Prologue
Once everyone was gathered at the High Council Headquarters, Emmanuel started making plans for the attack. He told the high council that he felt that it would be best if his warriors went in first. The second line would be the Ashnahs’warriors. Followed by the elders, and then the Ashnahs could be the last line of offense and throw magic spells if needed. The elders agreed to the plan. The priestess was hesitant to agree. She said that she didn’t like the idea of attacking them, being that the Ashnahs were supposed to help bring world peace. However, after thinking about it, she thought that it might be a good idea. So she agreed to the plan. After all the planning was done, they set up guards to watch over them, and everyone slept.
The next evening arrived, and Emmanuel and the warriors headed over to the caverns. Emmanuel told Marie that when they arrived, she was to stay in the back with the Ashnahs out of the way. When they arrived, they saw Mistress Dominique, Anthony, and the five hundred Sanguinarians heading out. Emmanuel and the warriors caught them by surprise. Mistress Dominique and Emmanuel called for the attack at the same time. Emmanuel and the warriors raced toward the five hundred Sanguinarians and started slicing their heads off. The evil magic users started using spells, and the Ashnahs were using them right back. Some of the spells from the evil magic users started hitting the warriors and killing them. The Ashnahs were trying to keep up with the evil magic users, but they were very powerful, and they seemed to be defeating them. The Ashnah warriors knew some spells, and a few of them started dropping their weapons and using spells to help in the fight.
As the battle raged on, the five hundred Sanguinarians were starting to be destroyed, and about half of the evil magic users had been destroyed. Emmanuel called for the elders to step up and the Ashnahs to use even more powerful spells. Anthony heard Emmanuel’s calls and decided to step into the fight and take out Emmanuel. Anthony ran up to Emmanuel with his sword drawn and swung at Emmanuel. Emmanuel swung back to block him but missed and caught Anthony’s blade in the shoulder. Marie saw Emmanuel get hit and decided it was time for her to help. Marie looked around and found a sword that had been dropped and ran toward Anthony. She threw the sword at him, but it missed. Then she remembered that she could use her water spell, which she knew that would distract him long enough for Emmanuel to take him out.
Marie started reciting her water spell and pointed it toward Anthony. Just as she was going to finish the spell, she was grabbed from behind. She started to scream but a hand covered her mouth. She was dragged off to the cavern. When they entered the cavern, she broke free from her attacker and saw that it was Mistress Dominique that had grabbed her. She turned to run, but Mistress Dominique kicked her in the back of the leg, and Marie fell. Mistress Dominique jumped on top of her and held her down. Marie struggled and rolled over. She was now lying on top of Mistress Dominique. She jumped up and started to run again. This time, she made it out of the cavern. Mistress Dominique was following her. Marie headed toward Emmanuel who had taken out Anthony. Just as Marie was about to reach him, Mistress Dominique got a hold of her, pulled out a dagger, slit her throat. Marie fell to her knees right in front of Emmanuel. Seeing this, Emmanuel took a swing with his sword and cut off Mistress Dominique’s head. It rolled toward Emmanuel’s feet, and he kicked it out of the way.
Emmanuel then dropped his sword and picked up Marie, and carried her to safety. He sat down and laid her head in his lap and covered her wound. Emmanuel held her to him and rocked her. He kept calling her name and begging her to answer him. Marie finally opened her eyes and answered him. Emmanuel, I love you,
she said. I love you so much,
Emmanuel responded. Emmanuel then asked, Why did you have to be brave and why didn’t you do as I said?
Marie answered, Because someone had to take care of you. You are my protector, but I am also yours.
Emmanuel smiled and said, Yes, you are.
Marie then said, Emmanuel, I am afraid and I am so cold.
Emmanuel answered, I know, my love, I know.
He held Marie for a while longer, and her breathe became slower. Marie looked at Emmanuel and asked, Do you remember me telling you that I am afraid to die?
Emmanuel answered, Yes.
Marie paused took a deep breath then went on, I am still afraid to die, Emmanuel, but you can fix it. You know what I need.
Emmanuel looked at her and said, No!
Marie started to beg him by saying, Please, Emmanuel, it’s the only way. Please make me like you. Please, Emmanuel, Make Me Immortal.
Emmanuel thought about it and decided he could not let her die, so he leaned down and bit her softly on the neck. Then he pulled out his knife and slit his wrist. He put his wrist to her mouth and said, Drink, my love, and become like me.
Marie opened her mouth and drank. Then she went into convulsions and passed out. Emmanuel waited for about three hours with her to make sure that she had lived through the change and make sure she was safe. Then Emmanuel looked around to check on the progress of the battle. There were very few Sanguinarians left. All of the evil magic users had been destroyed, and most of the Striogoi warriors were still standing. Emmanuel turned back to checked on Marie once more. He then decided to head out into the battle and finish off the Sanguinarians. Emmanuel raced over to the battle, grabbed a sword and took out three Sanguinarians within a few minutes. He went on killing as many Sanguinarians as he could. After about thirty minutes, all of the Sanguinarians were dead.
Emmanuel looked around and saw that they stood victorious. All of the Striogoi warriors and the Ashnahs were shouting for joy. Emmanuel found Gabriel and asked him to help carry Marie back to the house. Gabriel and Emmanuel headed to where Marie was picked her up and carried her. As they carried her past everyone, it
