About this ebook

We are living in a world of uncertainty. The survival of the species globally through environmental catastrophes and terrorism, the breakdown of family through inequality and a systemic change of priorities, the oxymoron of the Holy War all impact on our sense of well-being and security. Yet we may by the grace of God experience a metamorphosis akin to the butterfly who has but a brief moment to explore life. From gangly awkward children we can emerge into beautiful creatures living in peace with our fellow humans. Unless we choose the path of eliminating fellow man or woman, country against country which only reinforces Biblical Prophecy. This is the learning place and there is a reason for everything which we may only see in hindsight. You are unconditionally loved. Death is not definitive. I am that I am. We are divine simply by being.

MEXICO - Acrylic Painting/Collage by Jill Rosier Astall

    DEPARTURE

Heaven is only one cloud away

    Look, there’s the turret

    Blue and sky white

    Stained glass reflecting

    Cars, dogs, people

    Horizons like stanza’s of prose

    Blue sky white

    Don’t look down

    Go with it

    Lifting lightly

You’re in the blue wispy cloud

    Breathe

    Nearly there

    We’ll land soon

    On a super moon

    Eclipsing all you’ve known before

    No

    Don’t cry

    You haven’t lost anything

    You’ve punched through the stratosphere

    Intense gravitation

    Embrace the energy

    Of the blood moon

And the buried souls of Mexico

    Transcend through white vapour

    Wafting in azure skies

    Welcome

    Come

    Find peace

    Rest

    No, no

    Don’t look back

    All is gone

    But look up

    Here

    By your side

The others come to welcome you

For you, my love, are home

    REFLECTIONS

    Homesick

    The flight of birds

    To homelands gone

    Carrying bonds of love

    Memories vague

I can no longer see their faces

I can no longer hear them speak

    Alone

    Castaway

    Of no use

    The last bauble, broken

    Decrepit

    Vacuous

    Shut up

    Shut out

    Void

    Below

    A painting of a nude

    Briefly fertile

    Throw it out

    It’s had its day
