    Wisdom is:

    -Insight

    -Good and moral judgment

-The ability to discern or judge what is true, correct, or lasting.

-The ability to act and think using knowledge, experience, understanding, common sense, and insight.

Wisdom is the art of putting together knowledge,

    information,

    experience,

understanding, and insight received or acquired and applying it to real-life situations to bring about solutions, advancements, development, and improvement.

Solomon was the wisest man and King who lived on earth. In the book of 1 Kings chapter 3, he finds himself with a task to govern a great number of people. Verse 7

King Solomon says, you have made me King, 3

but I am only a child, and I do not know how to carry out my duties. Great was the task ahead of him, and he felt he lacked expertise and experience, and so, in verse 9, he asks for a discerning heart to govern the people and to distinguish between right and wrong (N.I.V

    version).

The Message Bible version says, give me a good listening heart for judging your people and for knowing the difference between good and evil.

The Living Bible version says, give me understanding so that I can govern your people well and know what the difference is between right and wrong.

The Amplified Bible says, give your servant an understanding mind and a hearing heart (with which) to judge your people so that I may discern between good and evil.

    4

Solomon understood and valued the essence and principle of wisdom regarding leadership and governorship. Solomon specifically in verse 9 asked for, a. A listening heart/ an understanding mind. To operate in wisdom, one needs to have a good listening ear that pays attention and a mind that can understand or comprehend.

    b. To know the difference between right and wrong/ discern between good and evil.

There are two sides to the coin in situations and, as a leader/ decision maker, one must govern based on the information received from all sides to choose a more favorable outcome. To make that choice, he knew he could not rely on his own mind but on the wisdom from the Omniscience God for in him is truth.
