Introduction
For centuries everything was the same transportation was the same, no computers, tv or any of the modern convivences we have gotten so use to but yet a little over one hundred years ago things began to change. Although progress was slow at first, things especially in the last 50 years or so have sped up and today we can see changes in our way of living and technology has far surpassed anyone a one hundred years ago could ever have imagined.
I will attempt to show you what has changed and when and how this all fits in to the increase of knowledge that Daniel talked about. How will all this affect how we lived in History, and will live in the Present and future
Daniel 12:4
But thou, O Daniel, shut up the words, and seal the book, even to the time of the end: many shall run to and fro, and knowledge shall be increased. ⁹ And he said, go thy way, Daniel: for the words are closed up and sealed till the time of the end. The full chapter is included toward the end of this book for you to reference KJV
Technology - Computers
Have you ever wondered why technology is moving so fast you buy this really cool computer or game and within months the newest and fastest thing has just made your new computer outdated?
Computers
First programmable computer. The Z1 was created by
German Konrad Zusein his parents' living room between 1936 and 1938. It is considered to be the first electromechanical binary programmable computer, and the first really functional modern computer. It literally accepted a whole room
How about this one? Just what you wanted right? Not even close to the PCs we use today.
There are some people who will consider the conception of the whole idea about inventing a computer as an invention there are claims that the initiator of the computer was done in 1782 by J. H. Smith, although this conception never materialized. This conception was however left dormant and was again revived by Charles Babbage in 1822 in England. Keep in mind that he was mainly referred to as the pioneer of the computer.
This was nevertheless operated on the decimal scheme and was sponsored by the British administration for some time. It was later in about 1834 and 1869 that Charles Babbage again revised his invention into a superior device to what was known as the Difference Engine No. 2
. Depending on the source there are quite a few people that had made some attempt at building a computer but was never quite able to accomplish it.
An object found in a wreck approximately about 250 BC in the Mediterranean Sea area is suspected to be some kind of a computer, but some say that the first computer is the abacus created by the Chinees in about 2600 BC and 300 BC. It would seem that there were multiple attempts and building a computer. 2500 BC the abacus the first known calculator, was probably invented by the Babylonians. One might ask why until the last 20 or 40 years everything began to take off to where we are today?
How many ever-watched Star Trek? Some of you are old enough to remember when you had to open the door yourself and hold it open until you walked through the door and shut it behind you. Hmmm if you watched Star Trek you can remember watching doors opening up automatically? It was SiFi then but today it’s a reality of everyday life. Most department stores have doors that open as you walk up to it and close automatically after you walk through it.
Other Technologies like RFID that in one way or another has influenced our lives.
I can remember watching reruns of star trek and was mesmerized by the computer lights and sounds and watching them talking to someone on what looks like today’s flat screen TVs, and I never thought about the possibility of what I was watching on TV would actually come to be a reality. At first, they were big and bulky and only in black and white then eventually they would still be a bit bulky and heavy to pick up and carry but the picture was in color. today you can buy TV’s that are very light and almost as thin as a fluffy pancake. You can buy flat screen TVs in any size you want. This a tv that I own and watch and listen to while I write my books and articles.
Computers were just in the imagination as far as the average person was concerned something one would watch in a SyFy movie. The first time I actually seen a computer was when I had to take my baby to the outpatient room in the hospital because his cold go so bad with a fever that wouldn’t go down and I didn’t feel comfortable with waiting until Monday to make an appointment with a doctor which almost always made appointments days away from when you called and I just didn’t feel safe with doing that. While we were waiting to see a doctor, I had to go check in and to my surprise the receptionist there was looking at what looked like a TV siting there and she was typing on something on a lower level then I watched her get up and walk into the next room and come back with a few pages for me to sign. After signing the paperwork, I went back to my seat in the waiting room and sat down to ponder what it was I just seen. I have studied the bible since I was twelve and there was something about what I seen woke up my curiosity. I had my husband hold our son and I went over to talk to the lady sitting at this opening where the tv monitor was and asked her what is going on with the tv and what transpired that she was able to print out the paper from where she was to the next room? Since I could remember they either filled the paperwork out by hand or typed it up on a typewriter.
She explained that, that quite a few people have made the same mistake identifying the monitor as a tv. What does that monitor do I asked? She said the monitor is something like a tv but instead ow watching tv on it she said she can see the form that she has to fill out she does that by using a keyboard something like a typewriter except is she makes a mistake she can go back and correct it without having to start over again. It is saved in a computer and then she said I press the word print on the keyboard it sends it to the printer and it prints out on a printer in the next room and that is when I get the paperwork needed for you to sign. I asked is this the only
