The author is a novice in the field of writing but was compelled to tell his story in order to help our men and women suffering from PTSD. Terry was a naive young man before he was drafted and came home as he states "in pieces" and those pieces are still together to this day. Terry has battled many days of depression and yet held onto life despite the horrible visions of experiences in Vietnam. Through all his struggles, Terry has been a caring and giving person to his peers, friends, family and co-workers. Over the years, Terry has internalized his struggles which has taken a toll on his body and caused withdrawals from his surroundings. On the surface you find a jovial person who is driven to finish what he starts and to follow through on his given word. He strives to right the wrongs he sees daily. Though he feels taken over by the effects of Vietnam. It has made him a strong character to deal with and can usually get to the heart of any issues. He never gives up!!!

PTSD
POST-TRAUMATIC STRESS DISORDER
Post - something in your past which caused your mind to take in and remember on a daily bases.
Traumatic - an event or experience in your life, which is so terrible that your mind cannot make since of or able to process.
Stress - anything or occurrence which causes you to become anxious or feel closed in with no way out.
Disorder - you can no longer organize or rely on your mind to do what you would like it to do. Your mind is the boss and in control.
EVERY MOMENT MATTERS
41761.pngTHE MIND
41769.pngI n my opinion, the mind is the most powerful and controlling part of the human body. The way my mind processes certain traumatic events can be processed completely different from the next person. Everything comes into play when dealing with traumatic experiences - environment - education - religious feelings - your character - and your ties with your home life. I know my mind tried to process my traumatic experience in so many different ways. The mind tries continually to make sense of what happened without success. You become so exhausted and frustrated that you simply can’t function. To this day, my mind is still trying to make sense of why the event is still so vivid in my mind after all these years. The mind is so complex and stubborn that it’s impossible to thing that someday you will be able to cure PTSD. I personally don’t believe you can cure PTSD. Too many factors are involved.

Your youth is no match for your mind. This thought continues for a few years.
Phase two - I made up my mind up that these traumatic events in Vietnam were starting to disrupt my thoughts and my thought process. I began
