"You are needed in this life by those who
know you and those you have not met."
This book is dedicated to my fellow travelers. I wrote this book in gratitude for your presence. Our paths may have crossed for a few minutes or many years. Regardless of the time spent together, you made an impression in my mind and heart. My experience with you was significant in my life. Our moment together, and exchanged words gave me a glimpse of your soul and love. With this compilation of life experiences, I hope to encourage you as you have encouraged me.
Your friend,
Pola Regalado
In Loving memory:
This book was written with a grateful heart for the time spent with my mother, brothers, and sisters. I share a small glimpse of how I saw you. Although, this was your journey, you were not alone. Your presence encouraged me, gave me significance, and fun memories. I write a bit about each in gratitude for their presence in my life.
My brother Rafael. I was five years old when you were 18. Rafael, you were tall, dark skinned, and always walked confidently with your head up. When you squeezed my cheeks you made me feel like I was the cutest little girl out there. Mom bragged how you were out debating in public as a little boy. You excelled in academics and in your profession. From you, I learned that life always gives us opportunities, and there is always room to become a better person. You took these opportunities to become not only successful in your career but also as a father.
My sister, Hilda. I was 13 when you were 25. I think you could have been a model. Your legs were long and slender. I have yet to see someone wear a white bikini like you did. The tone of your skin was the tan everyone wants. You remind me of the actresses from the Golden Era with the beauty marks. One on the outer lower eye-lid and the other on the upper right corner of the upper lip. Your brows had the perfect thickness with a slight arch. Your hair was so black and long it glistened like a waterfall under the sun. As your number one fan, I followed you to the beach, gym, mall, dates, everywhere. I admire your talent for fashion, make-up, nutrition and other beauty hacks. From you I learned to get inspiration and create original fashion designs. Your make-up was ahead of the time with the contours and highlights. Hilda, you showed me the first steps to embracing my femininity. Thank you for letting me wear your stretchy dresses. The self-confidence those dresses gave me, allowed me to have the best looking guy from the club. From you, I learned
