Now when we talk about the collapse of technology many people will instantly think of the Internet crashing or something to do with the world wide web. Well this is only a small piece of technology. In this book we will explore the topic even deeper and pose the questions that no one wants to think of.
In this book we will first discuss how technology has come into existence and how it has changed from being a fad to being so entangled in our lives that if we were to loose cell phone service of our e-mail were to stop getting through we would start jumping off buildings like at the start of the great depression.

Surviving the Death of Technology - Gilbert Leonard
Introduction
Take a step back for a moment. I want you to step back and look at your world and the world that we currently live in. I want you to look at your walls, tables and even on your person. As you look around, I want you to take stock of the one thing that each and every one of these items you see has in common.
Can you guess?
Well here is the answer. Each and every one of these items is powered by technology. Now of course they may not all be powered by computer technology but they are built on of an advancement in technology that would not have been possible a year, five years, ten years of even fifty years ago.
When we look at the way that we live now and the way that we lived twenty, thirty or even forty years ago it is an amazing thing to see how we live and what we can and what we can’t live without.
Let me ask you a question. What do you think you would be doing now if the internet and the entire computer revolution never happened? What job would you have and how do you think you would be living your life right now?
Honestly when I think of it, I am scared out of my mind. I mean when I wake up and before I even open my eyes, I am reaching for my cell phone to see what e-mails come through. Before I even do my morning routine, I am checking my bank account and even checking out Facebook messages and posts.
Now, what do you think we would be doing if these items were never created or if they wouldn’t have been created in our lifetime?
In this book, we
