About this ebook
Life makes so many empty promises at times it makes you wonder where is the love? What if I told you that the love is inside of you & all that you have to do is give yourself permission to receive it and share it with the world.
What if I also told you that God's love has always been there with you every step of the way. Would you be willing to open up your heart to him & allow him to take away the hurt, the pain, and all the things that have caused you to devalue yourself, to see yourself as unworthy?
If you answered yes to any of these questions or if love seems like a distant memory then this is the book for you!
God wants you to want him. It is your authorization, your consent, that seals the deal. There are no terms or conditions necessary. He wants to love you unconditionally all he asks is that you give him permission to love you.
This book is the first step in that journey to peace and wholeness as you walk in love, you demonstrate love, and you become the essence of who & what God is, LOVE.

Permission to Love - Lolita Buck
Introduction
My First Love
A close-up of a hockey stick Description automatically generated with medium confidenceI
just cannot imagine writing a book about love or anything else for that matter without paying homage to my Heavenly Father who is my very first love. He is the one who demonstrates daily what true love looks like. But his most valuable display of love began when he chose to sacrifice his one and only son Jesus Christ for you and me. This book is not meant to make you fall in love with God but instead it is meant to help you understand his unwavering love for you. Just knowing how much he loves you should nudge you to seek full permission to love yourself just as you are. Nothing more, nothing less because God creates only the best.
Let me be clear. God’s love is nothing like the temporary, superficial love that we all experience from time to time. (A husband’s love, love from our children, family, etc.) This a spiritual love. A love that is deeply rooted in pain. Pain that ultimately would redeem mankind. Human flesh being nailed on a cross so that you and I could be fully liberated. If that’s not love I’m not sure what it is. It is because of this sacrifice that each of us are given the opportunity to spend eternity with him. That’s just how intense God’s love is.
This is a true story about me. I absolutely fell in love with God at around eight years old in Sunday school. I am still not quite sure how my tiny head could comprehend this magnitude of love. I somehow figured it out though. I was totally astonished at the fact that someone would have such a heart & passion for me. Such a concern with redeeming me from my sins that he would put his son on a cross. With every new story I read in the bible I fell deeper and deeper in love with him. However, at the age of sixteen hormones started kicking in. I had boy brain
sad to say God was put on the back burner. But let me tell you when he captivates your heart it is a never-ending love. It was literally game on from that point on. Because even though I chose to take a break away from God he never left my side. Years later he was still there for me, with open arms. Once I got past my rebellious years I returned to my very first love and as I expected he would, he welcomed me back with no questions asked. Much like the prodigal son, but I guess in this case I was the prodigal daughter. And ever since then I’ve continued to be captivated by his love. I’d imagine that this little illustration of his love for me directly correlates to the scripture where it speaks about training up a child in the way he should go and when he is old he will not depart from it. (Proverbs 22:6) Yes this is true my friend, I am a living example of it.
You may have never had that loving relationship with God that I just spoke about. I hope that you too will get to experience him at some point in your life as I have. It is never too late. Look at the thief that was on the cross next to Christ he was about to take his last breath and because of his remorseful attitude at the very end he bought himself a ticket to be with Christ in paradise. This is how much God loves each of his children. I mean the guy was doing all kind of shady stuff most of his life and he still gets a stamp into Heaven. This is clearly a demonstration of not only God’s love but his willingness to forgive. Hopefully it doesn’t come down to the last second for you. Gods got so much love to give I’d hate to see you miss out on it.
Now that I have spoken so highly of my very first love. I wanted to give you a brief overview of the book. God gave me the vision for this book along with the entire woman’s empowerment brand a while back. But life sort of went on pause for a minute as we all tended to the Covid 19 pandemic. But when I tell you God won’t let you forget the assignment. He kept putting it on my heart continuously all throughout. The overall premise of the book is that so many of us are struggling to love ourselves simply because we are seeking outward validation. Which isn’t too farfetched considering that fact that most of us have been conditioned to seek this sort of love and affection for most of our lives. This book was birthed because I felt there had to be a better mouse trap so to speak. I knew if we could find a way to love our ourselves authentically just the way we are that is where the magic would happen. And voila, I realized this would only be possible if we gave ourselves permission to love from the inside out. In fact, this is not only about just loving ourselves, but others as well. But it all stems from the true source of love, God. (1 John 4:8)
I do want to be quite candid with you and let you know upfront that sometimes the most beautiful things are manifested in pain, and this is no exception. To experience the kind of love that I’m speaking about it is going to require a bit of discomfort. What it ultimately means is that you will have to detach yourself from the shallow things of this world that often mirror a sort of pseudo love and get connected to God. This book will show you how to do just that.
Once you learn the principles in this book and you become love
you will experience a paradigm shift in your life. God will challenge you to surrender all to him, but the reward for your obedience will far exceed your greatest expectation. (Ephesians 3:20)
Let me say this. This isn’t a one size fit all type of deal. I will give you the basic concepts here. But this journey is your own close & personal walk with God. This simply means that your pathway to love may not look exactly like mine. But the inner peace and joy we experience is identical. Our focus is to remain focused on him and allow his love to penetrate our heart & soul little by little. So that eventually we find the strength and courage to break free from the entanglements of the world. The goal of this book is to help each of you so that you will no longer cling to external validation. This book will show you that God’s love is more than enough. He says it in his word that his grace is sufficient and that is what we all need to put our trust in each day. (2 Corinthians 12:9). It is when you learn to measure love by those guidelines alone you will realize that this book is effectively producing fruit in your life.
I pray that each of you will not only enjoy giving yourself permission to love but that you will fall in the love with the journey itself. Because it is in the journey that the true treasures lie. Real authentic love will challenge you to be better with each waking moment. With that said, this is the day that the Lord has made and with the right kind of love in it you’ll have no other choice than to rejoice and be glad in it. (Psalm 118:24)

THE T
Zone
A close-up of a hockey stick Description automatically generated with medium confidenceT
his is the place where you will begin your journey towards authentic love. You will notice that I did not start right away in the love zone. That is because I know that each of you have a long path ahead of you. But that is alright you will get there one step at a time. Just as so many others before you, including myself. Life really is a marathon and not a sprint, there is really no need to rush the process.
So, when I speak about permission to love without going too deep, I’m not speaking about anything romantic or sexual in nature. This is about learning to love yourself from a healthy, whole perspective. Allowing God to wrap his loving arms around you and embrace you as you are.
