Amber a vibrant, beautiful, and talented young woman, enjoyed life and lived it to its fullest. She showed compassion for everyone that she met. She was adventurous and set out to achieve all that life had to offer. She loved to travel and wasn’t afraid to try new things. She would visit her family and all the people whom she loved at every opportunity. She didn’t forget to go to Church, in her busy lifestyle. While working on her next degree she also worked full-time. She had just graduated college and was ready to begin a new career.

    DEDICATION

This book is dedicated to all the many friends and family of Amber who are still missing her and is still waiting to hear the answer to a few questions on why she had to leave us so soon. Were there signs of abuse, that she just ignored? Was she trying to resolve this relationship? Why did she have to leave so soon, when it looked like it was her time to live?

You will find the answer to many of these question as you read her memoirs. It has help me tremendously through my grief process. I’m encouraged to keep living the life that God has ordained for me to live. Amber was truly being prepared to take the next step in her life as you will notice through her writings. I believe Amber would have wanted me to share her words by writing her memoirs to reach out to the people that she loved. As I went through her papers and things, I kept noticing the way she would express certain spiritual things. I found myself wanting to hear more and to read more.

I tossed and turned night after night until I had finally read enough of her writings to put my mind at ease regarding her spiritual journey and departure. So, I decided that If I needed to hear this and it helped me, then maybe it would help someone else too.

I refuse to become just another statistic like so many others I’ve seen. Life is not only a test, but a testimony and I intend to use it for the greater good as well as to accomplish my main goal: success! Considering the Air Force is one of the biggest and best decisions I have ever made in my life. I want to commit to something bigger than myself and in addition to having an understanding support group that’s second to none.

Joining the Air Force provides stability, education, work opportunities and most of all a brotherhood. What more could I ask for? I understand that there are some concerns on my behalf, but I can assure you that I am not here to waste your time but to put my time to perfect use. My waiver should be willingly considered despite the law violation. However, I do take full responsibility for my actions as well as reap the repercussions. I believe that anything worth having, takes hard work and sacrifice. I am determined to take on both tasks. There isn’t a job offered to hard for me to handle. The blood and sweat is well worth the outcome.

In closing, I ask that you take this time to consider evaluating my eligibility and to remember that my past does not predict my future!

Thank you in advance for your consideration,

    Amber S. Welch
