We Were Born to Die - Dr. Harmeet Kaur Bhalla
THE BEGINNING
1.
AMALGAMATION
How many colours of dust are lying on this earth?
Everyday God picks them up as he knows it’s worth
The black, brown, dusky, and white hues of dust
He makes mountains of it so that it may never rust
The elixir he pours on them to create countless moulds
Then he solemnly begins the incessant amalgamation
Every single soul will be made into a statue of gold
Every single infant born from the womb of a mother
Will bear a non-identical façade of any one colour
Throughout their lifetime they will live with it
The blended mould will rise and mature with life
In all conditions, human beings have to stay satisfied
Outwardly your complexion will glow, inwardly your soul
The ephemeral body with the eternal soul within
Will come to an end but the soul will travel to heaven
From a mould of dust, we come down to dust again
So, let us greet our body and keep beautifying
