COMMENTS
T he book is about common place occurrence of criminal activities that young men embark upon to get rich quick and enjoy fast life despite their Christian parentage. It revealed how alcohol and drug addiction stimulated the criminals and how dubious policemen and church leaders co-operated in offering dangerous weapons and information for robbery operation to their various gangs in return for some share of the loots.

PREFACE
T he story started with two major characters Maurice alias Dr. Murray and his friend Anderson who were undergraduate. They were truants and acquired criminal tendencies overtime. They relished drinking and drugs and kept company with two young girls they enlisted in their soon to be formed company.
MANDERRAY CORPORATIONS
Which they intended to use to shield their criminal activities which included robbery and cocaine business.
Despite the good parentage of Dr. Murray whose father insisted on sound Christian upbringing, he resorted to leading criminal life and carried out violent escapades with his gang. The operation led by Maurice with his trained gang, armed with sophisticated guns obtained from some police collaborators and vicious church warden –informant, Josephat who disclosed to the criminal gang the logistics and time when sums of money and gifts were to be available in the church after Harvest and Bazaar Sales. The gang struck. Maurice the gang leader stormed the Bishops residence and carried several millions of naira and precious articles after beating a deadly blow on the elderly Bishop.
In the course of sharing their loots, Josephat was not satisfied with his share and so bolted out of the gang. Before, he left St. Phillips Church; he was able to sow a seed of discord amongst the members of the church by insinuating that the Bishop was privy to the robbery as to benefit from the loot of the church money stolen. He did this to shield himself and the gang from the complicity.
Josephat soon left St. Phillips church which was in the suburb to a big Pentecostal church in the Federal Capital Territory Abuja Nigeria. The church boasted of very highly placed personalities and rich men as members and often raised fund in billions of naira.
He was quick in finding recognition in the new church and got a position to know how wealthy the church was. His new gang appear to be more deadly than the former and he informed them the time and where about the money in billions was raised by launching for building a university. But the operation ended tragically as the gang was involved in accident close to getting to the church on the fateful day. The gang leaders were arrested by the police but Josephat who was the informant went into hiding. The search for Josephat revealed his involvement in the crashed robbery which Josephat wickedly incriminated the innocent elderly Bishop of the Cathedral.
Relentless efforts by superintendent Shehu with the combined forces led to the arrest of Josephat who assisted in leading to the arrest of other gang members except Dr. Murray and his partner Anderson.
The two notable criminals in the gang having been black listed as the new police boss could not be bought over, disguised as ladies and went to Benin-Republic. America seemed to be their destination but Koko Promi, a big time swindler whom they met in a Casino duped them although he paid back thrice. A new contact got the visa for them.
They parted ways in America after attempting shoplifting and pilfering. Dr. Murray got connected into drug business with the help of a Mexican drug lord Bruno MAs Romeo. He made fortune although, he became a wanted man in America before he escaped to Nigeria.
Even though, I was asked by the author to vet his manuscript and provided a foreword, I have with me limited time available to me merely commented on some salient aspect of his book.
At a go, a cursory reader will perceive the book as a moral crusade which exposed the melee of our society on what the youths are exposed to criminality right from their early age in schools.
Apart from poor parental, the schools and the society in general do not encourage sound moral values as there is so much ostentatious living through short cut that is often bedeviled with criminality.
This is complement with the indifference of our law enforcement agencies to reign in great deal of some of their members who abet and in many instances encourage commission of heinous crimes and loathing of public funds for their selfish ends. Even then, top hierarchy of the police was not spared in the book for such complicity. The church and the traditional institutions are also to share the blame as they encourage unwillingly criminal tendencies by giving social recognitions and chieftaincy awareness to shoddy characters who dangle riches before them. Happily, the precarious church warden Josephat at last paid dearly for his unchristian selfish behavior.
Mr. Andy Martins should be commended for exposing the societal malady and at the same time proffering solutions in a fictitious manner. His book is very interesting to read, though the events are common place and his style a little colossal to apprehend in its sequence of events and key characters in the book. But that is his style which he unleased to keep his readers in suspense until the end of the story.
However, the high point of the book is how the author has skillfully transformed a youthful hardened criminal and cocaine baron into a priest and good citizenry.
This again is commendable. The book therefore, will be appealing to all segment of the society for its moral advocacy and to youths who could obtain a second chance to be transformed as good citizen.

INTRODUCTION
E Xactly, by 12 noon, the cloud covered the face of the earth. There was confusion, anarchy or disorder and pandemonium meaning too much noise everywhere. In fact, people scampered here and there in search of a hide out with the utmost belief that the world shall soon come to an end. Gradually, it faded and brightness replaced the clouded earth hence happiness overwhelmed and enveloped everyone. It appeared like a joke or a movie, two undergraduates who knew each other in a drug smoking joint formed a vicious organization. The group comprised of two young men initially, later two small girls and others was recruited. The girls were truants of various ages. At the sight of the girls, one hardly believe that they were kids of questionable characters but they were pure villains bearing very hot slogan coded "spare no Mugu in local parlance which meant fool. Their boss, who later combined criminality with cocaine business, lived in a thick forest. He has all the facilities that make one very comfortable in his isolated home where he organized the activities of his organization. However, he adopted all forms of stringency in administering the gang. He visited the city occasionally, especially on serious issues that demanded his presence which may not be discussed over the telephone or via e-mail. His orders can never be disputed or questioned and as a result, as soon as he flew in, he gives directives and fly back immediately. He was like a Lord and passes instructions with impunity like a president of a country. The two little girls created serious impact towards the progress of the organization. Nevertheless, they worked tirelessly to cover their end as per spying on the rich and organizations and subsequently releases their findings and observations as to enable a successful robbery on the person or organization in question.
Systematically, an organization that consisted of two boys initially, sprang to metamorphose into ten within a short period of time. Majority of the members were young boys and girls who were mostly truants, whose parents and breadwinners believed that they were in the school struggling to become useful citizens in the nearest future. The jobs of this vicious organization were of various forms ranging from cocaine deals, kidnapping and robbery of immense magnitude. Their operation involved pure work description and specification and, members were trained on various fields of interest. There was total division of Labour hence dexterity or perfection was inevitable.
For instance, they have expert trained shooters, drivers, map readers, instructors, make-up artist, cooks, expert vault breakers and canvassers of information. Jobs was perfectly shared. Initially, their robbery concentration was churches with the utmost assistant of some wicked and greedy church wardens before they spread their tentacles to other areas.
Chapter
1
M alingo organization was the second name of the criminals that terrorized the country in various forms and styles of operation. The Name was an incorporation of the initiators of the organization tabulated as follows
Dr. Murray as his partners in crime nicknamed him umpired the activities of the organization and coordinated it effectively and efficiently. To write about Malingo group without a little touch on Murray’s background is like one beating about the bush or for clearer understanding, to cook without salt.
His real name was Maurice Okonkwo, born in the late sixties to a catholic family of nine. He was from an eminent background and as such lacked nothing. Maurice was chauffeured where-ever he wanted to go. He was an intelligent boy but a chronic truant.
His father, a former senator, was anxious to give him a decent education and carefully planned his future for him but the young boy do not know the intentions of his father. He felt the old boy,
as that was his usual style of addressing his father, was encroaching into his life and avoided him. As a strong catholic home, the family always say their rosary every morning and evening, but during those periods the boy never cared to participate. His old boy was so furious and never failed to reprimand him although, his mother usually intervened, and gave him some kind of backing, no matter the gravity of the offence he has committed. As a result, he felt his mother loved him a lot which made him detested his father and rarely greeted him. A time came; he absconded from home and was not seen for years. Later, he came home with fleets of flashy cars and so much money. He then offered one of the cars and some cash to his mother. She gladly accepted the gifts while her husband refused his own share of the gift on the ground that the source was suspicious to him. The Youngman did not agree with his parents and teachers and that generated hatred from the teachers in his school. His attitude in the school was very bad hence he was once told to produce his parents. Smartly, he arranged an elderly man on the street for a fee and the issue was settled. Dr. Murray in his secondary school days engaged in small time evil activities such as pilfering and stealing of little things like his fellow students school fees, books, which he usually sell to a particular bookshop whose proprietor encouraged him, with biscuits, chocolate etc. He later, graduated as a criminal in the university. It was in the university he became an armed robber and started mounting road blocks. All these combined to make him a vicious criminal.
Anderson was his deputy and was already in the university before Dr. Murray gained admission. His life style was engulfed in humor but he was sardonic meaning feeling of being better than others. He was a clean looking guy who did not value the duties of his lecturers who worked relentlessly to impact qualitative education on him. As a result, he was a dull brain but maneuvers his ways by intimidating and gratifying the palms of some lecturers so as to pass in the university. He really passed through the school but the school did not pass through him. Anderson should be in his early twenties. He was broad shouldered, short and had thick lips that became too dark as a result of excessive smoking of Indian hemp and cigarettes.
His attitude whenever he gets home deceived his parents to the extent that they will be willing to swear an oath of innocence on his behalf. Seldom, he would dash in and out with flashy car but whenever he was interrogated as regards the origin of such car which belonged to him, he always told them that it belonged to his course mate in the university.
Anytime he was home, he feigned or pretended to be a saint hence super- heads most domestic work and when it comes to prayers, he was unbeatable. Dr. Murray and Anderson met in an Indian hemp smoking joint where miscreants, truants and in fact, unscrupulous elements or people with bad character go to trigger’ their brain. While they smoked, they chatted on how they conceived and carried out their heinous crimes. It was during their discussions that they discovered that they were in the same university, and also share a common idiosyncrasy which meant an unusual
