About this ebook
Success if not the opposite of failure but the result of it. Failure is a learning tool that equips us to become successful and it provides signposts along the way. We learn from mistakes and they offer us opportunities to do better in the next round. I am taking the gloves off and tackling all the aspects that prevent us from being successful:
- Not recognizing failure as a tool for success;
- Being hijacked by your own thoughts;
- Being your own worse enemy in your pursuit of success;
- Not having discipline;
- Making excuses;
- Not wanting success badly enough.
I also provide ways to overcome these aspects and a practical toolkit that can assist towards success and especially ways we can learn from mistakes.

INTRODUCTION
It would not be that difficult to identify a significant number of negative events or unhappy coincidences in the lives of successful people. They would describe these events as learning that equipped them for success. Instead of failing, they have overcome their obstacles and became successful. If, instead of being so successful, these individuals had actually failed, it would be just as easy to construct a suggestive sequence of unlucky events, which would equally serve as an explanation for their failure. But this would neglect the fact that many people fail on their way to success and not all of us embrace failure as a tool.
Success if not the opposite of failure but the result of it. Failure is a learning tool that equips us to become successful and it provides signposts along the way. We learn from mistakes and they offer us opportunities to do better in the next round.
Much could be said about optimism and pessimism in the ‘pursuit of our success’ but if everything about your life resembles hard times and stormy seas, your boat does not have much of a chance to survive the storm, unless you become the best captain of your ship that you can be.
We can try and change our destiny but if we constantly battle an invisible force holding us back, you can reach a point where pessimism overrides optimism and the pursuit become an impossible battle lost long before you started it. It is important that we are aware of pitfalls that hinder us from becoming successful.
I will provide insight into what is holding us back and what can help us shake off the obstacles that keep us from becoming the best we can be. I am certainly not where I want to be but I am working everyday towards my own personal and business success. I am learning from my mistakes and I use these mistakes to help me become the best version of myself. I don’t begrudge failure as I have learned a lot from it. Success if not the opposite of failure – success is what you eventually achieve as a result of failure and learning.
SUCCESS IS NOT THE OPPOSITE OF FAILURE
It may appears as if success favors the rich and powerful. The reality is that people who become successful, fail along the way. Failure is part of success. Failure is NOT the opposite of success.
What is success? Is it luck or destiny or is it something unattainable we all strive for but can never quite reach? Success has different meanings for different people. For the rich, it is a privilege; for the poor it is a luxury and for those in the middle it is something they strive for but something that often eludes them.
Most of our fellow human beings will never know what it is like to be successful. They are just trying to survive. The
