About this ebook

Imagine the warm feeling you get when you are wrapped in a soft and comfortable blanket. We may be afraid, tense, sad or just need to feel God’s love, and somehow that blanket gives us the sense of security. Did you go through 2020 angry, depressed, or sad?
What gave you security through the year of 2020? Has your life and priorities changed though this pandemic? What gave you hope when you did not see any hope in sight? Were you able to tele-work or did you lose your job? Did you struggle every day? When 2021 came, what were you thankful for? What did you pray for when 2020 went away and 2021 came, with the same pandemic?
Only God knows what is going to happen every day of our lives. We can trust Him daily to help us and keep us. But we must ask Him for help and let Him help us. Situations and failures may seem like a disaster, but He has it all under control! He wants us to let Him have control of our lives. God can use our mistakes of the past and use them for His Glory and for our good. When things happen that are not under control, God will keep us anchored – if we let Him. That is easier said than done. Sometimes, we want to go outside and scream because things are not going in the direction, we want them to go. But there is always plenty of action going on underneath the surface and in the Spiritual realm. God asks us to keep trusting Him. He always has our best interest in heart -no matter what it looks like! But we must choose Him to be our Good, Good Heavenly Father, Jesus Christ as our Lord and Savior and the Holy Spirit as our Comforter, Guide, Teacher, and Intercessor. That is a package deal – three in one and one in three.

    DEDICATION

This book is dedicated to my mother who died the day after Thanksgiving in the year 2020. She went home to be with the Lord in Heaven and is out of pain. But the vacuum she left is evident in my life and I am living with that grief daily. She was such a good and Godly mother and modeled the love of God every day. She taught me how to be a Godly woman and mother and I thank God for her.

This year has been a year of such loss because of Covid-19. Our lives will never be the same, and we should never be the same. Our outlook on life should have changed through this pandemic and our priorities should have shifted in 2020. Have your priorities changed, seeing we are moments away from living with pandemic now that we are living in the year 2021?

What are the most important things in your life now? Just being able to live daily and breathe uncontaminated air is something to be thankful for. God is the only One who can keep us through our daily hills and valleys. I thank God that I know Him and allow Him to take care of me. My hope and my existence lies within the realm of knowing God and knowing how much He loves me because He sent Jesus Christ to die for my sins who rose on the third day with all power in His hand. I know God is real and I am glad that He forgave me of my sins and transgressions. I am so glad to be able to love Him and love others with the love of God. I have been forgiven and have forgiven those who have hurt me. I strive to allow the love of God to flow through me to others.

How can I do that? My mother showed me how and I plan to see her and other loved ones in Heaven when my life is over on the earth.

Thank you, mom, for praying for me, encouraging me, and being there for me. Living a life of love for God and love for others is more valuable than anything else. That is what you taught me, and that is how I choose to live. To God, be the glory!

    PREFACE BY

    REV. PRESTON H. WINKLER

The aphorism (cliché’) declaring that we are all on a journey in life is true; and truer still is that our individual journey is not the same as someone else’s. Yet Sherie Bell’s candid publication, Experiencing God’s Freedom, her memoir is a personal and intimate voyage, which invites the reader to travel with her. It is a riveting crossing, consisting of self-discovery, love found and lost, joy, pain, emotional hurt, and recovery.

In reflection and introspection, the author reveals how a new self is born out of abuse and shame. At last, Ms. Bell is willing and able to assume a greater appreciation for her personal worth and self-esteem. Blaming herself for stress and pain was not an option. Sherie found a
