Author

John H. Dumke Sr.

One of my favorite things to do is sit on our deck with Traveller my white Labrador and meditate, pray and just visit with God. After all He has been talking to His man since creating him. Man’s problem is most just don’t listen. Traveller and I take daily walks as well and sometimes are joined by Nita Raye and her friend, Charlie Cooper, a Cavalier King Charles Spaniel. We live close to Lake Zorinski in southwest Omaha, Nebraska, and love walking to the lake, taking in the beauty of God’s creation. We are enjoying each other during these special years, especially now as we see our middle aged children sending their children off to college and out into the world to continue creating the Dumke legacy of glorifying God while building lives and families of their own. We have lived what God has taught us about marriage and we pray that you will enrich your lives by living out your marriage as God wants you to, so you two become a mirror of His love.

    ACKNOWLEDGEMENTS

First I will say: All Glory and Honor to God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit!

In my previous two books I acknowledged a number of family members and friends who have been so instrumental in my life, in all three areas of existence: spirit, soul and body, (flesh).

In this book, I will only acknowledge a few.

    (1) Abba, (Daddy), Father, God Almighty, who loves you and me unconditionally, even when we mess up and even before we accepted His free gift of salvation and became a part of His Family.

(2)Jesus, my savior, Lord and big brother: the creator of the universe who gave Himself as the ultimate sacrifice or payment for all of our sins.

(3)The Holy Spirit, my guide and comforter. It is He who gives me peace and joy when I am going in the right direction, and uneasiness when I am not.

(4)My beautiful and wonderful wife, Nita Raye, I am incomplete without her. She is truly the rest of me!

(5)My younger brother, David Merrill Dumke, who although much younger than we other siblings, and having attended a liberal leaning College, having matured during the Woodstock, free everything time, returned to the roots of Christian living as has been exhibited by and through his wonderful wife, Sue Ann, and their two grown and married children. Through the years he has ministered, (preached), at different Churches when asked to do so. Brule Wisconsin, I am sure you are proud of your long time resident.

(6)My Sister, Darlene Mae Stuart, married to Rev. Robert L. Stuart, now retired from both the military and the Ministry. One time when I was vacillating between belief in Jesus and wondering about what I should believe, she asked me this question: How can both of us be raised in the same Bible believing home, have different beliefs about Jesus? That question bugged me until I humbled myself to the Lordship of Jesus Christ. Thank you Sis!

(7)My big Brother Allen C. Dumke. When you are 5 ½ years younger than your big bro-, you don’t remember much about the early years, and I don’t. I just remember the older I got, the more I saw his as an extension of our father. I took Allen’s words to be as important as Dad’s. But one incident I remember as vividly as if it happened yesterday.

When I was 14 years old, and had been playing basketball at school, a player ran into me with his head hitting my chest at full speed. I went to the floor with a cracked breast bone and 4 cracked ribs, and boy was I ever in pain. They took me to the doctor who wrapped me up like a mummy and sent me home. That night as I was trying to lay down in bed, and couldn’t because of the pain, Allen came into my room as I was sitting up and said. Lay your back on my arms and relax, and I will lower you onto your bed. I did because I trusted him. I have a host of our stories of how I leaned on him for spiritual, emotional and physical help, and he was always
