Self Victory is True Victory - Surya Sinha

    You Are a Winner

    When You Win Yourself

Friends, when God created man on this earth, He also endowed him with a miraculous power. Mostly we remain either ignorant or callous about that hidden power which reminds him of its existence. It is that power which makes him winner at every front. But, if a person feels lacking of that power then the person reaches at its downfall.

That power is confidence on self or self-confidence.

The popular Hindi saying: "Man Ke Jeete Jeet Hai, Man Ke Haare Haar!’

Meaning, he who has won himself has actually won the entire world and he who has lost himself has lost everything in the world. So the best tool to win over self is our self-confidence!

This is such a super power by virtue of possessing it you can achieve everything – even the impossible. Then nothing remains unaccessible or unreachable; such a man touch the sky or measure even the deepest sea.

You must develop faith on yourself and establish your confidence; only then you can hope to win over yourself. Hence the saying: ‘Man Ke Jeete Jeet Hai, Man Ke Haare Haar!’ [Self Victory is True Victory]

    – Surya Sinha

If one can control oneself to awaken one’s self-confidence, then this shall become as one’s main power. It is that power which makes everything quite achievable and makes one competent to touch new heights of achievement. This power makes success one’s handmaiden. But…it is not easy to awaken this power of self-confidence. It isn’t everyone’s cup of tea.

Friends! This can happen only when you have confidence on your capabilities. The lack of confidence in self makes one incapable of awakening one’s this super power. It is difficult for such persons to believe that they command immense power. They refuse to believe that they can do everything by using this power that God has given. See the fallacious perception of man who believes him to be son of God but doesn’t believe him to be possessing any super-power! If we are his progeny then we ought to get some fraction of His power also.

In fact, all the successful persons, who made history and who made the world overawed with their level of achievement did the first thing to awaken their hidden power in their self, which now you have to! They all accepted the truth that since we all are progeny of God, we all have, like God has, an immense source of power. It is on the strength of this power that they achieved whatever they aspired for. Their achievements are not less than miracles for the people but whatever they achieved had one confidence in them that ‘they can do’, with that they created wonders and made history.

Remember that these ‘history-makers’ didn’t come from other world. Neither they had any extra limb. But, they did have one speciality and that was: the capacity to believe in self. They had this confidence and conviction upon their capacity to achieve whatever they aspired for. They knew that they could get what they wanted by their confidence in self. And, they did show to the world that they could really accomplish what they set out to achieve. They explored new dimensions and scaled new heights by having self-confidence.

Those who are having the strength of their immense self- confidence keep on touching untouched pinnacles of their career. Because they know that they can do it. In the contrary, there are those persons who fail to arouse this kind of confidence in self, they use to lead an average life which ends in a sorry anonymity. Leave alone the world even their own kith & kins hardly miss them. And why should they be missed or remembered? As such, they have not done anything unique for which they would be remembered forever.

It is not like that any person would remain a failure all through one’s life? No one remains totally unsuccessful all through one’s life. People do get success but that success level is just very ordinary, yet they start feeling proud and end as the conceited frogs confined to their narrow well. Such persons neither know the taste of real success nor they have any idea as to what a long lasting success means.

It must be stressed at this juncture clearly that a minor achievement or hitting a close target is not the real success. It is only a stepping stone to advance to real success. For example, suppose you don’t have your own house and with manipulation if you have managed your house, it can’t be branded as a true success. Success means rising continuously high on the right track; constantly adding feathers to your cap from all that is good and auspicious for you. This way you are not only doing good for yourself but also serving for your society and country.

Remember that greater the self-confidence the greater will be the span of success of that person. He who is able to identify and arouse his self-confidence can really do wonders in the long run. He can really baffle the world with his series of achievements and he can give the message that if one is firm to achieve anything that one can do and nothing remains impossible for such a determined person. It is due to their immense self- confidence that such persons could alter the direction of the mighty rivers and change the direction of the blinding typhoons. They could step in the space, reduce the distances and control the waves of sound. All this could be a reality because of their self-confidence. Remember, the more you have confidence in your capability, the greater will be the span of your achievement.

However the grievous fact can’t be denied that most of us are neither able to identify and arouse the power hidden in us nor can use it for our or for the world’s welfare. Barring exceptions, generally a common man rarely believes in himself fully. Maximum he can have an average confidence in self. With the result his life is also reduced to just an ordinary existence i.e., to get birth, earn a little, meet basic needs and die!

Now get a clue worth millions from me; people generally repose confidence in such a man who has his self-confidence intact. If you have no confidence in yourself, why would anyone have any confidence in you? No one likes to step on the mired surface!

But when we have confidence in us, the world will also repose confidence in us. Just as love begets love, so confidence begets confidence.

History bears testimony to the glaring fact that the world believed in only those who believed in self. Mahatma Gandhi, Nelson Mandela, Abraham Lincoln like many examples can be quoted to support this point. Our Bapu had a very frail body, but his self-confidence was very strong. He decided to free India from the foreign rule by the strength of his belief in non- violence and he did that. It was his self-confidence and belief in the efficacy of his unerring weapon, non-violence, by that he could blunt the Britishers’ weapons and eventually forced them to quit India. In fact India owes its independence to such self- confident persons!

So, just stand up and arouse your confidence in self which is lying dormant amidst your callous lethargy and start scaling new heights. Have confidence and feel like: "Yes! I can do it! I can do anything…nothing is unachievable for me! Being the progeny of Lord Almighty, I also have an unlimited power in me, which enables me to accomplish whatever I want!

Reassure yourself repeatedly that you have the power of self- confidence. Tell everyone that you have that great power. Having reassured yourself with self-motivational phrases like– ‘I can do this!’ you’ll also suddenly feel as if you have a fresh energy and an ineffable power surging forth. This power has that alter action to draw success, prosperity, and affluence towards itself. You can do so provided you root out your misconceptions, diffidence, weakness, and disbelief in your capabilities that you have been nursing all through in your personality. Having weeded out these negative toxicity from your mind, plough its clean surface with your determination and then sow the seed of your confidence. Irrigate it with you efforts and then see how sturdy and huge this plant of your self-confidence has evolved.

In this context I’m reminded of a story which I want to share with you all.

"There was a jeweler named John Alfred, an expert in making gold and silver ornaments, particularly of the traditional designs. His ornaments were not only popular with the top elite of the state but with the royal kingdom as well. With the result John always remained extremely busy whereas his competitors had much free time as their products had few buyers. With the result, while John sought free time to relax, his competitors craved for work as they had much free time. His competitors had the problem of survival before John’s most favoured jewelry products. Even the competitors tried their level best to score over John, they couldn’t succeed even to scratch his well established reputation.

But friends, time is an everchanging process. Day is followed by night and night by day. Those days also started when John’s reputation faced a marked decline. His competitors thought of manufacturing new designs and shapes of the jewellery, Whereas John stuck to his old designs which earlier had many takers. But their tastes changed with the new patterns created by John’s competitors. They used new metals as well and embedded the gems into them with an artistic flourish. These new styles of jewellery began to appeal to the people. While John began to fight for the customers, his competitors now had a steady stream of visitors. Even when John’s well-wishers advised him to bring about a change in his style, but he didn’t care. John never heeded to his experts’ advise as he was drunk in the wine of his previous success. With the result John’s sale-figures plummeted to the rock-bottom line. Now it was difficult for him to even survive in the market. He had to incur loan to keep his concern going but the conditions didn’t improve. Apart from having a huge burden of the loans, his shops and show-rooms eventually faced an unceremonious closure.

John was stunned. But he was an intelligent person. He decided to analyze his cause of failure in depth. Eventually he found that he lacked in far-sightedness which didn’t let him assess the trend of the market beforehand. He was quite perturbed, thinking that his shortcomings made him lose the well established business. He felt so much depressed that he decided to visit the Church in order to seek the divine guidance. Man generally goes to God when he fails in his worldly endeavours.

When he entered the Church, a discourse was going on. He also quietly sat on a bench and began to listen it. The Bishop concluded his discourse by asserting: If you have even a very little faith, like a mustard seed, in God, you can still succeed and rise high in life.

John felt as though there was a tiny ray of hope for him. After the discourse he went to the Bishop and asked: Father! Do you think whatever you said is even true? Yes, my son! Bishop replied: A little faith on self, even equals a mustard seed, can even move the mountains.

Like the drowning man clutching at the straw, John decided to keep a mustard seed always with him to remind his faith’s in Lord Almighty. He narrated all this to his wife and asked her for that seed. But since it being so small, it was difficult to keep it safe. Now he was thoroughly involved in reviving his jewellery production and his concentration was not on anything else. But he always wanted that mustard seed before his eyes, which for him was the symbol of God. But he found the mustard seed repeatedly getting lost, so he had embedded mustard seeds in his purse, key-ring of the car, ring, locket, and in all those things that remained with him visibly. He was determined to revive his luck with his faith in God, no matter even of size of a mustard seed.

John got motivated and his faith also became strong. Starting from a scratch, his graph again began to move upwards.
