About this ebook
Do you like ghost stories? Haunted houses? Haunted people?
I do. In fact, this is a story of my successes (and failures) of haunting the best house I ever owned. It doesn’t exist today, but I still remember sailing through the old place, knowing it was all mine and that I could easily scare the pants off anybody who thought they were going to move in and take over. Little did I know what was in store for me. (I now safely occupy a human body).
Harold Amoroso
Harold Amoroso began writing songs and poetry in his early twenties. After many years of studying communication and the general condition of man today, he decided to write short stories and novels. It is his hope the reader will find comedy, romance, adventure and maybe even a new awareness of life from the stories he writes. He has lived mainly on the west coast of the USA and now resides in a small town in northern California.

The Ghost That Wouldn't Trap - Harold Amoroso
Chapter 1
I don’t have a name. I was called Master Richard Flemington but people are forgetting that name. In fact it’s hard for me to remember it sometimes. I know who I am though. I am the bravest, richest, most successful and famous man in this town.
It was a few weeks ago, (or was it years?) a lost soul came wandering in. I decided to call him Beanie. He likes being around here and talking with me. He spends a lot of time in the kitchen –I think he used to be a cook or something. It’s not quite so lonely now.
My home was a great mansion in its day; three stories, lots of rooms, and full of staircases. I helped design it from the basement to the weather vane. Now it’s getting dusty and broken down, but I don’t mind a bit.
I was out on the upstairs deck reliving some good times when they came. I flew downstairs and there they were –walking in the front door as if they owned the place –a man and his wife and another man I thought I recognized from somewhere.
I don’t mind visitors usually, when they have some respect and call first or at least knock before they come barging in. It really made me mad. I started yelling, but of course they couldn’t hear me. The woman was ooh-ing and aah-ing over the entryway and the chandeliers. The one who seemed to be in charge was talking about how great the place
