()
About this ebook
Author Charles H. Jones has a song, and he is delighted to share it with you. He seeks to share his inspiration, to elicit and facilitate worship, and to effect transformation. He prays that the Holy Spirit will imbue these words and melodies with the power to accomplish God’s intent and purpose in your life.
I Have a Song presents a collection of Jones’s inspired and uplifting poems; prose essays; new Christian songs, including sheet music; and sermon outlines and excerpts. The music features a soft lullaby, a rousing centennial song, a timeless wedding song, and a new hymn, while the prose works offer beautiful, powerful words of life, worship, and transformation. This collection provides works of life, love, and hope designed to encourage you on your journey.
Much of what I wanted I have not received;
Some of what I longed to do I cannot believe;
But everything I ever needed, Jesus gave;
All that I ever hope to be, He is.
Jesus is everything to me.

Charles Jones did not disappoint! His training as a biblical scholar, theologian and administrator, inter-spiced with his passion and gift of singing, positions him to deliver this masterpiece. He sets the stage for the reader with poetic renditions that are God-honoring. He further delivers poignant pieces of prose; and articulates simple but profound sermon outlines that are timeless and impactful. Each poem and prose reveals the heart of a true servant of our Living God: The sermon outlines unveil his authentic spirit of being a theologian, biblical scholar, but most importantly, a man after God’s heart.
This book will inspire you; encourage you; and challenge you to remain focused on what matters in life: Serving God faithfully; impacting and influencing others truthfully.

Compelling, thought-provoking, convicting, inspiring, and graciously written are the words of the Reverend Charles Jones; the reader finds him/herself engaged in and moved by the artistry of this very fine work!

Eternal Life Missionary Baptist Church
I found this book both entertaining and enlightening -- a perfect combination.
I especially adore the enormous energy, intelligent insight, the captivating conciseness and the depth that went into the sermon outlines and I am looking forward to reading many more. Charles H. Jones’ systematic approach to sermon outlines is both refreshingly new and wonderfully helpful for my own sermon planning.
A powerful read.

If you had the privilege of meeting and knowing Charles Jones, you will quickly discover that he is a person of deep faith. It is from this place of faith that he expresses what is in his heart about God, people, places, events and relationships. In the poems, songs and sermon outlines/excerpts, Charles not only uses his creative skills to invite us to appreciate the richness and beauty of the poems and songs; but he also provides some hermeneutical tools for preaching. Read this book: You will find that he writes deeply, warmly, honestly and thoughtfully. In this book, you will meet Charles Jones and more significantly Charles’ God.

As the title implies, I Have a Song is a collection of poems, songs and sermon outlines. Indeed, the reader may be tempted to read only those portions of the book that are personally appealing: poems or songs or sermons. To do so, would be like attending just the closing benediction of a church service. Technically, you did attend church; but, you missed an opportunity to love God and one another through the entirety of a worship service. In fact, I Have A Song reads like an order of worship service at its absolute best. Lyrical, reflective, intimate, repentant, hopeful and ever mindful of humanity’s need for a personal savior, Jesus Christ.
Reverend Jones invites us to join him and together, celebrate the theological nuggets embedded in the refrains of God-centered songs like, Saved by Grace or Heart Worship. If I Have a Song were a sermon than its thesis could
