Starr worked at a community college as the college librarian, developing a small collection of materials, books, and manuscripts. However, in recent years, students would come to the library not for her skills in collection development but for minimalistic lounge chairs, tables of varying cleanliness, and the consistent WiFi.

But unlike many of her colleagues, Starr Brownley didn’t mind the shift in student focus. Her stacks remained neat and tidy. The library could still count the bodies for statistical purposes.
