FIVE SIMPLE RULES
Ellen T. Reed
I
owe tremendous gratitude to my two girlfriends who read and inspired me to follow through with this endeavor. They read the book with consumer’s eyes to see if it would serve the public in the manner intended. To my life coach client: I could not have accurately inserted the appropriate passages that correlate with my lessons without your research and religious guidance. Though I am highly spiritual, you have provided me with your in-depth knowledge of scripture according to the New International and English Standard Bible Versions.
I dedicate this book to my friend, who once posted a picture of a book’s extra-large volume to understand women. No, there are just Five Simple Rules to utilize to find your best spiritual mate.

INTRODUCTION
Dear Readers,
I have chosen a spiritual author name for my pen name for two reasons. First, I believe the name Ellen Reed best defines my nature. Ellen means bright shining light
according to the English meaning, and it is my shortened version of Simply Elegant. Reed is a notable name in my English heritage that I would like remembered.
The second reason is to protect the anonymity of the men I have chosen to use in my anecdotes. My stories serve as pointed lessons, not grievances against these men. I have a great friendship with two of them to this day, which I choose not to jeopardize. It is not my intent to harm them publicly but to help men and women analyze this type of person and decide whether they wish to spend their lives together before they exchange their I dos.
I want to help them and others learn how to behave in a more Christian way. If I were to be requested to speak for the book publicly, I will go by my pen name and continue to leave out their names.
Specific anecdotes were chosen because of their high relevance. Scriptures add a deeper study into the spiritual lessons behind each rule. All accounts are actual experiences.
This book is easily adaptable to both men and women as spiritual believers. While writing this book, I realized how valuable this book would be for an Adulting 101 resource guide for college graduates. This book will impact their behavior as they search for a suitable individual they will marry. I wish I had a guidebook like this before saying yes to my college boyfriend’s proposal. However, if I had, we would never have had our wonderful daughters.
I’m grateful that we can learn from the best and worst of our relationships. I have forgiven each of these men, and I am thankful for the lessons I learned from my experiences with them. They have made me realize my personal needs when searching for a Christian soul mate.
Respectfully Yours,
Ellen Reed

THE PURPOSE FOR A
CHRISTIAN DATING GUIDE
I am a modern woman. I appreciate technology, especially video chatting with my daughters living over two thousand miles away. I enjoy using numerous apps to find the best-priced airline tickets to see them several times a year. I am simply old-fashioned when it comes to dating through technology.
To make my point of comparison, I need to go back in time—about fifty years before technology ruled our lives and we carried our phones in
