About the Book
HE WHISPERS IN THE DARK is a thirty-one-day devotional with a collection of stories, scriptures, prayers, and a personal thoughts section with exercises to complete. It also includes affirmations that speak positive changes into one’s life. Combined, it strengthens our faith. It builds trust and deepens our relationship with God.
This devotional serves as a reminder to slow down and listen to His still small voice as we realize who we are in Christ and who Christ is in us. You will draw closer to Him as this collection will provide more communication with God as we prioritize, renew, and reflect on our lives.
As we live a life that represents the King, this devotional time can help build and sustain a relationship with God as He wants a relationship with each of us. He wants a consistent, committed, and a surrendered relationship with Him.

Introduction
This devotional book was written to provide daily encouragement to everyone. My inspiration extended from a Personal Ministry that I started titled Good Morning God
a couple of years ago. God put His chosen people on my heart to contact daily. I had not talked with some of them in years, and others I spoke to more often.
For some participants, I sent encouragement one consecutive year and others two consecutive years. I reached out to each of them individually with scriptures and testimonies daily, from my life lessons and experiences as God had placed on my heart to do.
In my obedience, I received many messages from each of them thanking me for the encouragement they received. They shared how much they appreciated and needed the daily inspirations. Each morning I would spend a significant amount of time seeking the Lord. I developed a habit of reading and studying the Bible before I started my day. After prayer, the Lord would give me a daily scripture to reflect on and who to share His word with. Overall, there were more than 30 individuals I reached out to daily.
God used me to be an inspiration for others as He was growing me in the process. I pray you find these devotional readings uplifting to you as they are meant to be. May this devotion be a blessing to you as you grow deeper in your walk with God.
May His word draw you closer to God as you make Him the priority in your lives. I pray your journey with Him be sweet as you experience the goodness of the Lord. Thank You!
To God, be the glory forever and ever! Amen.
(Galatians 1:5 GNT)

He Whispers
Do you find it difficult to sleep during the night? Or do you wake up in the middle of the night and unable to go back to sleep? I am not sure about you, but counting sheep does not work for me. When I am faced with sleep issues, I tend to pray, pick up a devotional or Bible, and began reading it. The majority of the time that is all that I need to do. After that, I fall sound asleep. Sometimes it is just a word that the Lord may give me to bring comfort to my soul. Other times, He wakes me to pray for my loved ones. He may place other family members or friends on my heart to pray for. Often, I think this is God’s way to call on His children to spend more time with Him.
The salient point is to get an understanding of why you are up and cannot sleep. If you were asleep and He wakes you up, then believe that you are awake for a purpose. That purpose is a part of His plan. We must always be on standby. Sometimes, God may call on those who intercede to pray and stand in the gap for others. Those who intercede on behalf of other people do not necessarily volunteer to be awake praying while others are asleep.
Intercessors are no longer humans of their own free will. They are on duty for the Lord. God is often intentional about their need to be up praying. They are like watchmen on the tower. If everyone slept simultaneously, that would give the enemy an open range to roam about, making him free to sneak in and wreak some havoc when we are most vulnerable.
Maybe God gets a little lonely at times and wants our attention too, or perhaps He wakes us in the middle of the night to prepare us for what we need as He equips us for battle.
Once, I recall having had insomnia for two weeks. I took advice from several people who advised me to drink warm milk, exercise before bed, take a shower, read a journal, and even taking sleeping pills were suggested. I tried it all except the sleeping pills, as they were not an option for me.
Finally, the Spirit prompted me to do breathing techniques and meditate on bible scriptures. I went into prayer, and after 30-45 minutes of breathing and meditation, the problem was solved. Praise God! I had the best, peaceful and longest sleep that I have not had in years. Be still and listen to the still small voice as He whispers in the midnight hours.
REFLECTION 1: Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy and my burden is light
(Matthew 1:28-30)
REFLECTION 2: "Come close and whisper your answer. I really need you."
(Psalm 55:2 MSG)
Prayer: Lord, I thank you for obedience and for opening my ears to hear. I would much instead meditate rather than medicate. Lord, I ask you to touch all who read this devotion but especially those who cannot get the sleep they need. May they find comfort and peace in you. May they sleep and find rest that
