Introduction to the Book
Congratulations!! This is a very magical time in your life! Are you pregnant? Thinking about starting a family or adding another baby to your family? Hopefully we can provide you with information to make a smooth transition. Have you just delivered? You have a new baby in your home! Your new bundle of joy is here!! There is so much to discover about your baby! At the same time, allow your body to recover from labor and delivery. Your baby is cuddling, cooing, and gazing up at you. You have some choices to make - Should you breastfeed your baby, how long will you breastfeed, weeks, month, years? Will you supplement your breastfeeding with formula? These are questions new mothers face- it is okay to review these questions weekly or sometimes daily. As you do, refer back to this guide for information and encouragement of the decisions you make. Watch your baby’s lips and how the baby holds his mouth and how the baby moves his tongue and sucks his lips. These could be cues for you to take action! Listen to the sounds of the baby- are the sounds wet or are the sounds dry? Can you tell if your baby is hungry or just discovering their lips? Do the sounds get louder and faster? This book is a quick and easy read to guide to encourage healthy bonding between you and your baby from birth to age three!
Being a mother is not about what you gave up to have child, but what you have gained from having one.
