INTRODUCTION

I am just an ordinary person. I do not know why the Holy Spirit speaks to me; I just know I am blessed when I get a message. I drive a tractor-trailer, as a means to make a living. As I drive, I tune in to various radio ministries and try to learn something new about my Savior. Often, I hear a word or a phrase in the body of a sermon, whether in church or on the radio that opens the door to a message from the Holy Spirit. The message may come as one phrase and stop, or come as a complete work. I never know. I do know if it is a single phrase, it continues to float around in my mind, occasionally coming to the surface until it forms into a complete work. I have been blessed by these messages, and I hope you will also be blessed. I have included companion scripture references for each work.

HOLY SPIRIT

Come into my life, Holy Spirit.

Show me how to live day by day.

Guide me and protect me, all along the way.

Come into my life, Holy Spirit, and stay.

Teach me how to live, Holy Spirit.

Help me find the meaning of His Word.

Give me understanding; help me find His reward.

Holy Spirit, come inside me; show me how to serve.

PONDERING

It was an ordinary place on an ordinary day.

There was nothing special or out of the way.

The normal routine that usually ruled my life

was well in place, as I sat and pondered why.

Why was I stuck in the same old routine?

I had never been timid or afraid of new things.

I wondered to myself if the Lord knew my place,

and quickly ashamed, I bowed my head to pray.

I prayed for direction so my eyes could see

the path I should walk and become as He wanted me.

My faith was weakened, and I knew I was wrong;

I had been struggling against His will for far too long.
