About this ebook

Many business books have been written over the years and management courses have been taught in countless universities, but too many of them ignore our most important business reference of all: the Bible.

This book reveals business lessons from the Bible so that managers and leaders can lead their organizations to new levels of success. Drawing on God’s Word, the author emphasizes themes such as:

• To succeed in business, you must start with a solid foundation.
• You must kill your ego for the good of the organization.
• Successful people are often attacked from all quarters, and it is necessary to continue explaining who you are in a consistent manner.
• Top managers and leaders “see” with an optimism and hope beyond the vision of most people.

Saturated in Scripture, the author also draws on interviews he conducted with successful managers and community leaders and shares lessons from working for stellar leaders during a long career in health care management and as a community activist.

Arm yourself with timeless business lessons from the Word of God and earn lasting success with the lessons in Management & Leadership.

    Dedication

Jon Lohman Burks left this world too soon. His flame was bright and lit up the lives of everyone who knew him. His torch of love, kindness, humor, and so many other fine qualities have passed on to his children, Jon Franklin and Linzi.

They each have passed the milestone of high school graduation; standing on life’s edge. Their family is so proud of them and their father would be beaming with pride too.

Times, and life, go by so fast. Youth is but a blur. It was only yesterday that you two were fishing out at the pond. Then we see you flying by on the 4-wheeler with a pack of dogs chasing you. Later you are competing with each other shooting targets in the pasture. Savor the day as you prepare for the future.

An author wrote this passage, which is where you are now with your feet pointed towards the future. It talks about children growing up:

"You may give them love but not your thoughts, for they have their own thoughts. You may house their bodies but not their souls; for their souls dwell in the house of tomorrow, which you cannot visit, not even in your dreams. You may strive to be like them, but seek not to make them like you. For life goes not backward, nor tarries with yesterday. You are the bows from which your children
