My Love Letter to God,
Dear God,
You are my everything. You were there with me. You never not comforted me. You never gave up on me. You have seen my heart. Thank You for choosing me. I cherish every quiet moment we have shared. Your protection in my life have been unimaginable. Your grace has been sufficient. I live only to please You. You have taught me so much about myself and gave me the strength to be who You know I can be. You always calmed my doubts and showed up at the perfect time. Everything is alright because of You. You turned an insecure little girl into a forceful warrior. Because of You I am walking in my purpose. I dedicate this book to my Heavenly Father; without You I am nothing.
Acknowledgments
To the husband of my dreams, what can I say but you are completely amazing. I could not have received a better earthly gift. You are everything a woman could want in a man. You are perfect in my eyes.
To my amazing children who have been with me every step of the way. (Through all my growing pains) You have always been supportive since a teen mom until now you never gave up on me. How I love every single one of you dearly. I am so proud of who you are becoming. I would do all over again. We did it!!
To my family (women in my life), if it was not for you, I would not be half the woman I am today. Your hard lessons, tough love, encouragement, discipline, structure, and no non-sense approach was critical to my success. You demanded excellence and allowed time for me to grow my relationship with God but never let me forget God was waiting for me. I have such great examples of women of God and wives I shall not fail. I owe you everything.
Day 1
Grace
The free and unmerited favor of God as manifested in the salvation of sinners and the bestowal of blessings.
There I was, laying on the ground after jumping out of a moving vehicle. I jumped up and ran across a four-lane highway, bare-footed before a car could hit me. I came upon a restaurant where I could use a phone and a man there asked if I was ok. He could tell I was visibly shaken; I could barely speak from breathing so hard. My heart was pounding outside my chest. He allowed me to use his phone. As I started calling the police for help, all I could do was look around me to see if the person who was trying to kill me was going to come back.
There are a lot of decisions we make in our lives that are the reasons why we end up in the situations we do, some are circumstantial, some are the environments we live in, some are your parents and how they raised you, and even the schools we attend.
I remember like it was yesterday. It all started at about 10 p.m. I received a phone call from some friends asking me to come out and have some fun. I was not really a going out to a club person, but I said, why not
it could not hurt anything. I began to get ready and realized, I needed to call a babysitter for my little ones. I had someone come by. I left and started my night but not before leaving my cell phone with the sitter just in case of an emergency. I did not have a house phone at that time.
After a night of having a complete ball. I came back to my apartment around 4 a.m. When I walked through the door, I saw the babysitter laying on the sofa so I began to go to my room to change clothes so I could check on my little ones. As soon as I turned on the lights my assaulter came out of my bathroom.
