About this ebook

A young African American misfit named Capricorn is misunderstood by her teacher, friends, and family due to her eccentric personality. She later finds out how distinctive she is when she finds the place where she belongs.

Capricorn expresses fear and resentment when she learns that her parents must separate from their marriage to live in peace. Capricorn and her baby sister September resides with their grandparents for some time until their mother’s situation improves. Within Capricorn’s anguish to yearn for the love and the acceptance that she deserves, she sobs while bowing down on her knees by her bedside until she delves into a dream state where she encounters an angel. The angel takes Capricorn into the world of Zodiac, where she ventures the islands of Aquarius, Aries, Cancer, Leo and Capricorn before she returns to Earth and discovers God’s blessings for her life.

On January 1977, it was a cold and wintry morning on 7462 Hillsdale Road in Baltimore, Maryland. Capricorn was a newborn baby, sleeping in her cradle by her mother’s and father’s side. The whole family was gathered in the living room, watching "Hogan’s Heroes" on television and engaging in a deep conversation about the christening service for Capricorn that would take place at New Shiloh Baptist Church.

I know Reverend Clinton can’t wait to see Capricorn and extol his blessings upon her, said Mother.

    Me too, replied Father happily.

Grandmother and Grandfather both nodded their heads in agreement and sipped their hot tea.

At New Shiloh Baptist Church, the whole family from Capricorn’s mother’s and father’s side stood up in front while Reverend Clinton blessed the baby. May the Lord be with this precious baby and her family. Ms. Jacqueline and Ms. Minnie, I need you to please come and bless the baby first since you will be her godmothers.

Ms. Jacqueline and Ms. Minnie gracefully walked next to Reverend Clinton and prayed over the baby. Each family member circled around them and began to pray and express their blessings over Capricorn.

It was 7:00 a.m., and the aroma of bacon, grits, eggs, and toast filled the house from the basement to the attic.
