    The Revenge - Claire Kim

    1 CHAPTER ONE

    ––––––––

Ever since mom died, grandma had been acting weird.  She became more worried about everything I do.  Now that grandma went out with her friends those days, I was pretty much alone in the house and could do anything I want.

Mom died, grandma was always doing her own business, and my dad always had both morning and night shifts so I basically never saw him at all.  He used to come home very early when I was young... then something happened at work so dad had to go to work in the morning and at night.  Sometimes, he slept at work too.  Oh and I also got bullied in school... a lot... So that’s some interesting facts about me.

Since my mom died, my grandma became more and more sick from cancer and I had to constantly call the hospital to ask what to do.

All I remember about mom was that when I spied on her whenever she was with grandma, mom would always take out this jewelry box and, in the box, would be a scary looking doll.  That doll gave me nightmares.

Anyways, grandma would say, There’s no way, Sarah.  I just have to live with this curse until I die.  I would always hear mom crying in her room and praying for grandma.

Whenever I asked her what was happening to grandma, she would always say, It’s nothing Sarah... Grandma’s just a little... sick.

I knew mom always lied to me.  The look on her face would always give it away.  Her expression looked hurt and sad for lying to me.

A few weeks later, mom died of a heart attack.  I probably lost two pound from crying a lot.  And the worst part was that dad wasn’t at mom’s funeral.  I was so mad at him.  He said that he had a meeting to go to.  I would never forgive him for leaving mom like that.  He had no idea how much I cried because of him.

Unfortunately, grandma died but, before she did, she said some weird things to me.  Apparently, there was a soul controlling her and she was trying to keep it from taking over her entire body.  I stopped hearing anything else from then on.  I thought she was just tricking me to scare me or something since she always does that.  But after a few hours, I came to find out that I was very wrong.

After grandma died, I had no one to take care of me and no one to be with me after school.  That was when I decided to pack my things and run away.  Dad wouldn’t notice... he barely came home.

When I came home, I felt so alone in the house.  There was no grandma to cook my meals... no dad to take care of me... and mostly no mom to be there for me whenever I was in a bad mood.  So, I started searching for suitcases in my room
