About this ebook

Throughout the Bible, God has revealed the real reason he created all things. In this book, author Patsy A. Cox discloses the many hidden secrets and mysteries shared by God. She faithfully followed his directions as he revealed these new things, and she began to search and dig deeper into each revelation.

She discusses how the Bible begins and ends with the marriage of a bridegroom and bride from Genesis through Revelation. This relationship embraces God’s one world order that all should walk in love. Cox compares the betrothal and marriage of the lamb to the bride of Christ to the Jewish marriage customs. Each chapter discusses the love of God for his son, Jesus, and the bride of Christ.

God’s One World Order warns and prepares the church for the soon coming of Christ, and it tells how the church will suffer through part of the tribulation. Cox shares this text with the hope hearts may be encouraged as they are knit together in unselfish love. She wants all to enjoy the riches that come from the full assurance of understanding the joy of salvation, resulting in a true and more intimate knowledge of the mystery of God.

Patsy A. Cox

Patsy, like many other in her neighborhood, attended church with her family and was saved at the age of twelve. She lived only as a believer and married a nonbeliever, a life of continual struggle. Her four children were her life. At the age of thirty-five, after learning of the Holy Spirit, in which she received the fullness of, she become hungry for God. She began studying the Word as much as she could. Her obsession for study caused her to learn many things. When she learned of Kenneth E. Hagin, a mid-1900's pastor, teacher, evangelist, prophet and founder of Rhema Bible School, he became her mentor. Also, reading most of his book, helped her to learn much more. This led to a life time of research in the Bible. Over the years, she attended two different churches, and was asked by each Pastor to lead the adult Sunday School class, in which she was allowed to prepare her own lessons. Writing these lessons helped her to understand and retain what she studied, causing her to write all her studies for her own learning and understanding. She began to believe she should take some writing courses, which she completed. Later, God lead her to do an in-depth study of the Holy Spirit, which was wholly revealing. "Tongues of Fire", as in the book of Acts, was published by a company connected with Amazon. She had barely finished that book, when God commissioned her to write another book, "It's all about Love.' This was truly a difficult study, for God was in control, leading her with one new revelation after another. As a teenager, she became interest in the genealogy of her maternal linage, learning to prove everything from documented records. This she does in all her studies.

You will see a few references to The Book of Jasher and The Book of Enoch which are historical reference books as is the book by Flavius Josephus. Many scholars refer to these books for historical information.

This book is referred to in Joshua 10:13; 2 Samuel 1:18; and 2 Timothy 3: 8. The book of Jasher is one of thirteen ancient books that are recommended reading by the Bible. Out of these thirteen, only Jasher is still in existence. The original preface added that Josephus, a Jewish historian, wrote that Jasher is a very reliable history book.

Enoch, seventh from Adam, delivered out the prophecy referred to by the apostle Jude 14, 15. The Jews make mention of a writing of his in their ancient book of Zohar, and in the Targum of Jonathan on Genesis 5:24, He is called the great scribe; and several of the Christian fathers speak of his book as authentic, as Tertullian and others; and the Arabic writer (Flavius Josephus) tells us of pyramids and pillars erected by him, on which he engraved the arts and the instruments of them, and some writers ascribe the invention of letters and writing of books to him." ACKNOWLEDGMENTS

I acknowledge and thank the Holy Spirit for all His help. I could not have done this study without His revealing all Father wanted me to share for Him. Every chapter was new to me, and many times I had to spend hours, sometimes days, in prayer, fasting, and meditation until He revealed to me what Father wanted me to understand and relate to you.

To my wonderful, busy daughter, Valerie McCoy I give a big thank-you for reading and proofing what I have written. She found a few things she didn’t understand, and if she didn’t understand, I knew my readers wouldn’t either.

Thank you to the WestBow Press evaluation and editing department for helping me get this book print ready.

I pray that I have made all His revelations clear, that you may understand what Father wants us to know. For, as He revealed to me, quoting Matthew 24:8, we are in the beginning of sorrows. The tribulation has not yet begun but will very soon.

I pray you will receive what He has shown me and prepare yourselves as the bride for her soon-coming Groom, our Lord Jesus. May no one be left out side like the five foolish virgins.

    MY PRAYER FOR YOU

My son, if you will receive my words and treasure my commandments within you, so that your ear is attentive to [skillful and godly] wisdom, And apply your heart to understanding [seeking it conscientiously and striving for it eagerly]; Yes, if you cry out for insight, And lift up your voice for understanding; If you seek skillful and godly wisdom as you would silver and search for her as you would hidden treasures; then you will understand the [reverent] fear of the Lord [that is, worshiping Him and regarding Him as truly awesome] and discover the knowledge of God. For the Lord gives [skillful and godly] wisdom; From His mouth come knowledge and understanding. He stores away sound wisdom for the righteous [those who are in right standing with Him]; He is a shield to those who walk in integrity [those of honorable character and moral courage], He guards the paths of justice; And He preserves the way of His saints (believers). Then you will understand righteousness and justice [in every circumstance] And integrity and every good path. (Proverbs 2: 1-9 AMP)

    INTRODUCTION

Call to Me, and I will answer you, and show you great and mighty things, which you do not know (Jeremiah 33:3).

Little did I know how true this verse would be when God asked me to write His book. He truly has shown me great and mighty things throughout each chapter—things that I didn’t know, and especially the revelations I could never have had knowledge of without His guidance.

Only believers are given the privilege to know the mysteries of the kingdom. We can know them, and we are to know them if we seek to understand with all our hearts. Parables are mysteries—the things humans cannot discern or discover unless God reveals those things to them.

Then the disciples came to Him and asked, ‘Why do You speak to the crowds in parables?’ Jesus replied to them, ‘To you it has been granted to know the mysteries of the kingdom of heaven, but to them it has not been granted’ (Matthew 13:10–11 AMP).

God requested that I write this book for Him, and His Holy Spirit has guided me every step of the way, many times asking me questions and causing me to search, study, and prove the answer with scripture.

Without my Helper, the Holy Spirit, this book would not, could not, have been written, for every chapter has been new and many times surprising to me. So please understand that this is not a book of my knowledge and experiences. It’s about what He has revealed to me as I wrote each paragraph, each page, and each chapter for Him.

A couple of years ago, He requested that I write all I could discover of the Holy Spirit, the Tongues of Fire (available through Amazon). It is an in-depth study of the Holy Spirit and the many benefits He presents to Christians.

I now believe that Tongues of Fire is a precursor to the book I’m now writing. For I don’t believe anyone can overcome our enemy or survive the soon-coming tribulation without the indwelling help of the Holy Spirit.

Every chapter has been a new revelation. He continually prompted me to write of things I hadn’t known or been taught. So, I must acknowledge that this has been the hardest and the most exciting study I have ever done. Each time He asked me to write of a particular subject, I had to spend hours, sometimes days, in prayer and meditation, until He revealed what He wanted me to see and write. It hasn’t been easy.

He first led me to study how and why God created all things. I had absolutely no idea what I was to write or where He would lead me. I soon learned it’s all about love—God’s one world order. He revealed that His love and the customs of the Jewish marriage compare to the Church—the bride of Christ.

He gave me to understand that the bride must be tested by overcoming the enemy now and during the tribulation. I was surprised to learn that Jesus will not send the angels for the bride of Christ until the middle of the tribulation. And after the marriage supper of the Lamb of God, Jesus will come to the earth to set up His kingdom

    during the millennium.

The Bible begins and ends with a marriage. Thus, each chapter is about the love of God for His Son, Jesus, and the bride of Christ.

I now believe His purpose in commissioning me to write this book is to warn and prepare the church for the soon coming of Christ, and as I have discovered, the church will suffer through part of the tribulation.

Please, I pray you will take this book seriously. Study it, and take it to heart, for we don’t want to be one of the foolish virgins waiting for our Groom and not be allowed into the kingdom of God—one of those to whom Jesus replied, I assure you and most solemnly say to you, I don’t know you (Matthew 25:12).

My hope is that your hearts may be encouraged as they are knit together in unselfish love so you may have all the riches that come from the full assurance of understanding the joy of salvation, resulting in a true and more intimate knowledge of the mystery of God—that is, Christ—in whom are hidden all the treasures of wisdom and knowledge regarding the word and purposes of God (Colossians 2:2–3 AMP, paraphrased).

    CHAPTER 1

    HOW GOD CREATED

When I began this study, my intention was to learn all I could of the works of Jesus, wanting to see how to imitate Jesus as He commanded. However, God challenged me, requesting that first I study how and why He created all things. I knew very little about how he did so, except that He spoke and it was so.

He has caused me to recognize that if we will understand how God created, we will be better able to do the same. Jesus said, the works that I do, you shall do, and even greater works (John 14:12). Paul said, Imitate me, just as I also imitate Christ (1 Corinthians 11:1). This pertains to our prayer life also.

Because I didn’t know how God created all things, I began to fast, pray, and search the scriptures, for I knew my understanding fell far short of what He wanted me to know. But nothing came to me.

So, I decided to do as I had recently experienced. I sat quietly and waited patiently, with no agenda, no lengthy prayer list, and nothing to gain but His knowledge. Thus, believing He would reveal His knowledge to me, I sat and waited.

Also, about this same time, as I watched some YouTube videos, I heard two different prophets say nearly the same as God had spoken to me. Each of the prophets, individually, had also heard God speak to him, saying, Sit and wait … wait … wait (Psalm 46:10), meaning that I needed to sit in His presence, be still, and meditate on God until He revealed what He knew I needed. Jesus said that God knows our need before we ask (Matthew 6:8). Yet we must ask.

I believe His purpose in causing us to wait is to challenge us, wanting to test our willingness to be patient for as long as it takes, and that as we wait expectantly, He will give us an answer. We don’t have to talk every time we come to Him. As He told Joshua before entering Canaan, we must meditate on His word day and night. (Joshua 1:6–9)

God is not a fast-service God, similar to a McDonalds or Wendy’s, as so many have come to expect: I should get what I want when I ask. That’s not how God works! We Christians have become a spoiled generation, not willing to wait for God’s timing.

    So, on a Monday morning in my prayer time, I told God what I wanted, sat quietly, and meditated on Him and His Word. It worked! Nearly two hours later, He revealed to me what He knew I needed and how I must put this project together. And it all began;

    Before Creation

God has shown me that if we don’t understand creation, we’ll not understand how He created or how we should imitate Him. He did not suddenly, one day, get an idea, decide to create a bunch of things, and then speak, causing it to happen. Also, He probably didn’t create all things in six twenty-four-hour days, as we interpret the account in Genesis. For to God, one day is as a thousand years, and a thousand years as one day (2 Peter 3:8). Strong’s Concordance defines the Hebrew word day in Genesis 1 as not necessarily meaning time as in hours, but as in an age or a period in history.

When we understand the how of creation, we gain a basic understanding of our relationship with God and our ability to do as Jesus did. With this knowledge, we begin to see a greater purpose, and a greater meaning in and for our own lives.

Greek scholars have explained that the true translation of Mark 11:22 is Have the faith of God!; this is printed only in the Douay Rheims 1899 American Edition. This was also explained to Evangelist Kenneth E. Hagin by a scholar of Hebrew and Greek. And, we must think of ourselves as having the Mind of Christ (1 Corinthians 2:16).

My conclusion was that if we have faith in God, we are putting all out petitions in God’s hands, expecting Him to do all that we ask. But if we have the faith of God, we are using our God-given right and authority, in Jesus’s name, to proclaim and declare our desire (and it shall be done).

Then Jesus answered and said to them, "Most assuredly, I say to you, the Son can do nothing of Himself, but what He sees the Father do; for whatever He does, the Son also does in like manner. (John 5:19)

Do you not believe that I am in the Father, and the Father in Me? The words that I speak to you I do not speak on My own authority; but the Father who dwells in Me does the works. (John 14:10)

For assuredly, I say to you, whoever says to this mountain, ‘Be removed and be cast into the sea,’ and does not doubt in his heart, but believes that those things he says will be done, he will have whatever he says. (Mark 11:23)

It is possible to translate this Greek text as, Have the God-like faith or Have the God kind of faith. Faith is not what our soul or mind thinks, but what our spirit knows. These are two different parts of our being; the soul is our mind, will, and emotions, and the spirit is the very heart of our being—the real me. My spirit looks and is shaped just like the clay house God formed for me to live in. My clay house will wear out, but my spirit remains forever with God.

God is a God of order (1 Corinthians 14:40). He created all things and placed them in a right order. When we consider the verses in Genesis 1, we can see that He didn’t create all things at the same time. When He was finished, God saw everything that He had made, and it was very good.

However, Satan deceived Adam and Eve, gained control of the world, all the people, and made a different kingdom, one without order, where the light of our understanding is as thick darkness. A land as dark as darkness itself as the shadow of death, without any order, where even the light is like darkness (Job 10:22).

God tells us through Isaiah, You are My witnesses and My servant whom I have chosen, that you may know and believe Me, and understand that I am He. Before Me there was no God formed, nor shall there be after Me (Isaiah 43:10).

In the beginning God (Elohim) created [by forming from nothing] the heavens and the earth. The earth was formless and void or a waste and emptiness, and darkness was upon the face of the deep [primeval ocean that covered the unformed earth]. The Spirit of God was moving (hovering, brooding) over the face of the waters. (Genesis 1:1–2 AMP.) The footnote in Genesis 1:2 AMP says the earth had no clearly discernible features at this point in creation but essentially was a mass of raw materials. This proves to be very important from philosophical and scientific viewpoints because it documents the fact that the raw matter of the earth—and by extension, of the universe—did not coexist eternally with God but was created by Him ex nihilo (from out of nothing).]

Concerning the word Elohim, besides Genesis 1:1, we see it also in Genesis 33:20, where He erected an altar and called it El-Elohe-Israel (God, the God of Israel). From Strong’s Concordance we learn that "El means God, Elohe means the God we worship, and im" makes the word plural, as does the s or es added to our English words. Therefore, we worship God, the God of Israel.

Clearly, we know He made the heavens with their many stars, the sun and moon, and all the planets—which includes the earth—before He created anything on the earth, and before He formed man. However, did He just speak them into existence? Yes and no.

When I consider Your heavens, the work of Your fingers, the moon and the stars, which You have ordained (designed). (Psalm 8:3)

Of old You laid the foundation of the earth, and the heavens are the work of Your hands. (Psalm 102:25)

The sea is His, for He made it; and His hands formed the dry land. (Psalm 95:5)

I made the earth and created man upon it. I, with My hands, stretched out the heavens, and I commanded all their host. (Isaiah 45:12 AMP)

You, Lord, laid the foundation of the earth in the beginning, and the heavens are the works of Your hands. (Hebrews 1:10 AMP)

To me, these verses speak of a very different way of creation than we have believed all these centuries. Yes, He may have spoken the words, but David, Isaiah and Paul say God designed, formed, and molded the planets, earth, moon, and stars with His fingers and hands. Also, He commanded His host. The word host is a translation of the Hebrew word sabaoth, meaning armies—a reference to the angelic armies of heaven. Yes, God created the angels before He created the earth. (I’ll explain this later.)

All that is in the three heavens (2 Corinthians 12:20), God created, and the word David spoke, ordained, can mean He designed them all. To design something, we, in our human form, know we must develop a plan on paper—a drawing to show the outlines, the measurements, and functions or workings of a building, garment, or other object before it is built or completed. We must have a blueprint, a pattern—something someone has put a lot of thought into—especially when we know we have only one chance to get it right and it must last for a very long time. When I consider how this applies to writing, I know that Father had a goal, a purpose for me. Then, as I put His thoughts on paper, I had to make corrections and/or additions, at His direction, until I got the words and the phrases as He purposed. It took a lot of time, listening, planning, searching, and researching.

Also, if we will accept and understand, God did not just speak all things into existence. David, Isaiah, and Paul said He used His fingers and hands. I also believe His angels had a part in the creation, for God asked Job, Where were you when I laid the foundations of the earth? -— When the morning stars sang together, and all the sons of God shouted for joy? (Job 38:4, 7).

God is speaking of His angels in Isaiah. He speaks of king Cyrus, one hundred fifty years before he was born, as the man who would accomplish God’s plan for Israel.

Thus, says the Lord, The Holy One of Israel, and his Maker: ‘Ask Me of things to come concerning My sons; And concerning the work of My hands, you command Me. I have made the earth, and created man on it. I—My hands—stretched out the heavens, and all their host I have commanded. I have raised him up in righteousness, and I will direct all his ways; He shall build My city and let My exiles go free, not for price nor reward,’ says the Lord of hosts (Isaiah 45:11–13).

God can and does speak to His host of angels, for He is speaking of them when He states he created the heavens and there were only angels to command. The word host in the above verse refers to a mass, an army, or servants (Strong’s Exhaustive Concordance to the Bible). Lucifer was created as an angel and is termed as a fallen angel along with the angels that followed him. God says, How you have fallen from heaven, O morning star, son of the dawn! (Isaiah 14:12). Morning star refers to something very bright and shining. Dawn refers to the beginning of the day or the age.

How you are fallen from heaven, O Lucifer, son of the morning! How you are cut down to the ground, you who weakened the nations! (Isaiah 14:12)

And another sign appeared in heaven: behold, a great, fiery red dragon having seven heads and ten horns, and seven diadems on his heads. His tail drew a third of the stars of heaven and threw them to the earth. And the dragon stood before the woman who was ready to give birth, to devour her Child as soon as it was born. (Revelation 12:3, 4)

As for the mystery of the seven stars which you saw in My right hand, and the seven golden lampstands: the seven stars are the angels (divine messengers) of the seven churches, and the seven lampstands are the seven churches. (Revelation 1:20 AMP)

I do not believe that every mention of stars or the host is a mention of angels, but I do believe it is quite likely that some of the star passages do refer to angels, and others to literal stars.

When God says, And the stars shall fall from heaven (Matthew 24:29), does He mean the literal stars we see, which has happened numerous times, or the heavenly host? For the angel’s appearance was like lightning, and his clothes were as white as snow (Matthew 28:3).

God calls angels stars, and we know that some angels have fallen from heaven. Will there be other angels that will fall? If Satan and his following of angels have fallen, can other angels still fall as they did? The stars we see falling—might they be angels still falling? Just wondering.

In His great wisdom, God planned the many galaxies, planets and stars in the heavens, placing them exactly where He knew they should be, in a right order, to ensure a balance and flow in the whole of the universe.

The Lord by His wisdom has founded the earth; By His understanding He has established the heavens (Proverbs. 3:19 AMP).

Do you understand what Solomon said? God used His wisdom and understanding to create. In the beginning, the earth was empty and without form, meaning it was vacant and without arrangement. It was only a barren planet like all the rest. He also had to place it the correct distance from the sun and moon so the beings He would place on it would not get too hot or too cold. We call this planet Earth.

This planet He would design and decorate to make more beautiful than all the other planets, for a very special purpose. It’s the only planet we know of that has life—and not just life, but intelligent life, able to know and speak to God, making it doubly unique. Even though He made it beautiful, the movements of the earth’s crust are not by happenstance, with its earthquakes, typhoons, cyclones and tsunamis. Scientists have known for some time that the earth’s crust created our planet’s towering mountain ranges, low valleys, and deep oceans. Also, God has also used this crust to pour out His wrath.

Then the earth shook and trembled; The foundations of the hills also quaked and were shaken, because He was angry. (Psalm 18:7)

Therefore, I will shake the heavens, and the earth will move out of her place, in the wrath of the Lord of hosts and in the day of His fierce anger. (Isaiah 13:13)

See that you do not refuse Him who speaks. For if they did not escape who refused Him who spoke on earth, much more shall we not escape if we turn away from Him who speaks from heaven, whose voice then shook the earth; but now He has promised, saying, Yet once more I shake not only the earth, but also heaven. Now this, ‘Yet once more,’ indicates the removal of those things that are being shaken, as of things that are made, that the things which cannot be shaken may remain. Therefore, since we are receiving a kingdom which cannot be shaken, let us have grace, by which we may serve God acceptably with reverence and godly fear. (Hebrews 12:25–28)

The intense heat in the center of the earth, working like a pressure cooker, must expel the heat at times, causing volcanos, which I have discovered are surely God’s anger.

For a fire is kindled in My anger, and shall burn to the lowest hell; It shall consume the earth with her increase, and set on fire the foundations of the mountains. (Deuteronomy 32:22)

He has made everything beautiful in its time. Also, He has put eternity in their hearts, except that no one can find out the work that God does from beginning to end. (Ecclesiastes 3:11)

The mystery which was hidden [from angels and mankind] for ages and generations but has now been revealed to His saints (God’s people). (Colossians 1:26 AMP)

We cannot find out the works of God by our own reasoning, study, or research, but He can reveal it to whomever He pleases. Scientists may see into the great distance and know that it is, but they cannot find out how it came to be.

We know from the scriptures that God created the heavens, which includes the earth. We also know that God has always been. And there is no way of knowing how long it took Him to plan the creation of all things. Nor do we know when Elohim—Father, Son, and Holy Spirit—agreed to the final plan.

This is He who came by water and blood—Jesus Christ; not only by water, but by water and blood. And it is the Spirit who bears witness, because the Spirit is truth. For there are three that bear witness in heaven: The Father, the Word, and the Holy Spirit; and these three are one. And there are three that bear witness on earth: The Spirit, the water, and the blood; and these three agree as one (1 John 5:6–8).

The Greek word translated as one means to agree. There is only one God, and He is Father. His Hebrew name is El. Adding the letter oha forms the word "Eloha meaning, the God whom we worship, and the added im" makes the word plural, as the s or es does for our words (Strong’s Exhaustive Concordance to the Bible). Jesus, the Son and the Holy Spirit, were with Father in the beginning, each in agreement with the Father. So how did God create? As He explained to me, he did so by meticulous planning.

    Meticulous Planning

    Did God just get a thought in His mind and speak it? Or did He desire, imagine, and envision having a universe with one planet full of growing things and beings made like Himself to manage it? This brings us back to;

Jesus answering, saith to them: Have the faith of God.– I say to you, that whosoever shall say to this mountain, be thou removed and be cast into the sea, and shall not stagger in his heart, but believe that whatsoever he saith shall be done; it shall be done unto him (Mark 11:22–23 DRA).

Do you understand? God knew what He spoke would be done. Why? because He knew his angels would do whatever He said. Bless the Lord, you His angels, who excel in strength, who do His word, heeding the voice of His word.(Psalm 103:20).

Believers in Jesus Christ have been given the same power and authority as God gave to Adam. We are to have the same kind of faith God has. Then if we believe whatsoever, we say shall be done; it shall be done unto us (Mark 11:23), whether negative or positive, good or bad. Life and death are in the power of the tongue (Proverbs 18:21).

If you don’t want it to rain on your parade, don’t say, It will probably rain; it always does. Don’t say, I’ll die before I’m forty. Don’t say, The only thing I fear is pain. I have heard people, friends and family, say these things, and they came true. Don’t speak your doubts; take control of your thought, your words. Cast out all negative thoughts; we have the right to command them to be gone. The negative words we speak open the door to allow the satanic angels to do whatsoever we say. But positive godly words put God’s angels to work, just as God did in the beginning. Satan is a rebellious angel and will do for us whatsoever we speak.

Bless the Lord, you His angels, you mighty ones who do His commandments, obeying the voice of His word! (Psalm 103:20 AMP)

Did God know that this one planet could not survive alone—that there must be other planets arranged in a right order to support the earth? Did He visualize how He might arrange this soon-to-be beautiful planet called earth, and what it might look like? Did He ponder, deep in thought, how He would design this large ball of soil, rock, and water?

Might He have deliberated, meticulously planned, knowing the exact specifications, seeing a vision in His mind of the blueprint, the plan revealing every detail, before He spoke? And the design must accommodate the beings He planned to put on this planet—beings that would manage His garden, Eden.

I believe God’s love is so huge that He needs to love others and needs others to love Him. He had a desire to have a being made in His image, but first He must create a place for them to live—a place where He could cull out the bad from the good. He knew that some would disobey, just as the angels had been rebellious. So, offering all beings the choice to obey or disobey, He would give them the opportunity to choose. This also opens a way to select whom He keeps and whom He rejects. Remember the last two chapters in Revelation? God will renew heavens and earth; for the first heaven and the first earth will pass away from His memory and ours, leaving only God’s chosen followers.

I believe this looks very much like a man deeply in love with the beings He planned to put on the earth, wanting to give her a flawless, picture-perfect place to live. And He would design exact plans to build it to her liking and needs.

Man, made in the image and likeness of God, are designers of houses, towers, garments, and equipment. We design everything with someone else in mind, including things that another may use, and even books that others might learn from. Can you imagine what the world would be if Moses, the prophets and Apostles had not written books?

We know He had an exact design and measurements for the tabernacle in the wilderness, which He told Moses to build exactly as he saw it in heaven. (Exodus 25:9). And when David planned to build God a permanent temple, David reported, All this, the Lord made me understand in writing, by His hand upon me, all the works of these plans (1 Chronicles 28:19).

By these two examples, we see that God had specific, detailed plans for the construction of the tabernacle and the temple. Might He also have had exact plans in designing the heavens, which includes the earth?

I believe He did. And God expects His humans to do as He does—to imitate Him. Maybe he expects us not so much to build a universe, but rather to make meticulous plans in whatever we desire. We are to become imitators of God [copy Him and follow His example], as well-beloved children [imitate their father] (Ephesians 5:1 AMP).

We shall not learn to imitate the detestable (repulsive) practices of the nonbelieving nations. (Deuteronomy 18:9) These nations are governed by Satan, the prince of the power of this air, and his evil host of angels that works in the children of unbelief (Ephesians 2:2).

Solomon, the wisest man on earth, wrote many proverbs of wisdom. By the inspiration of God, he wrote, The plans of the diligent lead surely to plenty, but those of everyone who is hasty, surely to poverty (Proverbs 21:5).

To me, this says that if God will have His structures built exactly as He wills, and He tells man to be meticulous, not to be hasty in his own plans and endeavors, God surely had specific, detailed plans and was not hurried in His own plans to create all things. He surely would not tell us to do anything that He would not do. God’s plans for the creation of the heavens, which include the earth, were made with meticulous detailed planning. But did He make these plans alone?

    With Counsel

I believe God counseled with His Son and Holy Spirit, before He set in motion His ideas, for they do all things together in agreement, as one.

Without counsel, plans go awry, but in the multitude of counselors they are established (Proverbs 15:22).

As the three sat around their council table, they formed their views and thoughts, making exact plans for each planet—its placement and function.

Using Strong’s Exhaustive Concordance to get a clearer understanding of the word counsel in this text, I have arrived at a version of what I perceive this verse tells us, even though it speaks of our need for God’s counsel. Yes, we must seek His counsel as we make our plans.

Counsel means to consult with another; and as they consulted together, they planned, using the good advice of this counsel and of His heart’s vision. His plans were established.

Jesus explained in a parable what will happen when we don’t plan ahead and what we can expect when we do plan. This is another place where Jesus is showing us how to imitate God.

Whoever comes to Me and hears My sayings and does them, I will show you whom he is like: He is like a man building a house, who dug deep and laid the foundation on the rock. And when the flood arose, the stream beat vehemently against that house, and could not shake it, for it was founded on the rock. But he who heard and did nothing is like a man who built a house on the earth without a foundation, against which the stream beat vehemently; and immediately it fell. And the ruin of that house was great. (Luke 6:47–49)

I believe this parable is also referring to whether we build our faith of the rock, Jesus, or on earthly or fleshly reasoning. Accurate, meticulous, unhurried planning determines whether we will fail or succeed. We must desire or need God’s wisdom and understanding for a good life, healing, success, and the fulfillment of all our needs. Whatever we desire, will we build it on earthly wisdom or on the Word, the Rock—Jesus? Jesus asked His disciples, Who do people say I am and who do you say I am? Peter answered, You are the Christ (Mark 8:29).

Jesus told this parable and then explained that the rock upon which we, the church, are built, is the revelation Peter had. Peter’s name means a (piece of) rock (Vine’s Expository Dictionary of Old and New Testament Words). The Church is not built upon Peter but upon the revelation Peter had. Jesus is the Son of God, the solid Rock in which we build our faith; He is the Revelator.

For which of you, intending to build a tower, does not sit down first and count the cost, whether he has enough to finish it—lest, after he has laid the foundation, and is not able to finish, all who see it begin to mock him, saying, This man began to build and was not able to finish? Or what king, going to make war against another king, does not sit down first and consider whether he is able with ten thousand to meet him who comes against him with twenty thousand? Or else, while the other is still a great way off, he sends a delegation and asks conditions of peace. So likewise, whoever of you does not forsake all that he has cannot be My disciple. (Luke 14:28–33)

Do we imitate God in our planning? Do we ever plan anything? Do we follow through with our plans? Counting the costs is more than money. We must consider whether it will be useful, and how much time and effort it will take. Could this not also apply to God as He planned creation? God, in the eternity before creation, counseled with others. Could this also apply to our prayer life? Planning ahead, searching for scriptures that fortify our prayers will save us much embarrassment, heartache and shame because our prayer was not answered.

In the wilderness, God became so angry with Israel that He threatened to destroy her and counseled with Moses. But Moses interceded on behalf of Israel, explaining that the Egyptians would laugh at Him because He wasn’t able to finish what He had sworn to do. We were made in His image, but it is surprising to me how much He is like us.

And the Lord said to Moses, "I have seen this people, and indeed it is a stiff-necked
