PREFACE
A creative person leaves an imprint of herself in her work. God’s imprint of spirit is in all life forms. God’s imprint of Love is in all life forms. I was inspired to give in this writing an overview of Gabriel’s teachings. At first thought of it I winced, but then the essay titles began to come, and the words unfolded to me over ensuing months. This is God’s way. Inspiration comes to everyone. Often we discount it in the belief that we are not worthy. Jesus the Christ said long ago, I am with you alway.
(Matt. 28:20). He meant it in a very literal sense. We can call on him and converse with him at will.
The names Yeshua and Jesus are used interchangeably in the text. Quotations from the Holy Bible are italicized to show respect for scripture. A Course in Miracles is sometimes referred to as The Course, or Miracles. Bible quotations are from the King James Version (AV) or The Good News Translation (GNT). The reason the essays are in alphabetical order is my computer favors it. It is suggested that the reader choose an essay at random rather than read from cover to cover.
Regarding the cover, January derives from Janus. The cover art, created by Dianne Eagle, depicts the image of Ruben’s Temple of Janus at the Heritage Museum in Antwerp, Belgium. The god with two heads meant he could see ahead and behind, or inside and outside at one time.
In the context of this work the left face depicts the ashen grey of a human being on the verge of death. It represents the unenlightened earthlings who have fallen asleep to our own divinity. It emphasizes what Jesus the Christ intended when he said, Let the dead bury their dead.
(Matt. 8:22). It is a reminder of what my mother said to me, through a medium twenty years after her death, You are the ones who are dead, you know.
The right face depicts the open-eyed vibrant, living image of the awakened Child of God that we all are. The faces are mounted on the Tree of Life. Humankind is rooted in the concept that we are merely humans. In truth we are the Lights of the World. The day of awakening to our spirit Self is ordained by the Creator. Gabriel said it is the only predestination. As spirit entities; Children of the Living God, we are "rooted and grounded in love." (Gal. 3:17)

INTRODUCTION
Archangel Gabriel visited Earth for twelve glorious years, from October, 1987 to December, 1999. Gabriel said that he came when he did because humankind is ready for the truth. We were a small church congregation in New York State. Archangel Gabriel came to us through a dedicated and gifted medium, Reverend Penny Donovan. Rev. Penny is a devout Christian, loves Jesus the Christ, and refers to the Holy Bible with a deep reverence. Rev. Penny founded the church thirty years before Gabriel began his visitations. Penny taught the art of mediumship as part of her church’s teaching curriculum. The church service included spirit messages from certified mediums. Trinity Temple of the Holy Spirit was a Christian Metaphysical Church. The congregation, which became Gabriel’s student body, was not large; nor was it a static group. Some left; some came later and continued.
According to the New Testament Archangel Gabriel appeared to and spoke to four people: Jesus’ parents and John’s parents. Unlike those brief visitations, Gabriel came this time for twelve years! Gabriel told Rev. Penny that he would come to teach us for twelve years with her permission. (Angels cannot override our free choice.) Penny agreed. Gabriel came where he did because beloved Rev. Penny had been carefully prepared for five hundred years of ‘earth time’ to channel an archangel. Gabriel informed us of our true beginning as a race of humans. God, creator of all life, created us as spirit entities eons before we took form to inhabit the Earth. Gabriel explained why we are here on the Earth Plane, where we are going and how to get there. Gabriel described the angelic realm and the various tasks performed by the many layers of angels. Gabriel confirmed reincarnation; a theory which we have long disdained. Gabriel also told us that Mother Earth, as a living entity, is going to shift in the coming years in reaction to the thoughtless and careless ways we have treated her. We have polluted the earth, the seas and the air.
What does one do with all this eternal wisdom? Were we told the truth to know it but remain silent? As Paul might have said, ‘God forbid!’ Gabriel was asked by a woman, at one of his seminars, who would inform others about his lessons. Gabriel said, essentially, ‘hopefully you all will.’ Each of us was thus instructed to pass on the wisdom we received at those sacred seminars. I have lost touch with the other students, but as for me I was inspired to pass on Gabriel’s lessons in truth by writing. My reason for writing is to pass on Gabriel’s lessons in truth through the sieve of my own personal life. Spirit guides me constantly. My intent is to always pass on Gabriel’s lessons faithfully; quoting only from written notes or my memory of the moment. The Sacred Garden Fellowship was formed to make Gabriel’s lessons available to future generations. The reader is urged to view that website. YouTube and Facebook provide Gabriel’s lessons in truth; some of Gabriel’s lessons were also videotaped.
After eight years of his teaching, Gabriel told us ‘there is one to follow’, and in 1995 Jesus the Christ began to teach us, also. From 1995 to 1999 these two holy entities alternately came to enlighten us; to wake us up to our divine nature. Our task is to awaken, acknowledge and know that we are dearly beloved of God because we are part of Him.
Gabriel visits the earth every 2,000 years, to announce each age. We are now embarking upon the Age of Aquarius, or, as Gabriel called it, The Truth Age. Gabriel informed us that it takes humanity 2,000 years to learn a new lesson. Gabriel said that besides him and Jesus (named Yeshua by Mary and Joseph), eleven Ascended Masters also came to various locations throughout the world, to bring the same message. They came to centers of light where communication with the spirit World of God is accepted.
And to you who are troubled rest with us, when the Lord Jesus shall be revealed from heaven with his mighty angels.
2 Thess. 1:7
In addition to Gabriel’s illuminating lessons in truth and Yeshua’s Bible corrections, humankind has the benefit of Yeshua’s teachings in A Course in Miracles and A Course of Love.
A CITY LIKE LONDON
54800.pngHell is a city much like London - a populous and smoky city.
Percy Bysshe Shelley ¹
Shelley’s comparing the lovely capital of the United Kingdom to a terrible low and evil place called ‘hell’ is only one of many descriptions found in literature. (Archangel Gabriel informed us that hell does not exist except in the imagination of humankind). Dante’s Inferno comes to mind. There are dozens of references to ‘hell’ found in The Oxford Dictionary of Quotations. The ‘hell’ of literature found therein contains a prison, gates and hinges, constant fires, bells, everlasting torture, smoke, ‘a fiery gulf’, a mouth, lidless eyes, a place black, and place dark. Tennyson’s Lucretius offers And numbs the Furies ringlet snake, and plucks/The mortal soul from out immortal hell.
Unfortunately there are also many references to ‘hell’ in the Holy Bible, from Deuteronomy of the Old Testament to The Revelation of St. John the Divine, the last book of the New Testament. Our modern Dictionary assigns the etymology to ‘before 12c’ and gives us, a nether world in which the dead continue to exist: Hades.
A recent Pew survey found that sixty percent of Americans believe in an afterlife in which people are punished for evil deeds.
A new publication, The Penguin Book of Hell, by Scott G. Bruce, chronicles 3,000 years of eternal damnation.
Mythology, from which all religions arise, is full of references to and descriptions of a place of eternal suffering.
Archangel Gabriel brought us only truth, (from 1987 to 1999) and when someone asked him about ‘hell’, he responded, I have been around forever and I have never seen a place called ‘hell’ or an entity called ‘the devil’.
This imaginary place of eternal damnation was apparently concocted as the ultimate torture of humans, by humans, for one’s perceived mortal enemies. The wonderful gift of imagination from God was misapplied to negativity and a ‘hell’ was invented. Judgment, which Jesus the Christ advised against, leads to a wish for another’s extreme punishment bereft of any kind of forgiveness, comfort or gentleness. This final condemnation would occur only after mortal death, and constitute an ‘immortal hell’. In a recent news report a man was quoted as saying he wished eternal damnation in the fires of hell for another’s actions. Some people perceive their lives to be ‘hell on Earth.’ Humankind has demonstrated a kind of hell on Earth through genocide, wars, torture, mass suicides, solitary confinement, etc. Nature seems to create hellish conditions by way of tornados, hurricanes and earthquakes. Gabriel clarified our erroneous perceptions. He told us that what nature seems to arbitrarily present to earthlings is merely an out-picturing of our emotions. There is a spiritual power in us from God’s All-encompassing power. That positive power is unrecognized by us, and when it is expressed through negative emotions, its energy ripples out into the ethers. A massive joining creates upheavals which we assign to ‘nature’. By its very Creation Earth is a calm and lovely place. Nature does not act in arbitrary ways.
Gabriel reminded us that God (Love) is everywhere, and what is everywhere can have no opposite. There is another way of thinking open to us. When we finally accept that all humankind is God’s great Family we will understand that everyone on Earth is a beloved Child of God. Only then will our innate God-created energy be constantly directed to positive thinking and a peaceful existence. Each of us has the choice to take on this holy responsibility. A small minority of people disbelieving in hell can and will impress upon our misguided siblings the truth. Reasons for accepting a world without a hell may differ. Living our lives in a positive way, accepting everyone ‘else’ as our spiritual brothers and sisters, we can make a difference in this judgmental world we live in. Forgiveness must replace judgment. Acceptance precludes a need for judgment. ‘Love thy neighbor as thyself’ remains a powerful commandment. Love of self is a given. Jesus meant self-love as a Child of God, not a narcissist. Perceiving all others as our spiritual siblings we will come to love them, also.
"If you were to say to God, ‘I want to bring this terrible deed to you,’ God would say to you, ‘there is no terrible deed, only you. And in you I find my joy.’ And that is forgiveness." ²
A NEW GENERATION
54800.pngIn the gospel according to Matthew, the many generations are described from Abraham to Jesus and were forty-two in number. Assigning approximately thirty years to each generation, Abraham to Jesus encompassed 1,260 years. Akhenaton, King of Egypt, lived in 1,353 BC. Archeologists have discovered human bones thousands of years old. In the gospels according to Matthew, Mark, and Luke ‘this generation’ is referred to. The Holy Bible contains many references to ‘their generation’. The generations in scripture are referred to as wicked, evil, adulterous, perverse, sinful, untoward, froward, stubborn and rebellious. We could easily describe this current generation as such. In the gospel according to Matthew we find ‘generation of vipers’. The book of Acts mentions ‘this generation’. Only in the book 1 Peter do we we find a generation of promise: But ye are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, an holy nation, a peculiar people; that ye should shew forth the praises of him who hath called you out of darkness into his marvelous light, which in time past were not a people, but are now the people of God.
³
From this perspective Christians perceive Jesus’ teachings as calling us out of darkness into his marvelous light. Now, based on the lessons in truth from Archangel Gabriel, we know it was the Light of God (the Christ) in Jesus which brought that marvelous Light, and brought it to all humankind. Jesus the Christ came to call humanity out of the darkness. Few listened; few live in the marvelous light today.
The word ‘age’ appears in the Bible only as a reference to a person’s time on earth. ‘Ages’ is found three times in the book of Ephesians: That in the ages to come he might shew the exceeding riches of his grace in his kindness toward us through Christ Jesus.
(2:9). Also: Which in other ages was not made known unto the sons of men, as it is now revealed unto his holy apostles and prophets by the Spirit.
(3:5; 3:21). Today we have an excellent definition of the ages in Levi’s Aquarian Gospel of Jesus the Christ:
Astronomers tell us that our sun and his family of planets revolve around a central sub, which is millions of miles distant, and that it requires something less than 26,000 years to make revolution. His orbit is called the Zodiac, which is divided into twelve signs, familiarly known as Aries, Taurus, Gemini, Cancer, Leo, Virgo, Libra, Scorpio, Sagittarius, Capricorn, Aquarius and Pisces. It requires our Solar System a little more than 2,100 years to pass through one of these signs, and this time is the measurement of an Age or dispensation. Because of what Astronomers call ‘the precession of the Equinoxes’ the movement of the sun through the signs of the Zodiac is in reverse order from that given above.
⁴
Archangel Gabriel confirmed the authenticity of The Aquarian Gospel of Jesus the Christ. The word ‘ages’ does not appear in A Course in Miracles (channeled from Jesus the Christ); ‘generation’ does: ’I will visit the sins of the fathers unto the third and fourth generation,’ as interpreted by the ego, is particularly vicious. It becomes merely an attempt to guarantee the ego’s own survival. To the Holy Spirit, the statement means that in later generations He can still reinterpret what former generations had misunderstood, and thus release the thoughts from the ability to produce fear,
⁴ Our daily lives are full of opportunities to reinterpret, correct, or alter our direction.
As the Age of Pisces dawned, Jesus the Christ came to teach his spiritual siblings of the earth how to live. Jesus clearly stated that he was ‘the way, the truth and the life.’ ⁵ He was speaking as the Christ. As the Age of Aquarius dawned, Jesus channeled through a beloved vehicle named Helen Schucman (A Course in Miracles), and thirty years later Jesus came to channel through another devout woman (Mari Perron) A Course of Love. These sacred guidebooks contain baby steps to our salvation. Reality is changeless. Magic thoughts are but illusion. Otherwise salvation would be only the same age-old impossible dream in but another form. Yet the dream of salvation has a new content… God’s teachers’ major lesson is to learn how to react to magic thoughts wholly without anger.
⁶ Perhaps if we had learned and applied the lessons in truth which Jesus the Christ brought 2,000 years ago he would not have had to come again in this generation to teach the same lessons. We did not accept his statement that the Kingdom of God is within. Now is the time to understand that statement being the same as saying we are Children of God. The ‘world without end’ is the world of spirit, and our eternal Self is spirit; has always been spirit.
Gabriel did not mention the larger Zodiac, nor did he ever use the term Aquarius. He did say that this is the beginning of the ‘Truth Age’, and he said, ‘I bring only truth’. Gabriel reminded us that God sent many prophets to teach us, and we killed them all. And then we killed Jesus, the greatest teacher who ever walked the earth, The Christ Light in Jesus is the eternal Self of us all. Knowledge of the ages will not make a difference in the way we live our lives, but knowing their existence certainly indicates the vastness of what we refer to as ‘time’ and its relationship to human development.
In this new generation we must awaken to the marvelous light and perceive truly that every person is our spiritual sibling, worthy of our love and respect. The Holy Spirit guides us all, but He must be entreated. We can ask the Holy Spirit to love our ‘enemy’ until we can. In place of judgment we can mentally lift into light and leave in love everyone we perceive as an adversary. We see the world we choose to see. We have the option of seeing a world at peace, but such a world is impossible until we find peace in our daily lives.
When you realize yourself as a divine being, you draw from your Soul’s memory the truth of you… For, whenever an idea becomes a reality to you, you draw a ‘thousand angels,’ as it were, that come to help you and assist you to draw [like a magnet] from your Soul’s memory anything that will enhance or reinforce that truth of you.
⁷
A QUIET KNOWING
54800.pngWhat quiet knowing cannot come to you in peace? Why would you believe you can learn from the turmoil of extremes what you cannot learn in peace eternal? This is what you have believed and why you have not chosen yet to accept your inheritance.
⁸
We spend many years in learning, from the basics of reading, writing, and mathematics to advanced studies, or apprenticeships, in preparation for a career. These studies lead to our busy life until we retire from the working world. Experiences in our field of endeavor increase our value in the world of work. This leads to promotions, advancement and an increase in wages. For some this is referred to as climbing the corporate ladder. We are convinced that education and experience are the tools for making a good living. Peace is not part of this whirling activity. We are creative humans, and even in the hectic workplace we sometimes have a brilliant idea which impacts our employment or all those working around us.
Created by the Creator we bear the imprint of creativity. Creation is not an event which happened eons ago. Creation is a constant flow of change. The lives we live today are far different from the lives of the cave people, or the lives we read about through the various ages of humanity. We have matured in our lifestyles over time. Change is growth, and we have made many changes in our environment and social conduct. As a race of humans we have become more compassionate toward each other. There are still many who want conflict for some reason, but the mass consciousness seems to have grown in spite of them. We have settled into a cozy corner of mass consciousness and in this choice we focus on activity and deem peaceful moments to be wasteful; non-productive.
In solving the problems of relationships the workplace holds no answer. We must find another source to resolve problems we encounter with partners, parents, children, and others. In peaceful moments solutions and resolutions come into our minds. Peaceful moments can be found in many places outside the working world, if we decide to seek and find them. Break time on any day might bring an idea into a mind at rest, when it relaxes just a moment from the demands of working. Choosing specific times for prayer and meditation can bring us into a peaceful place where we learn specific answers to our questions about life. God always listens, but we cannot hear Him in the din of activity. The world at work listens instead to the raucous ego, which urges us on to constant busyness.
We have a tendency to react to a situation instead of responding to it. A knee-jerk reaction puts us on the same level as the one who incites it. A response is a process of hearing, seeking guidance from our higher Self or the Holy Spirit, and giving a response. Today there is the term road rage, which is a perfect example of reacting. Reacting can lead to physical harm. Reacting is physically harmful because it increases our heart rate, breathing, and adrenaline. Reacting often leads to behavior which we regret. Response requires just a moment of thought. The fact that we are capable of both reacting and responding indicates we have a choice. We love to blame others when we react, but our words and actions are our personal responsibility. One reason we react is our impatience; another is the fast-paced world of instant gratification. A quick reaction seems to fit. A quick repartee is fundamental to some humorists.
In selected quiet moments we have available to us the answer to every question; the solution to every problem. Instead of taking a problem into the quiet moment, we can devote a few moments every day to establish patience, which is a maintenance mode of behavior. We can ask our Guardian Angel to guide us through the day. We can even turn our lives over to the Holy Spirit by asking Him to transform all our error perceptions into true perceptions. These are choices. We have the freedom of choice. Yeshua said, My peace I give to you.
⁹ He was proclaiming his own peace and stating that he could and did offer it to us. Our part is to accept his peace. The busy world is not mindful of peace; it even disdains it. Our inheritance is knowingness. In quietness - peace eternal - we can know anything we desire.
A THOUSAND ANGELS
54800.pngWhen you realize yourself as a divine being, you draw from your Soul’s memory the truth of you … For, whenever an idea becomes a reality to you, you immediately draw a
thousand angels, … that come to help you … and reinforce that truth of you.
¹⁰
Anyone who has brought an idea forth can vouch for this truth. Every invention, creation, work of art, beautiful structure, begins with an idea. Every such person can testify that suddenly all requirements became available to bring forth the manifestation of that idea. It is not magic; it is not coincidence. It is angels at work. Angels await our request and hastily go about to bring into our awareness the necessary components to make our ideas a reality. We cannot imagine a thousand angels, much less our 144,000 personal angels that God has assigned. We can imagine a place where angels dwell and have called it Heaven. Heaven is discounted by some. For others, Heaven is described in a different ways and assigned other names.
Belief in angels is not universal. Some people believe angels are mere fantasy. Others believe they existed long ago and came to humans to impart wisdom to special individuals. Others believe that angels spoke to many humans who lived two or five thousand years ago, but such communications is now unavailable to humans. For some, these beliefs are instilled in a child’s mind as soon as possible. Prayers and rituals are learned by rote. These prayers and rituals usually remain for a lifetime. Others question what they were taught and dare to consider their parents were mistaken. This can result in feelings of guilt, betrayal, and confusion. Archangel Gabriel told us that all religions have some truth, but none have all truth.
There are more angels in the angel world than we can comprehend. There are layers of angels. Angels are not designated by name but by purpose and function. Angels help us achieve what we came to do. They know our plan for our life and they rush to help is achieve it. Angels can never interfere with our life plan. The events we perceive as ‘accidents’ are all planned by us in order to learn from them. Our personal angels, numbering 144,000 all know this. They help by making our planned life easier. Believing in angels we can call on them for help of any kind and they respond faithfully and joyously.
When a person disbelieves in angels s/he cannot call on them. Nevertheless, our personal angels remain to watch over each of us and ease the way whenever and however they can. Assistance that comes to us in an emergency is an angel’s doing. Someone to open the door for us is an angel’s doing. A stranger who appears when we are stressed and need help may be an angel taking form briefly to lessen our load. Knowing that we have all these angels at our command and calling on them will prove to us their presence. In the event we are moving our residence, angels fly ahead to do what they can to help us get settled there. When a trip commences with a prayer of thanks for a safe and comfortable journey, angels keep beasts off the road ahead. Angels have eternal wisdom and know that we are unaware that we do also. Angels exist to help us. Angels desire to be recognized. Angels appreciate our requests and our gratitude. We must always thank them. When Gabriel said that we are greater than angels we all were amazed. The reason that we are was simply explained: because we have devolved from Heaven to Earth we must evolve back to Heaven. The joy upon returning will be so great that Heaven will rejoice at our return. Angels, who never take flesh (except very briefly to help us), can never know the exquisite joy of returning Home. We would never appreciate a quiet, sunny day unless we experienced a violent thunderstorm. The words ‘angel’ and ‘angels’ are found hundreds of times in scripture. In the wilderness angels ministered unto Jesus. ¹¹ (Matt. 4:11). In Revelation of Saint John, the symbolic journey of our return Home, we find ‘angels’ twenty-three times.
We receive help every day from the unseen population of Heaven. We are never alone. Our many angels await our command. It is time to be aware of all our heavenly helpers. It is time to acknowledge them. It is time to ask them consciously for help and then always to thank them.
ACROSS THE BRIDGE
54800.pngAcross the bridge is your completion, for you will be wholly in God, willing for nothing special but only to be wholly like unto Him, completing Him by your completion.
¹²
We might describe the bridge as spanning over troubled waters, or problems which arise in our everyday lives. In Chapter Sixteen of A Course in Miracles the bridge refers to the illusions we hold of life on Earth. Earth life is a life of illusion. Each of us has a personal perception of all that we see, hear, and feel. Which one of us is correct? We all are correct because what we experience is our personal reality. Yet we are all incorrect because we have a changeable view of life. How we perceive the world when we are six is not the world we perceive at sixteen, or at fifty-six. The world does not change, but our perception of it does. This confirms that perception is changeable and changes frequently’ across one life and between all lives. That is why perception is deception. Reality is based on personal experience which constantly alters our perception of life.
The only real world is the world which does not change; cannot change. It is the perfect world of God. It is the perfect Spirit World of God’s Creation. Mortal eyes cannot ‘see’ it because we have decided that it does not exist for us anymore. Something inside of us nags and says, ‘Yes, I know I am a child of God.’ But quickly the ego says, ‘No way, stupid!’
The bridge referred to in The Course is the bridge of illusion. On the other side of the chasm of illusion is the real world of God. If we can ford the stream of illusion to go over to the real world, we must have first come here over the same bridge, to this plane of illusion. This plane of illusion is based solely on the concept that form is all there is; that what we can see, hear, touch, taste and smell reveals to us the world which is real to us. Physical form rules our lives. An incredible amount of time is devoted to our bodies. The food, the clothing, the ‘job’, the relationships, the entertainment all demand our attention. The body is also illusion, for it is finite. The World of God is infinite; has no physical form; never changes.
To believe we can live in such a world defies the imagination. What would we do in such a setting? Where would there be to travel to? What sights could we behold? What would life be like without problems? The problems of life require our attention constantly. We expect to have problems and from that very expectation we create them. When all goes well for us, we are inclined to think, ‘How long can this last before the next problem?’
Life on Earth is a life of problems and our ability to solve them all. The ‘solution’ might be to walk away from it, ignore it, pretend it does not exist, kill it - by slaying the one responsible for it. Another solution is to compassionately rise above it by allowing it to be as long as it does not affect us. The solution we now have available to us (from Beloved Archangel Gabriel) is to understand that the problem - whatever it is - is of our own making. We made it to learn a lesson, and the first question we need ask is, ‘Why is this in my life; what is the lesson for me? Learning that we are responsible for our personal lives is not easy. We ask ourselves why we would ask for such a childhood; such a spouse; such a supervisor, such a child - or such a ‘handicap’? Those of us who are not so ‘afflicted’ are amazed at the overcoming ability shown by the blind, the deaf, and the ones without limbs. They overcome because they came to prove there is no barrier to living the life here that we choose. There are also ‘problems’ which are not visible to others. Diseases which prevent us from participating in life are surely lessons for others to learn acceptance. A desire to assist them gives us a lesson in compassion. Birthing and raising a child with a physical or mental limitation is a lesson in love.
God is Love, as defined in sacred scripture. A god of fear has been replaced by the God of Love, as expressed in human form by the example life of Jesus the Christ. When he told us that the Kingdom of God is within we were unable to grasp its esoteric meaning. Today we are more spiritually equipped to grasp it; to accept it, and to live it. Gabriel came to awaken humanity to its divinity. Crossing over the bridge of all our illusions will take us to the other side, where perfection reigns. We are complete in God on the other side of the bridge.
ADVANCING TOWARD TRUTH
54800.pngYou believed that every step in the advancement of your separated state was a step away from God and your real Self … We leave all of this behind now as we advance toward truth through returning to original purpose.
¹³
The ego, which we created with its belief in original sin, has brought us all to our current state of illusion. We have become convinced that we are victims and consumers. Victims are helpless; consumers constantly hunger for something. Since we consciously left our Source we have accepted the role of victim. Some are victims of those ‘smarter’, some are victims of those wealthier; some are victims of those physically stronger. Others are victims of circumstance or weather. Yeshua (Jesus) came to earth at a time when the Roman Empire was at its peak of power, but he did not assume the role of its victim. He was a leader of men because he came to bring us truth - the truth of ourselves, as Children of God. We followed him like sheep, wanting sorely to believe him and yet unwilling to accept the methods whereby we could emulate him. The methods were demonstrated by him in the way he lived his life: love, acceptance, forgiveness, peace. The word ‘victim’ does not appear anywhere in the Bible. Sheep follow a shepherd; children follow the lessons taught by parents. The entire family of God has refused to follow Yeshua’s example.
Yeshua referred to his followers as sheep; children. Yeshua was the most powerful human who ever walked the earth. In the wilderness Yeshua faced all the temptations his ego contrived to take him down a road away from his journey of salvation. Society today is constantly tempted to consume, to keep ‘busy’ doing something, to ‘save’ for the future. Yeshua said, He that believeth on me, the works that I do shall he do also; and greater works than these shall he do; because I go unto my Father.
¹⁴ Yeshua is stating that what he did was minimum for us to do, or he would not have said ‘greater things’. We stubbornly but unconsciously refuse to ‘believe on’ Yeshua. Instead of loving all our brothers and sisters we judge them, label them, and categorize them. Based on these judgment calls we deem them to be worthy or unworthy of our love. Yeshua loved everyone he encountered. We readily accept ‘others’ of the same color, nationality, lifestyle. Anyone else is ‘other than’ us. Yeshua never met an ‘other’ person who he did not speak to, heal, teach, or love. Forgiveness came easily to him. Yeshua knew full well that Herod desired to destroy him, but he merely said to the Pharisees warning him about Herod, Go ye, and tell that fox, Behold I cast out devils, and I do cures to day and tomorrow, and the third day I shall be perfected.
¹⁵ The Prince of Peace, as he entered a home or greeted a person said, ‘Peace unto you’, or ‘my peace I give unto you.’ During Yeshua’ trial he was asked by Pilate, What is truth?
Yeshua gave no answer according to the Bible. We might wonder why. Possibly Pilate walked away before he could hear Yeshua’s answer, or Yeshua purposely
