know me as VAMA, the One and Only woman in history to "ZAP" the Great, Incomparable Bruce Lee as CATO. During and between "takes" Bruce and I would talk at length about so many things but honestly He did most of the talking. He said he didn't easily open up to others but felt like he'd known me for a long time. That he felt safe & very comfortable. In The Batman 66 series (Batman Music) I was The Riddler's female villain "MOTH". I will be giving fans much to chew on when talking about the show's Hero Adam West, his sidekick Burt Ward and the forever Memorable Frank Gorshin. Certainly More to share at another time. There are a slew of many other series such as Bewitched with Elizabeth Mongomery and Dick York, Lost in Space, Bonanza, and my Introductory and very first role in Ben Casey as well as many other roles in which I guest-starred.
