    Kevin

    K evin was three years old when the Lord took him home. It just happened that we had his funeral on his third birthday. We already had the gifts bought and the party planned.

    I was working in the middle of the afternoon the day I got the call from my husband, Gary. He told me that our Kevin has been transferred to a hospital. At that waiting room in the emergency area, they only would tell us that he had a breathing problem. We were only ten minutes away from that hospital, but he was already gone when we got there. We felt numb. They put us in a room where we sat for about twenty minutes before they told us. We went home without our little boy. The death certificate read, DOA.

    Kevin was a delightful, special little boy. At just a few months old, I started noticing that something wasn’t right, and then the process of waiting rooms, doctor’s visits,
