THE LIVING WORD
42104.pngThe outside is bound with leather and embossed with gold.
But the pages within hold the fruit for the converted soul.
The heart must be opened to receive its true blessedness;
so for the unbeliever the words often make very little sense.
The hunger for the wisdom burns in those saved by grace.
And each passage tells a new truth on any given day.
Learning life lessons provides a spring board for new insight.
What was once a mystery, suddenly is as plain as sunlight.
By reading through His words, we grow stronger in our faith.
The Lord opens the window a little wider with each new page.
Learning His truths creates a yearning to share what you know.
We want to let others find the joy that permeates our souls.
The Holy Word of God is needed by all whose lives are standing still.
Therein is guidance for all who seek to know, and follow God’s will.
Comfort lies within the pages for those who are weary or worn down.
The pages are a direct connection to His love which has no bounds.
From this living breathing book, the love of God will forever pour.
It provides a strong foundation for faith as it is read more and more.
If you let the essence of the Holy Spirit flow through your veins;
there will be no end to the number of blessings you will gain.
You can feel the pulse of God when His words are on your heart.
It will beat with a joyous rhythm that only He can impart.
The living word of God is and forever has been a redeeming light.
The lifeblood of salvation is there through the grace of Christ.
The inspiration of Jehovah God created each chapter and verse.
Then His carefully chosen saints wrote down those God breathed words.
The words lay upon the pages, awaiting our inquiring minds.
But the Bible must be opened and read, to find the blessings inside.
Acts 17: 11,12
A MOMENT FOR GOD
42104.pngI love the scent of honeysuckle clinging to an evening breeze.
The light sweet fragrance is enchanting to me as I deeply breathe.
The vines with the pale yellow and white blossoms are everywhere.
And the nectar inside each one is as sweet as the scent in the air.
As the darkness of the evening begins to fall, the air slightly cools.
The scents of the springtime flowers gather together in a fragrant pool.
The lilies, sweet spire and lilacs are all bursting with scent.
And there are dozens more in bloom with fragrance heaven sent.
Each aromatic blossom on shrub, tree or flower is a gift from God.
Fragrances shared from heavenly gardens where angels have surely trod.
We often overlook such simple yet delightful blessings from The Lord.
Too busy to slow down, and enjoy a moment
with Him in peaceful accord.
It is quite serene in the time after the sun
goes down and before the night.
Most of the birds go to roost, silencing their
songs until the next dawn’s light.
The frogs, the toads and crickets begin to
warm up for their nightly chorus.
Then the owls and bobwhites join in to create a concert just for us.
Better still is the quiet of the morning as the night is fading away.
That blissfully peaceful moment before the sunrise begins the day.
The cool of the dawn fills the air as does the fragrance pool.
That stillness begets peace, inviting talk between God and you.
God gives us such things in each day we are blessed to live.
They are a small sample of the delightful treasures He so freely gives.
All around us are gifts from God, overlooked or viewed with jaded eyes.
Lost is the wonder and awe; the appreciation for the Creator of mankind.
Let this be the day we stop and know, that…, He is God!
Single out a moment or two, to give Him more than the occasional nod.
Then build upon that awakening each day, to give God His due;
for it was The Lord God who made everything, including me and you.
Proverbs 4:18
SPRING’S PROMISE
42104.pngThe winter has been harsh this year and difficult to endure.
But spring is in sight providing hope, and the days of winter are fewer.
God always provides hope and light when days get long and dark.
Even at the peak of winter’s drear, there is
the promise of spring’s fresh start.
A bright cup of sunshine peaks out from behind the old fence post.
And out by the big rock more blooms of buttercups are nestled up close.
There are short blue flowers too, with three
petals contrasting with the snow.
The grip of winter remains, but the spring flowers have begun their show.
Trees and bushes have sprouted fresh buds, ready for another season.
Soon all the colors of spring will burst, and become summer’s beacon.
A beautiful renewal to the growing year has at last made its mark.
Each plant awakens with its own beauty; they are God’s creative art.
Spring has the promise of a new beginning out of winter’s remains.
There is the expectancy of more sunshine and longer, warmer days.
Something in the human soul creates the need for soft spring light.
The darkness can stifle our growth and cause our eyes to lose sight.
We are given the light of spring and summer to end winter’s gloom.
It is a promise from the Lord that He will always carry us through.
Springtime serves as one reminder of our renewal by God’s grace.
If we open our hearts to the light of His Son, HE will show us the way.
If your life has become a battlefield full of raging winter storms;
look for the promise of spring and put your assurance in the Lord.
His love and mercy and goodness will wrap you in His warm embrace.
For even in the dark of winter, there is always the promise of His grace.
Just as spring brings forth new life to delight and refresh our souls;
so God provides new life when we give our hearts over to His control.
Even while our lives seem covered by cold and snow, winter has not won.
The darkness of a winter season will fade away with the light of His Son.
Isaiah 40: 28-31
FALL SPLENDOR
42104.pngI am filled to overflowing at the splendor of God’s creation.
The fall colors are at their peak; and are quite the sensation.
The reds, yellows, and oranges are beautifully framed by evergreens.
The palette of God is perfectly balanced and complete.
Each fall
