When (and why) I came under the spell of wolves
I’ve been asked if there was a specific event that caused my love of wolves. The answer is yes. This is the story.
It was about couple of decades ago, for me.
I was stuck in a terrible Southwest town for a day (no names to protect the guilty!), so I decided to drop in at a small local zoo. The zoo was even worse.
They had one Mexican wolf by itself in a pen maybe 50 foot square, with a shack shelter in the center of it. The wolf was pacing around and
