      Chapter 1

      An End and A Beginning

      And that was it. Over! I couldn’t believe the fact that I would never see her smiling face again… It was snowing. Bitter cold.

      Well at least she went out quickly and didn’t suffer much I suppose. Tears fell. My wet face and wet hair shivered in disbelief. The disbelief of a cold place and a seemingly cold world.

      I had just received an email from my friend Samuel, with an offer letter, letting me know that I got the job. My first director position, … imagine that. Me a director of a software group. Within 5 minutes I got another call from my brother Joe letting me know that my mother had passed away.

      Finally, I got to my apartment. Upon opening the door, I saw my roommate Chuck sitting on the couch watching TV.

      How is your mom? Was the surgery successful?

      No, I’m sorry, she passed away just barely.
