Wisdom from Mom - Darlene C. Sacks
Dedication
To my precious children and grandchildren,
May the Good Lord speak
to you through these words and
bless you for a thousand generations
with His Love and His Wisdom.
Preface
At the beginning of 2016, I often felt sad that I did not provide enough advice and wisdom to my children during the years of raising them. It was then that God instructed me to begin to write to them each day during January with the lessons that I had learned during my life.
I had many trials, from my birth to the present, but through the Lord, I learned beneficial life lessons. The wisdom that I received I wanted my children to receive as well. In my heart, it has become my Legacy to them, and, hopefully, generations to come. Many can leave wealth and riches, but none of it can compare to God’s riches from His word.
So, on January 1, 2016, and for thirty-one days I e-mailed my children each and every day. In sharing these words, my prayer is that my children and others, may see the love that moms have for them and our desire for their good. As it is written, Train up a child in the way he should go, and when he is old, he will not depart from it.
Proverbs 22:6 (NKJV)
To all who read these words, I pray you will hear God speaking to you for whatever trial you are facing and that you receive His peace, hope and laughter, knowing He is with each of us, training us and directing us in the best way to go.

Trust
Hi Kiddies:
So, my dear children, probably the first and most important piece of wisdom that I know comes from Proverbs 3:4-5 (NKJV), Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and lean not on your own understanding; In all your ways, acknowledge Him, and He will direct your paths.
When I think on this, it reminds me of the time that Matt was so sick as a four-year-old child. The doctors said that his appendix eventually had to come out, but there were problems with his liver so they could not do the surgery just yet because they didn’t think he would pull through. At that time, I did not know how important the liver really was to the human body. There were a number of trips I made with my little boy to Jackson Memorial in Miami to see the specialists. I shed many tears in that waiting room until they called our name. They couldn’t tell me anything except to wait and, eventually, a liver biopsy would have to be done. The problem was Matt had already missed school for most of the spring months
