INTRODUCTION
Money is good! It enables one to have freedom of location, freedom of time, and, above all, freedom to do good. Money with wisdom gives one a sound life and a sound way of living.
Most people desire to be wealthy; when you ask them what their purpose in life is, they often say it is to have wealth. This does not surprise me in any way since we live in a material world. However, the route to wealth remains elusive to many. Before I commenced writing this book, many students of mine and individuals I know every now and then would ask me to teach them the path to business success and financial freedom. Some of my students and other individuals I have guided today run their own businesses; others have acquired huge investments, properties, and valuable financial instruments.
Some people resort to spiritism to gain wealth. I am not very familiar with the efficacy of such an approach. In the United Kingdom and the United States, some individuals do Wiccan spells to gain wealth. Wiccan spells are rituals or prayers that ask the divine for help with various money needs. The spells may include the Money Money Spell, the Money-Doubling Spell, the Full-Moon Money Spell, and the Money Knot Spell.
Among these various spells, the Money Money Spell is supposed to be the elementary spiritual money spell. It involves the use of a new green candle, a new white candle, and any mystic oil. The practice requires an individual to focus on and visualise the purpose and wealth he or she expects and then chant, Money, money, come to me in abundance
, nine times. Finally, he or she recites the following words: May I be enriched in the best of ways, harming none on its way. This I accept, so must it be. Bring me money three times three.
This principle emphasises that we attract money through our thoughts and intentions.
The Chinese Dragon Unlimited-Wealth Spell is said to energise creativity, allowing individual practitioners to step out of the box
and try something new—something teeming with potential. It is also believed to bolster confidence and determination; hence, practitioners are said to stick with something until they attain success. In sum, this practice supposedly activates luck energy to ensure all efforts are well rewarded.
The Buddhist ritual for wealth creation involves offering a light stream of water over the head of the image of Dzambhala. Followers believe the White Dzambhala is a wealth-granting aspect of the benevolent Buddha. Dzambhala sits on a turquoise dragon surrounded by four Dakinis, which signify the Buddhist cosmic family and a compass direction. The Dakinis are powerful female angels who help Dzambhala bring riches into the lives of those who do the water ritual daily while reciting their mantras (Om Padma Krodha Arya Dzambhala Hridaya Hum Phat
). When going through this ritual, one is supposed to remain focused while visualising. The chant requires the practitioner to think and visualise that from the mouth of the dragon and from the mouth of Dzambhala’s mongoose will come an outpouring of wealth.
All the preceding examples of spiritual wealth-creation practices reinforce the need to focus, visualise, and act. Earl Nightingale also supports and emphasises this notion; he says that as a man thinketh in his heart, so is he. Hence, anyone can become wealthy. You do not need to be born with a silver spoon in your mouth to become wealthy, and you do not need to have high formal-education qualifications to have financial freedom. All you need to do is follow the principles that have been tested and established since time immemorial.
My opinion on the preceding spiritual practices for wealth creation is that they only emphasise people’s need to follow the basic principles of wealth creation, which cover creativity, innovation, tenacity, focus, and intelligent work. I must state that there is no magic wand for sustainable wealth creation.
My great childhood friend Wei once told me a proverb about wealth and poverty: "If you are poor, though you dwell in the busy marketplace, no one will inquire about you; if you are rich, though you dwell in the heart of the mountains, you will have
