About this ebook

My purpose for writing this book is to educate people about the history and the dangers of abortion. To also awaken the church to its responsibility to defend the helpless, which are our per-born babies in the womb. The church can no longer be a voiceless church which does not stand up and advocate for our babies in the womb. Abortion has never been a political issue, it is a life issue. My ultimate objective is to expose the deceit and the lies of Planned Parenthood founder Margaret Sanger.

Margaret Sanger plotted and planned a genocide of a particular group, black people in the United States. Even though abortion has hurt every ethnic group in the United States and abroad, it has disproportionately murdered more black babies in the womb than any other race of people in the United States. And lastly, this book is about hope for the future. I firmly believe, by the grace of God, just like slavery came to an end in the United States, there can be an end to abortion in the United States of America and the world. I believe that abortion is the civil rights issue of our day, and what is needed now is a New Civil Rights Movement, the abolition and ending of abortion.

    DEDICATION

As I begin this book I would like to introduce you to an incredible young man, his name is Alsaith William Childs, he is probably tall and looks like my nephew Alfred Childs Jr. Alsaith is actually my nephew as well, he lives in a beautiful place called heaven. The Lord allowed him to go to heaven on February 23, 1997. My sister Shanna Childs, who is Alsaith’s mother, shared this story with me. In her own words, she was 8 months pregnant, with Alsaith:

On February 14, 1997, my husband and I had our first ultrasound and found out we were having a baby boy. The following week on February 23, 1997, I was rushed to the emergency room only to find out the strong heartbeat we heard a week earlier had stopped. The doctors told us that our baby boy was now stillborn. My heart began to ache terribly. How could this happen to us. I had to be put into labor, I was having a natural birth. I think that was the hardest part. I was in labor for 8 hours and before giving birth, knowing that the baby would be dead was also hard for me. After delivery the nurses and doctor asked if I wanted to see the baby. I was confused, and didn’t know if I wanted to say goodbye, I knew I wanted to say hello to my second born. He had 10 fingers, 10 toes and he looked exactly like my oldest son. On February 26, 1997, it was a cold day that I’ll never forget and we laid Alsaith to rest. My life was never the same, I constantly think of him. What would he have become, how would he have looked, every Birthday I think of him. Alsaith will never be forgotten.

I can remember this day like it was yesterday. I received a call that my sister Shanna’s, baby was stillborn. Sadness filled my heart. I prayed for Shanna, that Jesus by way of the Holy Spirit would comfort her heart and heal every broken place. And that the Lord would give a strong assurance that her baby boy was safe with Jesus. However, on February 26, 1997, at Alsaith’s funeral, I had an opportunity to see him. For the first time in my life I am actually seeing a precious little baby deceased. It is so hard to explain how this would affect me for many years. I remember seeing his small face, and his hands with 10 fingers, and his little feet. Even though I knew my sister was pregnant, to see the small premature baby, left an unforgettable impression on me, that I will never forget. As a Christian and a Pastor I have always understood that abortion, the intentional termination of a pre-born baby in the womb, was murder. It was not until I seen, the movie, Gosnell: The Trial of America’s Biggest Killer, and seen an actual picture of a baby he murdered by abortion, that I realize these are truly babies that need our love and protection. Even though Alsaith’s death was innocent in the womb of a loving mother, my sister; it made me think I would have done anything to save his life. So now as I fight for our pre-born babies in the United States against abortion, one day when I meet my nephew, Alsaith, in heaven, I will say to him thank you. I believe part of Alsaith’s purpose from God was to help me see how valuable human life is, and what we take for granted can be gone at any moment. Also how precious our pre-born babies in womb are, and how we as a civilized society must be vocal and defend the most vulnerable among us our babies. So I dedicate this book to my dear nephew, Alsaith William Childs. Through this book many women and men will be educated about the dangers of abortion. And many people will give their lives to Jesus Christ. Now Alsaith the world will never forget your purpose and the impact you will make on so many people’s lives.

    INTRODUCTION

In 2017, I was in Greenwood, South Carolina, I do not recall what day of the week it was, but my wife Joanie and I were getting ready to have lunch at this restaurant. A young lady maybe thirty years old, whom we were acquainted with, greeted us with a big smile. She said, Hello Pastors Tony and Joanie, and we responded, Hello, how are you doing? She responded, I am doing fine. So I proceeded to say, how is your little girl doing? She became very excited and said, I have pictures of her, let me show you. And I responded, Wow! She is really growing up. I continued by saying, how old is she now? And she responded, She is eight years old now. Then I said to the young lady, I am so proud of you, we love you, have a great day. As my wife and I proceeded to our table for lunch, I could not help but pause and thank God for saving not only this mother but also her little girl. Because eight years earlier in 2009, this young woman and her mother attended our church for the first time, even though we had attended another church with them before, this was their first time visiting our church. After her mother greeted me that Sunday morning, she told me that her daughter was pregnant and was considering having an abortion. And I immediately responded,

Absolutely not, she would be killing her baby in womb. Her mother became very nervous because she knew that I was going to talk with her daughter. So after service, I asked the young lady if I could speak with her, and I said, Your mother told me that you are pregnant and you are considering having an abortion. She began to cry, and say to me, Do not try to stop me or talk me out of this, I have made up my mind. And I responded, God would not want you to terminate the life of your baby in the womb. God placed your baby in your womb, in spite of the circumstances, please give your baby an opportunity to become all God has called your baby to be." As they left church that day, I did not see them again, however, her mother sent me a message and said her daughter had made a decision not to have an abortion. And to see pictures of this little girl, now eight years old, made my heart leap for joy. Since that day, God has placed a burden on my heart to end the senseless murder of innocent babies in their mother’s womb, which is called abortion. I feel this is my divine obligation and my purpose from God, to advocate for the abolition of abortion. CHAPTER ONE

    Abortion in The United States

US Abortion in the First Hundred Years.

Before the coming together of the United States, the generally-accepted laws of England allowed abortions provided the fetus is yet to form. It would generally be acceptable if the fetus is yet to quicken, which was the term used to refer to the feeling the woman has of the baby moving in her womb. Usually, it takes up to four months before quickening will occur, so abortions were still allowed before that period.

Within the first part of the history of the United States, laws about abortions were alien to the US before the 1800s. As of then, women had minimal rights as they were not permitted to vote, become doctors, nor join the American Medical Association (AMA). The AMA, as well as religious leaders, were persistently calling
