In the world today, some believe in evolution,
This has given cause for a lot of confusion
The Big Bang theory is just man’s opinion the Bible,
In Genesis gives an authentic account of creation.
This inspired book chronicles how all things began
And still exists in the air, in the seas, and on land
All came into being by the word of God’s command
Only man, the crowning act of creation was made by his hand
From the dust of the earth with his breath he gave man life
Put Adam to sleep, took a rib,
And fashioned for him a wife God created man in his own image and likeness specifically
As in his word it is described fearfully and wonderfully
The only creatures he gave wisdom, dominion, and authority
Endowed with knowledge to think and speak intelligently
Yet many are still saying man is a descendant of monkey
Perverting God’s gift to promote evolution’s false theory
His word informs man, “God created in the beginning”
All doubts and disbelief came about as a result of sin
There is enough evidence in creation to put our trust in
Not one of God’s children should question their origin.

Bernadette N. Fordyce

Bernadette Norma Fordyce was born in a beautiful country called Guyana. She is married, and is the mother of four children, all now adults, a former early childhood teacher, and lay preacher, through her evangelistic efforts over the years, many souls came to know and accept the lord. Presently a nurse technician, who enjoys in her spare time outdoor witnessing, her love for the lord is exemplified by sharing the gospel through the three angels message in revelation 14:6-12 “to hasten the lord’s coming thereby helping to prepare others for the coming of the lord”.

The inspiration to write these poems comes from my loving, heavenly father; therefore, with tremendous gratitude, I dedicate every poem to his name’s honor and glory. I also remember the dedicated service of Pastor Alfred Joseph, who pastored with the Guyana Conference in the Berbice Number 1 District. God used Pastor Joseph’s selfless service and quick initiative to secure the right resources to help me in my time of greatest need. I remember my husband and four children, who supported me with their love and care through it all.

These soul-searching poems are also dedicated to my church family in Guyana, respectively in New Amsterdam and Bara-Cara. I say to all my brethren out there, thank you for every prayer; because of your love and care, I am still here. To those who helped in anyway, I truly declare my gratitude for the time you shared with me. When my pains seemed too much to bear, my brethren assured me that God would hear the petitions presented from far and near. He surely answered those collective prayers.
