About this ebook

Writing this book has been a lifetime endeavor but an enjoyable one. When we become born again, we all become ambassadors of Christ. I felt inspired by God’s anointing to develop this work of rhyme and reason. I have focused on themes that God brought to me through many experiences in my Christian walk. My ever-growing faith and communication with God over many years have allowed me to develop what I hope is a work that will result in messages that will challenge the reader to draw nearer to God. The theme of the book is based on Acts 17:28:

For in Him we live, and move, and have our being; as certain also of your own poets have said, for we are also his offspring.

Acts 17:28 reveals to us a great truth. That truth tells us that without God we are nothing. It is because of Him and His love that we live and move and have our being.

He is the source of life, and through His son, Jesus Christ, we can receive redemption. Jesus said, “I am the light of the world. He that follows me shall not walk in darkness but shall have the light of life.” God’s inspiration and anointing have made this work of faith-based Bible insights and poetry possible.

    My Personal Testimony

In the early 1950s, some children were dying from lead poisoning. At the age of five, God's intervention saved me from lead poisoning. I was told I contacted it by ingesting lead paint off the wood on our back porch.

In my early twenties, God miraculously prevented me from being in a deadly car crash. All concerned were amazed at how this potential accident was averted, especially me.

While serving in the Army, God healed me of pneumonia while in the hospital over a six-week period.

And most importantly, God put people in my life who would help me understand God's plan of salvation and what God's plan for my life was.

These are but a few of the events in my life where God's providence and mercy helped me.

No one can ever tell me God is not real. He has revealed His love for me so many times and in so many ways.

It's in Him I live and move and have my being.

    Author's Comment

    To the reader,

Jesus said, I am the light of the world: he that follows me shall not walk in darkness, but shall have the light of life (John 8:12 KJV). God's inspiration and anointing have made this work and poetry possible.

The themes in my poetic endeavors are meant to focus on the importance of living victorious, sharing the gospel, seeking God's gifts, appreciating our leaders, and sharing the goodness of God's people. The condensed lesson texts are what I call my lifelong eye-openers.

My desire is to provoke thought and inspire and challenge all people to accept God as their Savior and walk with God in the fullness of His knowledge and love!

    The Gauntlet of Life

    (A Sonnet)

Born to run the gauntlet of life, I pressed through.

Endowed with a nature that revealed a curse to undo.

As I went, my need arranged my course.

Going on, my want became my source.

Darkness or light for me became an uneasy blur.

The choices I made, often right did not prefer.

For nature and nurture were to me a central theme.

My fleshly old nature looked to always what I could scheme.

Then somehow to me came good news, why I exist.

My eyes were finally open to all I had missed.

The gauntlet was there to teach us His way on the road.

To guide us to truth and to unburden the ordeal of the load.

I found that the way you begin is never the way you should end.

There's a guide on the journey, God sent us a

    Comforter, friend.
