    Introduction

I really miss my ex, but my aim is getting better!

Is there anything worse than heartbreak? Probably, but you didn’t buy this book to hear about any of that. You bought this book because you are in pain, because you are reeling from a great loss. Perhaps you wish for someone to reach out through these pages, pat you on the shoulder, and make you feel understood. Well, I hate to break it to you, but maybe you should see a therapist or something, because that type of self-actualization is a pretty tall order for a little book like me. Don’t leave just yet though, because there are other things I can offer you. Cheap gags, for one thing, practical advice for another, and of course, the ultimate feeling of delight and satisfaction that arises when your ex comes crawling back... No guarantees though.

The thing is, this isn’t really an exact science. If you’ve seen any romantic movie ever, then you’ll realize you can’t make someone love you, no matter what. Even the love potions from Harry Potter wore off eventually. What you can do, however, is put your best foot forward and hope that your ex will see what they’re missing. The fact that you’re still reading suggests you think there’s still hope. Maybe you and your ex still flirt. Maybe you still hook up every now and again. Maybe you’re just really deluded, did you ever consider that? In any case, reading a few jokes isn’t going to hurt, and you may find something in here that changes your life.

By the way, I hope this goes without saying, but the advice in this book is intended for ex-boyfriends, girlfriends, and significant others, not for ex-husbands, wives, and spouses. A lifetime of occasionally seeing divorces depicted in popular culture has taught me that those relationships are beyond saving.

    The Benefits of Humor

Unless you’re a robot, or Spock, you’ll agree that humor is an overall positive thing. The only thing that feels better than laughing is making someone else laugh. Did you know there are a variety of scientifically proven benefits to humor and laughter?

    ●  Laughter relaxes your body. Maybe a minor benefit, but more relaxed equals more approachable, so it shouldn’t be discounted.

    ●  Laughter improves your heart’s health. Not enough to compensate for
