About this ebook

‘Twice As Much Tomorrow’ is about the journey of a young lady who fell in love with God when she first met Him personally, in 1974. She was bold enough to tell Him she wanted “everything He had that she could possibly have, and she didn’t care what the cost was, personally, to herself.” He took her up on her offer, and the next thing she knew her life was in a downward spin that was more like a roller coaster! There were funny times, heartbreaking times, and times she felt so close to God she could cuddle up and go to sleep in the shelter of His arms. Once Jesus actually took her for a walk with Him, hand in hand in the Spirit, with tears rolling down her face the entire time! She always told Him that was her biggest desire, and that she wanted them to just walk hand in hand, and talk like He and the apostles did when He was here with them. But she couldn’t talk for crying! To have that kind of relationship with God is worth any price! Take a walk with Patricia and find out what it’s been like. She was given a direct promise from God, confirmed by three ladies, one of whom didn’t even know the other two, and a visiting Evangelist, who she thought she was well hidden from, because she knew exactly what he was going to do! But he needed to give her a Word of Knowledge from the Lord, and would not be deterred. She then spent 40 years in the wilderness before she came to her Promised Land.

There were times she didn’t think she would make it mentally, but she always knew she would make it spiritually. Sometimes she felt like she was barely hanging on to Him by just a thread from His robe, and times He picked her up and carried her for days, weeks, months at a time. Then one night, she woke up to the knowledge that He was right there in the corner by the head of her bed. “Everything will be okay Patricia. It is time. I’m also going to bless you financially.” You see, ‘The Promise’ was never about material things; it was never about finances. It was always so much more! When God says He will never leave you, He means it! You can always count on Him. ALWAYS!

The one thing she’s learned above all else is that nobody can ever love you like God loves you. They don’t have the capability; God created love, and God is love.

You see, ‘The Promise’ was never about material things; it was never finances. It was always so much more!

I want to thank a few people who encouraged me immensely while I was writing this book. Without these three it’s highly doubtful I would have finished it; God placed them right there to do just what they did, to encourage me, and strengthen me, because When the enemy shall come in like a flood, the Spirit of the LORD shall lift up a standard against him. Isaiah 59:19 KJV And the enemy was fighting me, tooth and nail, throughout the writing of this book! I was trying to keep it a secret from my kids; I wanted to surprise them, and I almost made it, too!

Encouragement above and beyond! All three of them!

    To Deanna Reed, my sister.

She encouraged me almost daily, on how the book was going, and telling me she could hardly wait to read it. We hardly ever talked that she didn’t tell me she could hardly wait until she had a copy of it in her hands, reading it!

    To Jeanne Ulbrich, my sister.

She too, encouraged me almost daily, on how the book was coming along. She’d always tell me, I cant write a letter, and here you are writing a book! And I can hardly wait to read it! Hurry up with it!

    Mary Cunningham, a longtime friend.

She texted daily, and would ask, What’s it about? Give Me a run down. How much have you done? How much do you think you have left?

    CLOSING A DOOR

I did not want this divorce, but he never wanted the marriage. When I found out I was pregnant, he asked me if we could just go on like we were, and not get married. I told him no. There was something about just playing house that didn’t appeal to me; I didn’t even like it when I was a child, and it certainly wasn’t appealing to me now that I had a child and was going to have another! I had never loved anyone the way I loved him, and I was thinking I didn’t want to love anyone else this way again. If it hurt this bad; if it felt like a freight train derailing into the Grand Canyon, no; this would definitely be my last trip down Lover’s Lane. I could hardly breathe watching him walk away; it felt like there was something wrapped around my lungs, squeezing the air out of them. You know, we should have more control over our hearts; something like this puts a lot of undue stress on our lungs!

I believe God hates to see His children hurt to any degree at all. He created us to be joyful. He created us for His pleasure, and it never brings Him pleasure to see us suffer in any way! He created a perfect world for us to live in. The angels even rejoiced when He first fastened the foundations and laid the cornerstone of the earth! He asked Job, "Where were you when I laid the foundations of the earth? Tell Me, if you have understanding.

Who determined its measurements? Surely you know! Or who stretched the line upon it? To what were its foundations fastened? Or who laid its cornerstone, when the morning stars sang together? And all the sons of God shouted for joy?" Job 38: 4-7 NKJV (Jesus was the Bright Morning Star, and Lucifer was the Morning Star. Angels are referred to as sons of God.) So, when God originally fastened the foundations and laid the cornerstone of the earth, Jesus and Lucifer sang together! What a sight that must have been! And all the angels shouted for joy! This was before a third of them fell, and there are several legions of angels, each legion having at least 6,000! They were so astounded, so enthralled at the beauty, the perfection, the absolute awesomeness of what God was creating; they burst into singing and shouting!

That was before sin was found in Lucifer’s heart. "Thus saith the Lord GOD; Thou sealest up the sum, (you were the seal of perfection!), full of wisdom, and perfect in beauty. Thou hast been in Eden the garden of God; every precious stone was thy covering, the sardius, topaz, and the diamond, the beryl, the onyx, and the jasper, the sapphire, the emerald, and the carbuncle, and gold: the workmanship of thy tabrets (timbrels), and of thy pipes (musical pipes), was prepared in thee in the day that thou wast created. Thou art the anointed cherub that covereth; and I have set thee so: thou wast upon the holy mountain of God; thou hast walked up and down in the midst of the stones of fire. Thou wast perfect in thy ways from the day that thou wast created, till iniquity was found in thee. By the multitude of thy merchandise they have filled the midst of thee with violence, and thou hast sinned: therefore I will cast thee as profane out of the mountain of God: and I will destroy thee, O covering cherub, from the midst of the stones of fire. Thine heart was lifted up because of thy beauty, (I can almost see the absolute beauty of Lucifer!), thou hast corrupted thy wisdom by reason of thy brightness: I will cast thee to the ground, I will lay thee before kings, by the multitude of thine iniquities, by the iniquity of thy traffick; therefore that they may behold thee. Thou hast defiled thy sanctuaries therefore will I bring forth a fire from the midst of thee, it shall devour thee, and I will bring thee to ashes upon the earth in the sight of all them that behold thee. All they that know thee among the people shall be astonished at thee: thou shalt be a terror, and never shalt thou be any more." Ezekiel 28:12-19 KJV

My heart broke for God that moment. You can argue that He knew it before. Yes. He knows every single moment of every single day, from the dateless past throughout all eternity. He’s in the beginning, and He’s in the end; He can see all of what is there. He is the Beginning and He is the End. But don’t sell Him short. My son died of cancer when He was only in his 40’s; he was happy and in love; for the first time his life was almost perfect after years of heartache!

Do you think that if we had all known, it would have hurt any less? No. Even if I had known from the moment I first became his mother. Nothing in the world, nothing out of this world, would have made it hurt any less. I believe it’s the same with God. Lucifer, just like us, was created for God’s pleasure, and God loved him just like He loves the rest of the angels, just like He loves us. He knew when He created him, what his end would be. But, He hates the sin, and loves the sinner. Still, He didn’t hesitate for even the blink of an eye, to deal with Lucifer when he waged war against Him and against all of Heaven, bringing a third of the angels with him. He cast him back down to the earth. The anger of God that raged against Lucifer and his fallen angels was such that none of them had expected in their wildest imagination! I choose to never see God’s anger turned on me like that!

But we do not have that power. I’m so sorry, we do have that power, because Jesus gave it to us, but how many of us have the strength within ourselves to use it? - when the morning stars sang together, …? If we were able to look into the heart and soul of a person, and know there would come a day when they would, for nothing that we will do, for no good reason or cause, and to the destruction of many, would hate us with every fiber of their being, and try with everything in them to completely destroy us; would we be able to sing with them, and share joy with them as though this will never happen? That’s what Jesus did! Remember, He was the Bright Morning Star; Lucifer was the Morning Star! They knew this when they first created him … Remember though, Jesus, even at that time was God; He was not an angel Who later was promoted up to God, and Lucifer was never demoted down to Satan. No, Jesus was always God; the Second Person of the Trinity, and Lucifer was always an angel, an anointed cherub, Isaiah 6: 1-3 and Exodus 25:20, who became a fallen angel, with no more power than he ever had. His power is nowhere near that of God’s! God’s power is limitless; it has no end, or boundaries! If he was to start pulling on the planet Earth, for instance, as the weight of the Earth challenged His strength, it would appear that the Earth was getting lighter and even lighter, because He’d be moving it easier; His strength and power would be getting stronger to match the weight of the Earth! Everything about God is that way, because everything about God is without boundaries.

When God created Adam and Eve, and placed them in the garden, He came every day just to walk with them in the garden and talk with them. He loved them, and He loved spending that time with them! He had so much to teach them! I sometimes wonder what they talked about; how long they walked; wish with all my heart that I could walk with Him like they did, or like the apostles did! You know Adam and Eve had 100% capacity of their brain then; before the fall. (That’s up for discussion, after them being nuts enough to eat the forbidden fruit! But Einstein couldn’t tie his own shoe laces!)

God shows a motherly side to Himself when He brought all the animals to Adam for him to name. Being a young mother of two when I first read that, I found it so touching, and ‘motherly’. Something a mother would do. So, Father God is showing a different side to his many faceted Person! But, how else would we learn how to be mothers? Who else would teach us? There is no Mrs. God …

He never expects us to be perfect, just forgiven; we need to make repentance something we make time for daily. We also need to spend that time with Him daily. I believe that’s one reason, and probably the most important reason He included the story of walking with Adam and Eve for us to read; so we can see how much spending that time with us means to Him. Find a peaceful, quiet place where you won’t be disturbed. Begin with thanksgiving, prayer and worship, and empty your mind of everything except for God; don’t ever empty your mind completely and not focus on God! You leave the door open for the devil to come in, and you can be sure he will! He won’t show his slimy little self as who he is! Remember, he can appear as an angel of light. And no wonder! For Satan, himself, transforms himself into an angel of light. 2 Corinthians 11:14 NKJV In the Garden of Eden, he came as a beautiful snake, and at that time, snakes stood upright, and were very beautiful; the curse put them on their belly. Adam and Eve wouldn’t have given him the time of day had they known who they were talking to! "And the LORD God said unto the serpent, Because thou hast done this, thou art cursed above all cattle, and above every beast of the field; upon thy belly shalt thou go, and dust shalt thou eat all the days of thy life." Gen. 3:14 KJV

Some people like worship, or praise music, others like to find a favorite scripture and stay focused on it. Invite the Holy Spirit to join you; to fill the room with His presence, and to lead you and teach you as you read the Word and worship. Open thou mine eyes, that I may behold wondrous things out of thy law! Psalm 119:18 KJV

Then begin to praise and worship! Some sing to the Lord, worship silently, worship in the spirit; I say worship how you worship, but always ask the Holy Spirit to guide you in your worship.

After worship I sit with the Holy Spirit to read; He’s the One Who teaches and I ask Him to teach me; to give me Wisdom, Knowledge, and Understanding of our Lord! Then I talk to the Lord, and I talk to Him like I talk to my best friend, because He is my best friend, and I listen for Him to talk to me. I remember when I first started; I would sit very quiet, straining my spiritual ears, holding my breath! But I would hear Him! I hear Him in my heart! You have ears in your heart; most mothers and fathers know exactly what I’m talking about. He always told me to write down what He told me! I still have those entries and I love to read over them at times! I now find it much easier to hear Him, and you will too after a short time because you will learn to recognize His voice.

We married, but I’ve never been able to look back and lay out any special memories, like you would with pictures, and say Oh, I wish that day could have lasted forever! We didn’t make memories, not good ones; it wasn’t a ‘marriage made in Heaven’. It didn’t work; he didn’t like being told what to do, and when to do it. And that’s basically what I’d done when I got pregnant. I boxed him into a corner, but I didn’t realize it then. We separated a few times, but when he filed divorce, that meant we had come to an end, and I wasn’t ready for an end. I called him and asked him to please not go through with it, but he told me he’d met someone else; he was in love with her, and wanted to marry her. In love … I caught that. There was a lump in my throat the size of Texas, but I’d choke to death before I’d let myself cry!

The last time we’d gotten back together he’d made a comment about my new Christianity. He wasn’t happy about it at all; he said I wasn’t fun anymore! I drank very heavy before we got married and we did some partying. When we separated I still did a lot of drinking, and was pretty well known for it! So when I came back the last time, a Christian, no drinking, Church on Sunday, reading my Bible and praying with my son, he didn’t like the change at all. He didn’t say much, though. Not to me. But our marriage ended. Our marriage would have ended anyway, and it wouldn’t have been much longer. But thank God I knew Jesus personally at that time! Thank God I had the Holy Spirit working in my life. As much as I drank in the days prior, I don’t think I would have come out too good. Then sitting outside one day, trying to come to terms with it all, I reflected back on what had been the darkest days of my life, many years before, when I was 16, and suddenly I realized I could get through this! If I could get through those darkest days, I could get through anything! They were like stepping into a black hole and not ever coming out, not ever wanting to; that was eons ago, but suffice it to say, getting through this would be a piece of cake! Suddenly the sun was even shining again!

God sees all the way to the end; He’s already there; He’s all the way back to before there was anything or anyone but Him, and He’s here. He knew I couldn’t go through that without Him, be worth anything to my children, and carry out what He had for me to do for Him. He sees all; He knows all. God makes known the end from the beginning. Remember this, and show yourselves men, (have the courage of your convictions); Recall to mind, O you transgressors, (be deeply ashamed!) Remember the former things of old, For I am God, and there is no other God, and there is none like Me, Declaring the end from the beginning, And from ancient times things that are not yet done, Saying, ‘My counsel shall stand, And I will do all My pleasure’ Isaiah 46: 8-10 NKJV He’s everywhere all the time. Where can I go from Your Spirit? Or where can I flee from Your presence? If I ascend into heaven, You are there; if I make my bed in hell, behold, You are there. If I take the wings of the morning, and dwell in the uttermost parts of the sea, even there Your hand shall lead me, and Your right hand shall hold me. If I say, Surely the darkness shall fall on me, even the night shall be light about me; indeed, the darkness shall not hide from You, but the night shines as the day; the darkness and the light are both alike to You." Psalm 139:7-12 NKJV

I wouldn’t want to be anywhere that God isn’t, so I’m so glad there isn’t such a place! He amazes me in every way. The Lord God gives us the love to love Him with; He puts it into our hearts, and still He is so pleased, so happy, so blessed, that we love Him! He forgives our sins for His sake, and still justifies us; just as if we’d never sinned. I can’t describe how that makes my heart feel; there are no words. I ask Him almost every night to give me twice as much love for Him tomorrow, as I have for Him today! And again the next, and again the next! And if He triples it; if He quadruples it for the rest of my life, and I live to be 200 years old! my love for Him won’t be a drop in the bucket in comparison to His love for me! Nothing we can ever do can ever come close to anything God can do! Learn your lesson early, and turn your problems over to Him; step out of His way, close your eyes, hold your breath, and trust Him. You won’t be prepared for the amazing results He will show you!

We have such an amazing God! He loves us so much! The Father gave His only begotten Son … John 3:16 and the Son came! He came because of His love for us, and because of His love for the Father. He was beaten unmercifully, crucified, died, and was buried. He rose from the dead, descended into Hell, and then ascended up to Heaven; poured His blood on the altar to pay the final price for our sins, and presented us as a gift to the Father because of the Father’s love for us! You just don’t find a greater love than that!

Adam and Eve were given the death penalty because of their disobedience, period. It was the particular tree itself, the tree of the knowledge of good and evil that created the problem. Immediately after eating it they knew; they knew they were naked, and that knowing they were naked was not a particularly good thing, so they made a covering of fig leaves, and they hid from God because they knew He would see their state of nakedness; they couldn’t hide the fact that they were different than the last time He saw them! He would know! What was different? They knew they were naked; they never knew it before! They felt self-conscious, so they covered themselves with fig leaves; but what were they going to tell God! He would know what they had done! He would know immediately what they had done! As soon as He saw them He would know! He would know they ate that fruit! But little did they know … He already knew it. He knew it as soon as they did it. He knew it long before they did it. He always knew they would do it! He knows everything.

Satan didn’t tell Eve that part, that they would be afraid of their dear Lord Who they had once adored … that they would run and hide, in fear and shame, and deeply regret what they had done … No, he didn’t tell Eve that. And he didn’t tell Eve of the price that they, and all of their generations after them would have to pay. Genesis 3:8

There’s nothing to show that Adam was present for the conversation between the serpent and Eve, until the very end, she took of the fruit thereof, and did eat, and gave also unto her husband with her; and he did eat. Genesis 3:6 KJV

That’s the only time he’s mentioned during the whole time of the temptation. Adam was still not guiltless, because he’s the one the command was first given to not eat of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil. "And the LORD God commanded the man, "You are free to eat from any tree in the garden; but you must not eat from the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, for when you eat from it you will certainly die." Genesis 2:16,
