About this ebook

This book of poems is for all who knows how to shed tears. It will take you back to cherished memories of lost loves, while sitting by the sea, or that instantaneous place of peace that dwells within oneself as you sit on an old wooden rocking chair.

The words of joy, comfort, sorrow, and anger are unleashed through the eyes and thoughts of a country girl’s feelings and dreams in her poems.

Author

Yvonne Williams

Yvonne Williams was born on born May 4, 1958 in Baltimore Maryland. During the course of her up binging she always had a love for poetry, fishing and sitting on the beach writing poems. She attended the local schools and got a GED, a High school diploma, a bachelor’s degree in Crimal justice, business management, CDL’s Certified Nutrition Consultant, certified Med-tech, and degree in theology. She is married. She have four children. Twenty-three grandchildren, fourteen great grandchildren. She still resides in North Carolina and she’s glad to be a Country Girl. She found that writing poems and short stories was a way to release her heart aces, pain sorrow and so much emotional distressed of lost love ones, that she sometimes hold inside. It is a way of escape for her. It also let other people know that someone else knows their passion and struggles. The lessons we live is a lesson we have learned. The only problem is how many times we will repeat it before we get it right or at least keep trying.

    Dedication

Dedicated to my master. With a greater power. That I will always look up to and honor my hero Jesus Christ.

I was so fortunate to have and to have had. So many special people in my life. My adopted parents where Calvin and Carrie Woodard. My guard parents where Roscoe and Evangelist Geraldine Whitley. To a special uncle and aunt. Michael and Shirley Taylor. My best friend of thirty-five years, who left me to soon Laura Ruffin. Mary G Lucas, Maggie Carter. My brother, James Bunch. You all will always have a place in my hear. If you trust and believe long enough dreams do come true.

So to my children, grand children and to my rainbow. This was A Country Girl’s Dream and now that dream has become a reality.

And to my biological mother Almer Ruth Duch the prayer warrior.

    Poems

    A Bed Of Rose’s

    Rose’s petals leaf by leaf

    Smells so sweet yet are

    So beautiful on white sheets.

    Silk white sheets slide across

    My feet, red- red roses

    And gently touch my toes.

    Long stem red roses

    Spread across my pillow

one by one I treat them as

    they were placed there by

the man I have loved for

many years. A bed of rose

laid out for one queen not like

    Anyone else has dreamed.

Soft silk sheets as white as milk,

long black hair as black as mid-night

now laying in a bed of roses on

    a cool summer night.

    A Country Girl’s Dream

In her eyes there’s a city of her own.

In her smile there’s a house she calls home.

In her heart there’s a man she cries for alone.

In her dreams there is a hillside of fresh air,

And a field of flowers, just waiting for you there.

She’s a country girl that hears the whipawill call

And with many dreams that can be imaged,

even though most of her feelings are bottled

up inside she’s most happy living her country

life out on the country side-

She’s just your plain everyday country girl, with

a dream of what could be-

Clean fresh air, ducks in the pond, horses on the pasture, chicken in the yard, Naturally grown vegetables in the garden, a crystal blue stream, an a country Girls Dreams.

    Adopted

You loved me enough to give me away

In hopes to see me again, one day

    No shoulder to cry on

    You gave birth to me;

    And then you were gone-

    Eighteen months you let

    me stay by your side

Yet you did not keep me

    because of pride.

    Needing so much love

    From the beginning to end

Never knowing if you had any kin-

Adopted into more love than you

    Could ever understand, Thank God

    Someone had a loving hand.

You never saw my first dance,

or knew of my first romance.

You never knew if I was scared, and

    I never
