Laura Russell Simpson

Laura Russell Simpson is in reality the ghostwriter for the One who gave her these teachings, namely, Almighty God. She is one whose life has been dramatically changed by the power of Almighty God. After years of struggles through pits and prisons, like Joseph, the patriarch, God has now brought her out to an abundant life of victory and joy, no matter the circumstances. Her heart’s desire is to serve the God she loves, first by answering His call to share His great love for all, to share the way of salvation through His Son, Jesus Christ, and to share the truth and power of His Word, which she highly esteems. She resides with her husband, Bill, in her hometown of Rock Hill, South Carolina, and has been blessed with a daughter, Lauran, and a grandson, Josh. She considers herself to be greatly blessed by the God she loves, and lovingly serves.

    Chapter 1

    Morning Glory

    Lamentations 3:21-23

This I recall to my mind: Therefore, I have hope. It is of the Lord’s mercies that we are not consumed, because His compassion fails not. They are new every morning: great is Thy faithfulness.

Standing alone in the very back corner of the large store I stood with eyes fixed, looking at the item on the very top shelf. His still small voice had led me there, saying He had something He wanted me to see. There on the very top shelf was a small canvas with three or four small white roses and only a few words— His words. I had read these words before, more than once, but this time it was different. This day these words went deep into my spirit. As I read, I listened. And meditated and gave Him thanks. This canvas had no picture on it, but actually it really did. Only the words, His mercies are new and fresh every morning were painted on it.

The picture on it is a picture of Him, our Creator, God, and Father. And who He really is. It is a picture of His great love for us, His mercy, His compassion for us and His faithfulness to us. Renewed every morning. These very scriptures reveal these to us. In the preceding scriptures, the writer of Lamentations is speaking of a time of affliction, loss of hope and strength. But He does not stay there. His thoughts go instead to the mercies of God, new every morning. Also, to His great faithfulness. This passage brings each of us great encouragement as we go through times of affliction. It is so easy to lose hope and to feel our own weaknesses. At the end of each day we may be heavy-hearted with the events of the day or our circumstances, but when we read and hear God’s Words, our hope and our strength are renewed. And His Word tells us, also, our minds are renewed each day. It becomes obvious that each day as His mercies come to us new and fresh that our minds are renewed. Before we close our eyes at night, no matter our circumstances, we can look to a new day with hope, knowing that when we arise, His mercy, compassion and faithfulness is there awaiting us. After taking these words of our God to heart, we can go to bed at night with a smile on our face and again the next morning with a smile on our face as we wait to see His plans for us that day. Whether good or bad, He opens his arms wide, full of love, mercy, compassion and faithfulness. Thank you, Father, for Your words of encouragement to each of us.

    Alleluia !!!

    Chapter 2

    When Morning Comes

    Mark 16:6

And he (an angel) saith unto them, be not affrighted: Ye seek Jesus of Nazareth, which was crucified: He is risen; He is not here: behold the place where they laid him.

As I sit this morning to write another of God’s messages, in my mind I am hearing the beautiful song, Then Came the Morning sung by Guy Penrod. The following words are night turned into day. This beautiful song is all about the crucifixion and resurrection of the Lord, Jesus Christ. This short passage in Mark, also tells us about these same events. That Friday on Calvary’s hill, Jesus died, paying the penalty for the sins of the world. He hung on the cross for several hours before He died. And before being nailed, hands and feet, to that cross, our Savior was beaten beyond recognition, spit upon, mocked, and a crown of thorns placed upon His head. Royal, holy blood ran down his head and body onto the ground.

After dying, His body was placed in a borrowed tomb, sealed with
