About this ebook

My book is based on my personal life experiences.
I became a mother at an early age. I dropped out of high school. Later on in life, I obtained my GED.
I was in a relationship that lasted nearly fifteen years. When that relationship ended, I entered into another relationship. That was my first encounter with a violent partner. I was also introduced to meth. I became a very depressed alcoholic and meth addict. That relationship lasted nearly four and a half years. When I finally left that relationship, I left with extreme anxiety, panic attacks, and post-traumatic stress disorder.
I stayed single for a few years before entering what turned out to be another domestic violence situation. I left that relationship after nearly four years.
I spent nearly sixteen years lost in a lifestyle that included sadness and depression due to drugs, alcohol, the loss of my best friend at the age of seventeen, and the loss of my father nearly seven years ago.
Drugs and alcohol played a major role in all my downfalls. I found myself homeless on the streets of Tacoma, still drinking and using drugs. I made the choice to leave Tacoma three years ago. In doing so, I was able to get clean and sober.
I’m a survivor of two domestic violence relationships. By the grace of God, I’m free of drugs and alcohol. For that, I give the glory to my Lord, Savior, and Redeemer, Jesus Christ.

My name is Charlisa R. Seyler (Char Rose). I am a Native American. I’m an enrolled member of the Coeur D’Alene Tribe of Idaho. I’m a proud mother and grandmother. I have been blessed with an amazing and beautiful mother. I am also blessed with amazing siblings and nieces and nephews. I come from a large family on both sides.

I’m a survivor of childhood sexual abuse, domestic violence, homelessness, and drug addiction. My life has been a chaotic journey. I believe God’s grace is the only reason I’m still here.

I have chosen to share my poetry from the different phases of my life. I have often wondered what my purpose in life is, but now my purpose is clear. I believe God has called on me to share my journey. By sharing my story, my hope is to reach you, my readers, and encourage you to make positive
