My journey is documented in this two-volume book numbers 14th and 15th of my series “Christianity and the Human Brain”. My journey is a testimony to Lord Jesus who took me by the hand from being a dismal soul to a renown neurosurgeon and anesthesiologist through a dream I had in 1974 with his words: “Son study all these books in my hand and I shall bless you and bless your patients”. Today, 35 years later, I continue to dedicate my life to my Lord, my patients and the residents I mentor. The fulfillment of my joy is when my Almighty helps me to care for my patients and guides my hand in both neurosurgery and the teaching of coming generations. There are many stories and reflections to share with you. Lessons learned in various topics. It is my honor to share with you my journey and my Joy. The two volume books contain 181 chapters, distributed in twenty sections (ten in each volume) covering major highlights in my life journey. In addition to deep reflections from my own life stories in faith and medicine, topics include Jesus, love, patient care, the human brain, neurosurgery, illness, residents, healthcare crises, meditations and memories over four decades. I hope you, the reader, to take the positives of my journey and find it useful to your own journey as a participant sojourning in this world with me. Blessed are those striving early on in their life to serve our Savior Jesus Christ, to him is the glory for ever and ever, Amen.

In a night back 1974, I went to bed crying feeling sad and sorrowful to the turmoil my local C church. At that time, I thought my future was set to serve Lord Jesus as a Sunday school teacher and have a modest career. I kneeled my Lord Jesus in tears and asked Him: Lord Jesus Who art in Heaven, what do you want me to do seeing my future crumbled with ingoing separation between the priest and the head servant and sundry school servants. You know Lord I love you and I wish to dedicate my life to you. It wasn’t long when my eyes closed that I saw a vision where our heavenly Father appeared dressed as a King, carrying stack of books waiting for me in front of the main door of His Almighty castle. He opened His mouth when I ran unto Him and told me: son study all these books in my hand and I shall bless you and bless yiur patients

I woke up from sleep going in my usual day trying to downplay my dream. Nonetheless next day, I was a different person with so much unusual energy and enthusiasm to read and read and never slipped away. It was my final year in high school and I must get very high score to be allowed to enter medical school. Since that time, I fell in love with books and medicine studying day and night unceasing. I received 100% score and I entered Medical School in Cairo, Egypt. Nothing since then was able to deviate me from intense mission and passion that my Lord set before me. It was to the degree that all the obstacles were conquered giving I am a minority Christian in Egypt faced so much persecution. As all the doors were shutting before my eyes, only one door get opened unexpectedly from nowhere to the degree that all my life was only plane A. Not only I became a successful doctor renown in America and worldwide, but I also obtained qualifications that no one else has it in the world, being American fully trained and certified in highly competitive four specialties including Neurological Surgery, Anesthesiology, Neuro-Critical Care and Pain Specialist. It was the birth of my divine journey in Medicine and Neuroscience. As I entered Medical school during Human Anatomy class, I looked at the human cadaver and asked God: Which part of the body glorify You Most and unique to mankind? The voice came to my brain and it was the obvious: the Nervous System’. Yet at that time, no much is known about neuroscience, it was a mystery and no much to heal or make a difference. It had a pessimistic reputation among students and doctors at that time. For me, it was the window to experience the Hand of God in man and I dedicated all what I had to the Human brain and Neuroscience. In every patient I strive to see Jesus and hear His voice. Until today 35 years later, I continued to dedicate my life to my Lord Love, my patients and residents to care and to mentor. It is the fulfillment of my joy is when my Almighty help me to care for my patients, to guide my hand in neurosurgery and to teach the coming generations. There are many stories to share with you all and they are written in this book, my fourteenth in a series of Christianity and the Brain". It is my honor to share with you my journey and my Joy as my spiritual vision at that night in 1974 never departed my mind. The two volume books contain 181 chapters distributed in twenty sections covering major highlights in my life journey with deep reflections. I wish to the readers to take the good of my journey and find it useful in their journeys as fellowmen sojourning in this world together. Blessed are those striving early on in their life to serve our Savior Jesus Christ, to Him is the glory for ever and ever, Amen.

It was a surprise in my lifetime. A representative came to my office one day and handed me this magnificent honorable blessing signed by the Pope himself. This was given to me from Pope Benedict in 2006, a holy man I never met. What a blessing. I am for sure Not worthy. What a great honor and blessing! Forever grateful, Pope Benedict XVI. Thank you

My mother I miss you so much (Sania Found Michael), my father (Farid Fahmy Ghaly) I miss you so much

My mom and dad passed away years ago but as if it was just yesterday,

They are up high far away from me but never away from my heart,

My dad and mom are gone but both are with me here,

Every day passes it does not make it any easy, I just love them even more as I get to know what I did not know before,

Day by day, I miss them far more than you imagine,

Many nights I cry in tears and I pray that I can just say hello even for just a second,

I dialed their phone number, I memorized by heart hello mom hello dad waiting to hear their voice back, I knocked the door and I rang the bell wishing to say hi dad, hi mom, I bowed down begging for one more time,

I kept trying to use the science graduating from Yale and Harvard to realize, there is no more physical matters, the flesh can not connect with the spirit any longer,

There is no telecom system, Facebook, Skype or internet services, no clock, no day or night and the earthly bylaws are vanished away up high,

I was told repeatedly that neither the spirit nor the flesh is compatible with each other,

How could I live without my dad and mom and I am part of them and they are part of me?

My mom carried me, cared for me and raised me together with my dad made me who I am,

Why that curse of death and why they have to go far as I am about to say thank you?

Why they were taken so soon before I could relieve their lifetime burden?

Why they did not live one more day before I could take some of their pains away?

Why it is always the case, my Beloved Lord? But knowing You care for them eases my unrelenting sorrows and sadness

My mom and dad are angels flying in joy over me day and night,

Around me, my mom and dad give me strength,

They hold my hand and help me from the missed steps

In the times of great worries, my mom and dad come and comfort me,

In the times of loss, my mom and dad still run to find me,

In the times of loneliness, my parent come and speak to me,

In the moments of deep thoughts, my mom and dad guide me,

As I perform surgery, my mom and dad come with my Lord Jesus bless my hands to do the best

At the end of my surgery, my mom and dad wave at me and say son goodbye for now,

The angels always take both of them up but my mom and dad with me always,

Love you for ever my Mom and dad; smile and fly free high

So much you both have done for me, I cannot ever recover from your departure

In the Lord Jesus bosom, my mom and dad with no pain praying for me

All I ask, Lord let my mom and dad rest in your hand and soon I am in Your grace will unite once more

I want to hear from you all! Are you going through the same as my soul is going through?

When I first lost them, I did not know how much I shall miss them and indeed I was in so much of denial. But now after a time passed by it is not the case what so ever!!!

I don’t know why? I never realized that one day they will be gone! I thought they are mine and I am theirs and the bind with them is physically eternal and they never go! O my soul is teary: why you all left me, those who raised me and let me grow to the person I am now??

Undoubtedly, They are taken from us away so soon and I am left alone in a world 1286.png full of turmoil and Loneliness missing the love of my loved ones who raised me from the beginning!!

I don’t know why? I am always grieving in the loss of those who raised me and let me grow to the person I am now!!

I don’t know why? My heart is full of unforgettable regrets and sorrows in the departure of those who raised me and let me grow to the person I am now!!

I don’t know why? I am certainly appreciate them much much more when they were alive, those who raised me and let me grow to the person I am now!!

I don’t know why? No matter where they are, they are part of my soul as I am part of theirs as forever I belong to those who raised me and let me grow to the person I am now!!

I don’t know why? No matter how far they are, I only connect to them and no body else, those who raised me and let me grow to the person I am now!!

I don’t know why? The love around me gets but the love 3403.png gets warm and warmer to those who who raised me and let me grow to the person I am now!!

I don’t know why? When I do not see them, my soul hear them! When I close my eyes, I see them! The more I am told they are no more, the more I bind to them much more to those who raised me and let me grow to the person I am now!!

I don’t know why? I never grow out and I am always living in the memory of those I lost who raised me and let me grow to the person I am now!!

I don’t know why? I can’t help it but cry whenever I remember, those I lost who raised me and let me grow to the person I am now!!

I don’t know why? I can’t let it go when I lost those who raised me and let me grow to the person I am now!!

I don’t know why? I can’t find a way to forget those I lost who raised me and let me grow to the person I am now!!

I don’t know why? But as I get older, I get much closer to those I lost who raised me and let me grow to the person I am now!!

I don’t know why? I cry every night as I remember those I lost who raised me and let me grow to the person I am now!!

I don’t know why? I dream more and more about those Passed away who raised me and let me grow to the person I am now!!

I don’t know why? I think and speak often about those departed who raised me and let me grow to the person I am now!!

I don’t know why? I feel I am getting closer and closer to be those died who raised me and let me grow to the person I am now!!

I don’t know why? I wish never gone and passed away, those who raised me and let me grow to the person I am now!!

Those are my mom and dad, my siblings, my uncle and my aunt, my teachers and my mentors, my childhood friends and neighbors, the silent servants and the helping hands and to all that stood by me, wiped my tears, gave me a bite and a drink, —

What shall I say but look to the life to come, tomorrow with my Savior in a union once more but forever and ever and no more go in that day!

I pray to my Lord day and night to comfort them and to let them know how much I miss them. But also to deliver a special message full of gratitude and thanksgiving!

Thank you all and soon I shall join you up high where you are in the promise land by Our Savior and Lord Jesus our Heavenly Father:

My soul together with my loved ones looking forward for time soon to come;

In a life that shall never end!

To see with eyes that shall never close!

With a heart that shall never stop!

Water that shall never thirst!

Dine with the Lamb of God that never leave!

Mother’s heart: why their brains are so loving

Mothers are so special. The unconditional love, sacrifice and care are beyond human limits. Why???

When our Lord try to find a closer love, he said if the mother forget her baby, I will not because a mom will never leave her child. So Christ love and sacrifice to His children is so eternal and unimaginable.

Mother’s heart is pure, eternal and heavenly. Even in earth where mothers are surrounded with wars of men, hate, selfishness, and ruddiness, mothers spread heavenly love.

While Christ carrying the cross and being humiliated, tortured and crucified by men, the mothers and daughters of Jerusalem woman were weeping. Mothers’ hearts did not find the reason to do so and could not tolerate see Him going through the crucifix. Even the mothers that did not know Him.

It is not a coincidence and it is not hormonal as many think. But it is integral part of the mothers hearts of the brains. It is the breath of God and the love of His Son that handed specially to mothers from generation to generation

I wrote so many stories of mothers of my patients in my books II and III Christianity and the brain I dedicated my third book to my mother story and her life journey as mother of ten children.

It is so amazing to me that my mother unconditionally loved the ten children equally and much love went to her miscarriage and my little sister that died at the age of one years old. She could no separate herself or drop thinking about both of them. She always said, both are pure angels in heaven and I am going to be with them in Heaven. She loved St Mary, the pure mother of God. I owe my life to my mom and dad, may God repose their souls

MR. Im going through something different but certainly have felt the presence of several passed loved ones. I have been and continue to be going through a horrible time in my life but at the same time there have been such beautiful moments, you, new and older frirnds, strangers, passed loved ones, God and Jesus right there with me. <3 <3 <3

JCV. Yes Dr. Ghaly, I think we all go through this. I think it becomes more prominent with us as we age. The older we get the more loved ones we lose. It changes our perspective. We think of the things we should have asked, the things we wish we had shared, the time we wish we had shared. As we age we we realize more and more how precious and fleeting life is. Then we adjust. All the while reminiscing.

The only words I have that will, hopefully, offer you some comfort are those of promise … the promise that He will make all things right and whole again. The Lord showed us in a very real way just how He will do that when He raised His beloved friend from the dead after He, too, had wept bitter tears.

May the love and prayers of your many friends, colleagues, and patients bring you much comfort. I fervently pray that the peace that passes all understanding envelops you like a warm, soothing blanket.

RP. I lost my Mom and Dad within the last 2 years, Mom first then Dad with I the next year, when my mom died from Alzheimer’s, my Dad fell apart and died within the next year. He started getting dementia and he couldn’t live without mom, they were married Mom was 16 and Dad 18. Mom died at 86 and Dad 88. That was last year. They lived close to me, I miss them Everyday.

Mothers are the holiness within our human race! Mothers are the wholeness among mankind! Mothers never die and so is mothers’ Love!

Mothers are made of divine Love and their glory is within

Just know the mother was the only race found worthy in the eyes of God to give birth to the Most High, her creator, baby Jesus, the savior of the world.
