Dearest Jesus take my hand
and guide me down the path you’ve planned
and if I fall or ever stumble
remove my pride and keep me humble.
Let my eyes see the way you see
and let my words be yours in me.
Help me seek you day and night
to pray that you will be my light.

Poetry is an art form that allows us to paint with our words.

In a debut collection of inspirational poems and illustrations, Marion Grace Jeffers lyrically paints images of faith, prayer, hope, relationships, heartache, love for family and friends, and the joys of God's nature. From northern lights to a prayer from a dorm room and to fall leaves and letters of love, her poems invite others to reflect on their own unique perspectives and relatable experiences. Also included are several poems written by her aunt, Lolete Falck Barlow.

Watercolor Memories is a volume of poetry that provides a glimpse of the heart, faith, and memories of a young woman as she matures into adulthood and embraces the heart of Jesus.

Marion Grace Jeffers

With a heart for Jesus, a love for all things horses, and a passion for writing, Marion Jeffers is a rising author publishing her first collection of poetry, Watercolor Memories. Marion began writing poetry at thirteen years old for a poetry-class notebook assignment. She continued writing poems throughout grade school, mostly in high school. In eleventh grade, she entered the Young Georgia Authors Writing Competition with her poem “Child of God” and received an award for advancing to the second level of the competition.  During her first two years attending Georgia Southern University, she entered a slogan contest for the Georgia Southern Writing and Linguistics Center and received the first choice from a student body vote. Throughout her past and present college experiences, she has continued to write poems born from inspiring moments and memories. She is currently a senior at Georgia Southern University in Savannah, Georgia, majoring in elementary education. She is also a certified horseback riding instructor at her family’s stables in Midway, Georgia. Her poetry is written to inspire, encourage, and share her heart about faith, friendship, nature, love, and hope. Within this first collection, she has included several poems written by her aunt Lolete Falck Barlow, who is also a published poet of the collection of poetry Unheard Melodies. She has also included illustrations throughout the book, painted by her mother, her grandmother, herself, and a local artist in Richmond Hill, Georgia.
