About this ebook

About ten years ago, the author began taking his blood pressure regularly and recording it so he could see how well his blood pressure medication was working. For two years, he’d followed his doctor’s orders but was suffering from dizziness, light-headedness, a lack of energy, and other side effects from taking medication that was meant to lower his blood pressure. He also began documenting how much time and energy he was spending trying to control his blood pressure. His efforts resulted in a perfect record of how his blood pressure rose with specific activities versus when his body was at rest.

Throughout the book, the author focuses on how the cardiovascular system works, how the heart functions, how essential blood flow functions, the various forms of energy, and the important bodily functions. THE TRUTH ABOUT BLOOD PRESSURE explores blood pressure while exposing how many doctors are leading patients astray in their efforts to treat high blood pressure.

    AUTHOR PREFACE

This book contains material collected from five years of research undertaken for personal reasons. I am an electrical engineer, author and researcher with extensive experience in industrial control systems. My cardiologist diagnosed me with hypertension and suggested that I read available literature to get a better understanding of what high blood pressure is. After reading hundreds of opinions in many books, I concluded that, like everyone else, I had a minimal and incorrect knowledge of what high blood pressure is, what causes it and why blood pressure is something that defies description. I also became aware of the evident failure of the mainstream medications which I had been prescribed. Since blood pressure is not a physical item, having the characteristics of neither an organ, nor a biological system, the medical community lacks the understanding to fully comprehend the beauty of continuous blood flow.

I do not intend to reveal or understand the reasons for following an imaginary tale to treat the health of the human being. I find that there are many important points to be made like the multiple billions of dollars industry dedicated to the production and sale of fake high blood pressure lowering medication to treat a fake syndrome. In fact the volume of high blood pressure lowering medication prescribed is one of the highest contributors to the excessive cost of health care in the US. The reason is that established danger level is actually the normal average pressure created by the heart as it performs its duty in fulfilling the requirements of essential body functions. I also have a personal stake in this discussion since my cardiologist tries to convince me to take blood pressure lowering medication due to my age and not due to my blood pressure readings, which he predicted would be going up. The catalyst for this book originated from a personal experience.

On November 2, 2014, while watching a live TV broadcast of Nik Wallenda’s high wire walk across the Chicago River, I experienced the effects that stress has on blood pressure. In the period of two hours and 30 minutes, my systolic pressure rose from 140 mm Hg to nearly 200, as Nik Wallenda, was about in the center of the high wire 600 feet above the Chicago River. My pressure dropped down to 135 mm Hg in the next two hours. The diastolic pressure rose from 65 mm Hg to 110 and then descended to 80 mm Hg. The following plot is of the author’s blood pressure readings produced by mental stress and anguish while watching a live performance of a dangerous act.

This experience compelled me to gather information about the mechanics of the heart and blood pressure. After five years of research, I found that there is no consensus in the knowledge of the human cardiovascular system. Every author expressed his/her own opinions on how to interpret the makeup of the human cardiovascular system and its operation. The intent of this book is to describe the correct knowledge about arterial blood pressure and the findings revealed during this research. My own heart has been the main subject used to complete my research and reveal what I believe to be the facts about human arterial blood pressure.

I was surprised to find evidence of serious errors in the explanation the medical profession uses as a base to make their recommendations and guidelines, particularly when it bases patient care on the wrong opinion, an opinion which it has determined to be the correct one, but which turns out to be nothing more than a fairy tale.

This opinion is based on the belief in the existence of a false systolic pressure. The systolic blood pressure does not exist but the medical community is convinced that it does exists and that it carries a lot of information on the heart’s condition. This can be easily verified by anyone with a stethoscope or just feeling and counting his own pulse. You start by counting the number of pulses your heart makes in
